Story
**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** Hello my name is Haisley, I am between 9-12mths old, soon to be spayed female, Belgian Malinois. I was a stray, so the team doesn't have any information from before. What they have learned is I am incredibly smart, sweet, eager to learn, easily trainable (I have learned sit, stay, leave-it and kennel), I love to go for walks, I walk well on a leash. I like other dogs, but I have not had any playdates yet, we don't know about children or cats (none to dog test with). My ideal home would be someone who has Belgian Malinois experience, we are excellent dogs, but need someone who understands our behavior, how we are trained and can keep up with our energy level, a fenced backyard, someone who I can go on adventures with like, hiking, camping, jogging and maybe someone who is interested in agility training. I am not a dog for a 1st time dog owner. My adoption fee is $250

Story
Murphy is around 5 and a sweet boy. He’s our loved family dog who is great with older kids and cats but is unpredictable with our toddlers and around other dogs. A fence and being on leash is a must. He loves couch snuggles, playing with his toys, and fetch. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines and lab tests, and does not have any health issues. Happy to provide veterinary records. Will provide his food, food containers, bed, toys, leash, and harness. Located around Sherwood, OR and willing to drive a bit for someone who will take him in.

Story
MEET MANGO, a small and friendly shepherd/husky mix, possibly part Belgian Malinois, in need of a foster or forever home! Mango is a 2-year-old girl who loves people and loves other dogs. She's an active pup and would do best with an active person, people or family. She'd also do well with someone who works from home or is retired, because she gets bored pretty easily. She was originally rescued from a California shelter and now is in Southern Washington but can be transported to Portland. Please email for an application - Mango weighs only about 48 lbs.

Story
This is Jade, a seven-month-old Malinois mix (our best guess!) who somehow managed to get all the ears. Seriously, they're magnificent. Pair those iconic satellite dishes with her striking black mask, athletic little frame, and constantly happy expression, and you've got one ridiculously adorable girl. At just under 50 pounds, she's a petite powerhouse with enough personality to fill the whole house. Jade is the type of dog who wakes up every morning thinking, "Okay...what adventure are we going on today?" If there's a toy nearby, she's already halfway through convincing you it's time for tug. If there's a ball, she's ready. If there's a stick? Even better. She lives for playtime and has never met a toy she didn't think deserved her full attention. Watch Jade's video here! https://youtu.be/B9oKa-yFYxU?si=mCD3vn4mpsyel_kE She's both treat motivated and toy motivated, which means training with Jade is less of a chore and more like a game show where everyone wins. She absolutely loves using her brain, figuring things out, and earning her prize. She's the kind of dog who wants to be involved in everything you're doing—even if she's not entirely sure what you're doing. If you've been dreaming about owning a Belgian Malinois, Jade is exactly the kind of girl who will steal your heart. She's goofy, brilliant, endlessly loyal, and happiest when she has a job, an adventure, or a reason to show off just how clever she is. She's looking for someone who doesn't just want a dog—they've been waiting for a Mal. Someone who's excited about training, enrichment, weekend hikes, backyard games, and all the wonderfully chaotic fun that comes with sharing life with a working breed. But don't let all that athlete energy fool you—Jade has an incredibly sweet, gentle side, too. She's living in a loving foster home with other large dogs and is doing wonderfully. She adores her canine buddies, but she also thinks she's approximately 12 pounds and belongs curled up directly in your lap. Personal space? Never heard of it. After she's done zooming around the yard, she's more than happy to climb into your lap for snuggles and remind you that even working dogs can be world-class cuddle bugs. Jade is wonderfully confident with people and greets new friends like she's been waiting for them to show up all day. She's gentle, affectionate, and loves soaking up attention from her humans. We think she'd likely do very well with respectful kiddos who are excited to have an adventurous best friend to grow up with. She also loves having dog friends—as long as they're ready to party! Jade is a rough-and-rowdy wrestling champion who does best with playful dogs her own size that enjoy a good game of chase, tug, and zoomies. After everyone gets the sillies out, she's perfectly happy taking a break with the rest of the crew. Because of her enthusiastic play style and strong prey drive, she isn't the right fit for homes with small dogs or cats. One thing you'll quickly learn about Jade? This girl has springs. Her foster says she's an impressive fence jumper if left outside by herself, so she'd love a family that enjoys spending time outside with her instead of sending her out solo. She's also still polishing up her leash manners because every dog she sees looks like a potential new best friend, and sometimes her excitement gets the better of her. Jade could happily share her home with another playful large dog, or she could be your one-and-only sidekick—as long as she's getting the exercise, enrichment, and quality time she craves. She isn't looking for a couch potato lifestyle. She's looking for someone who says, "Let's go!" and actually means it. If your idea of the perfect companion is equal parts athlete, class clown, cuddle bug, and loyal best friend, Jade is ready to turn every ordinary day into an adventure. She'll make you laugh with her goofy antics, impress you with her brilliant mind, and then promptly climb into your lap like she's the tiniest puppy you've ever seen. All she needs now is her forever family. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
