Story
Meet Maggie! ❤️
Maggie is a sweet and gentle 3-year-old, 48-pound Bernedoodle who is learning that life as a beloved family companion can be pretty wonderful. With her calm nature and affectionate personality, she's ready to find a patient family who will help her continue to blossom.
Maggie enjoys spending her days relaxing on the couch, soaking up ear scratches, and keeping her people company. While she isn't overly active, she has recently started engaging in daily play with her 40-pound foster dog sibling and is discovering just how much fun being a dog can be. She could thrive as an only dog or with a calm canine companion, though another confident dog may help her continue building confidence.
This lovely girl is house-trained when kept on a regular schedule and walks nicely on a leash. She currently prefers shorter walks as she builds her endurance. Maggie has also done well around children, remaining calm and accepting of gentle affection and activity around her.
Like many dogs adjusting to a new life, Maggie is still learning that it's okay to be home without her people. She may howl briefly when left alone but takes comfort from the example of calm canine companions.
Maggie can be a little reserved when meeting new people and tends to warm up to women more quickly, but with patience and kindness she forms trusting bonds with everyone in her circle.
If you're looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who would rather cuddle on the couch than run a marathon, Maggie may be the perfect match. All she asks for is a loving home, a little patience, and the chance to continue discovering how wonderful life can be.
Maggie is fostered in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her adoption fee is $450.00.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
