This young male Malinois (mix?) was dumped about a month ago, and no previous owners have come forward. He’s a friendly, playful BIG puppy who comes to a whistle, has good off-leash recall, knows “sit,” and is learning “down.” He’s great with dogs, takes corrections well, and loves to play! He’s also been respectful around supervised livestock and travels well in the car. 🏡 During a short afternoon indoors, he quietly napped, respected countertops, only picked up toys, and stood by the door to potty. We don’t know his history, so we cannot guarantee he’s house-trained. 💉 We had him neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated (core rabies) the first week of October to set him up for success in his forever home! He’s not high-drive, but he IS high-energy and needs daily exercise and an outlet. Secure containment and continued training are essential. A cat-free home is recommended.

Animal Information: Mabel is an estimated 2-year-old, 60-pound female Malinois mix who wound up at the shelter as a stray. She had recently had puppies, and the responding officer believed she had been dumped in the area. When Mabel first arrived, she was very nervous and reserved in her kennel. With a little patience and encouragement from shelter staff, she slowly came out of her shell, and it didn’t take long for everyone to discover that she was actually a total lap dog! Mabel also did well in playgroups. She started off shy and unsure, but with a little time, she warmed up and began enjoying herself with the other dogs. When Mabel’s time at the shelter was up, we simply couldn’t say no to giving this sweet girl a chance at the good life here in the PNW. We’re so excited to see her chapter change from survival to the happy, loving life she deserves. Foster Profile: Coming Soon! Yes, I know I’m still technically a puppy, but I have already mastered the most important life skills like potty training, crate training, riding in the car, cuddling, and finding the softest place in the house to lounge. You’re welcome. I’m the kind of guy who likes to keep things simple. Wake up, perform my signature upward-facing-dog stretch, give my people some extremely persuasive puppy-dog eyes, go outside, have breakfast, maybe play with my foster siblings, and then… well… probably take a nap. I believe strongly in balance. I absolutely LOVE other dogs, and my best buddy is my foster brother, Gunny. We play zoomie tag around the house, which is excellent exercise for him and a completely reasonable amount of cardio for me. I’m affectionate, cuddly, curious, and a little shy when something is new. Big animals can make me a little timid, but I’ve been introduced to horses, sheep, chickens, cats, and all sorts of new things and have handled them beautifully. I just need a patient human who will help me discover the world without rushing me. I’m also pretty well-mannered. I respond to “NO,” I’m good in my crate, behave on leash, and I’m not destructive. In fact, I am apparently the only dog in my foster home who can own a stuffed toy without immediately performing surgery on it. Okay, I may counter-surf when nobody is looking. But listen; I’m a puppy. Sometimes the counter has mysteries. I also have one very specific bathroom requirement: I must poop as close to the back of the fence as physically possible. Privacy matters. My dream home? Someone who wants a sweet, easygoing cuddle bug and is willing to help me build confidence and continue learning. Another dog would be fantastic, and kids could be fun too. Mostly, I just want people who will love me, guide me, and appreciate that I am basically a camp counselor trapped in the body of a professional couch potato. So… are we doing this?
