Story
Meet Ariel. Ariel was born on 1/21/24 and is a mix of Bernese Mountain Dog/poodle/labrador.  She will be a very large dog when she is fully grown up to 80+ pounds.  Ariel is very sweet and intelligent and talkative. She loves her toys. Ariel is good with our other dogs in the home. She currently has a little bit of separation anxiety but also because everything is new to her coming from a commercial breeding kennel. We are working on potty training and have a bell on the doors so she knows to hit them when she needs to go out.  She is doing well with leash training.  Her foster mom has two bulldogs with Ariel but no cats but we don’t think cats would be an issue.  She has been around children who are 1 and 4 and was very good with them but will be better in a home with older children over age 8. Ariel will need a fenced yard. Ariel will follow other dogs and do what they do. She sits for treats and has learned to wait and sit. Ariel is now spayed, up to date with vaccines for her age and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Our dear Sadie is ready for a forever home to call her own. She is thought to be around 2 years old. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, has a microchip and overall in great health. She weighs 66 pounds, she needs to gain maybe 10 pounds. Sadie spent her short life in a puppy mill type situation. Sadie is a sweet loving girl. She needs time to trust and move forward. She is timid and shy but that is normal for Berners like Sadie who have spent their lives just having pups. She really does not care for loud male voices, she would do best with more mild manner males. Her forever family should be patient, patient, patient with her. While at the same time work with her to bring her forward a few steps each day. Her adopter will need to teach her all of those pesky house manners. She needs an adopter who will slowly introduce her to the world since it is all new to her. For this reason she is considered a flight risk at this time and requires a yard with 6 ft fencing. Sadie is not a fan of small animals of any shape or type, so no cats, small dogs or any other small animals in the home. She seems to do okay with big dogs. She is currently living with 2 male Berners. She is slowly starting to play with the Berners. She has never lived with small children. Small children will be too much for her to handle. Teenagers should be fine. Once Sadie begins to trust and bond with you, she is a love bug. She will lay with you for hours on the couch for pets. Sadie is a sweet girl who wants to forever home to call her own, one that will work with her and slowly introduce her to the world. We do not transport our Berners. Adopter should plan to travel to Sadie's foster home in Morrisville, PA to pick her up. Her adoption fee is $450.00. If you think Sadie just might be the girl for you, please complete our adoption application and submit to: info@bfwrescue.org.

Story
Meet Sushi! Sushi is a 5 year old spayed female Bernese Mountain Dog/Standard Poodle who weighs 66.9 lbs. She was born at a breeding kennel and kept as a "pet," though she lived outside. The family decided it was best for her to be rehomed so she could live the life she deserves inside a home. We are grateful for the opportunity to keep Sushi safe and provide her with the chance at finding the devoted family she desperately deserves! Transitioning to living in a home versus roaming free on a farm has gone much smoother than we expected for this girl! She does enjoy being outside but seems content to be inside as well. She absolutely loves people and the attention they give her. In her world, strangers are non-existent! Sushi has gotten along well with other dogs but will need a home without cats. She loves to play with her canine foster brother and has been great with every dog she has met! Training is off to a great start, and she seems eager to please. She is crate-trained and will automatically go to her crate when she sees her foster mom preparing her meals because she knows that is where she is served. Her tail is in constant motion and her smile stretches from ear to ear. We cannot wait to find this sweet girl the devoted forever family she so desperately deserves... could that be yours??Help us continue to step up for dogs like Sushi and consider donating towards their medical care: https://secure.givelively.org/donate/all-4-paws-rescueInterested in adopting? Story
Are you in your lover girl era? Emmie is! Emmie says no boys allowed and would prefer a girls only home. Emmie is the sweetest girl who will make a wonderful companion. Emmie is a 2 year old Bernese Mountain Dog. She was surrendered to Zoe's House after not getting pregnant (thank goodness one litter of babies is more than enough). Emmie is extremely friendly behind cages or gates but once the barrier is removed she shows her scared side. Emmie will take a considerable time to warm up and be social but once she does you will get to see her sweet side. She prefers people who let her come to them. Emmie loves to snuggle on couches and in bed. She loves to play with soft squeaky toys. Emmie would love a fenced in backyard, while she walks amazing on a leash she really loves the freedom to run in the backyard. She loves to roll around in the grass. She would do wonderful in a home with other dogs who can show her the way. she has been around large& small dogs, cats and guinea pigs too! She does wonderful with them all and loves to play!! Emmie has lived in a foster home with 2 children and while she doesn't mind them (especially when they are sleeping) she would prefer to be in a home without them. Visiting children would be fine! Emmie is house trained, she doesn't chew, she goes in a crate while her foster family is at work, she prefers to be out of the crate in the evenings. Emmie is spayed, uptodate on vaccines & preventatives, and microchipped. If you think you could be the home for Emmie please apply. Zoes House Kennel #9117 Sinking Spring, PA 19608

Story
Meet our newest mixed breed puppies. They are about 12 weeks and were saved from a puppy mill in Lancaster county. They are shy right now, but are coming around to life outside of the mill. As with all dogs we save from puppy mills, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learn to live in a house and around people. They will need time to trust their new family before working on training, such as house training. This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Puppy mill dogs tend to do best in a home without young children as well (10+), though this determination is made on a case by case basis. Each pups adoption fee of $800 covers their vaccines, microchip and spay/neuter. Please apply to be considered at our website www.angelsretreat.org
