Story
Marlee's story began the way far too many Great Pyrenees stories do. She was found wandering alongside an older female Great Pyr we believe may have been her mother. Like so many livestock guardian dogs, Marlee had been left to roam unsupervised on rural property, with little guidance, socialization, or human connection. Over time, dogs like Marlee lose their sense of where they belong—and sometimes who they belong to. The older female, lovingly named Marilyn, has already found her happy ending with a wonderful family, complete with children, chickens, and a small hobby farm to call home. Now it's Marlee's turn. When Marlee first came into rescue, she wasn't sure about people. She kept her distance and needed time to learn that human hands could offer comfort, kindness, and safety. Her foster mom has patiently shown her what love looks like, and watching Marlee blossom has been nothing short of beautiful. Today, Marlee welcomes affection. She seeks comfort from the people she trusts and reveals the sweet, gentle soul that was hidden beneath her uncertainty. She is crate trained, wonderful with other dogs, respectful of cats, and good with young children, though she can still be a little shy when meeting new people. One of the most endearing things about Marlee is how deeply she feels. She is sensitive to the emotions of her humans and forms meaningful bonds with those who care for her. Every day brings a little more confidence, a little more trust, and another glimpse of the incredible companion she is becoming. Marlee is looking for a patient, loving family familiar with the Great Pyrenees breed—someone who understands that these magnificent dogs need both security and consistency to thrive. Because Great Pyrenees are known for their climbing and roaming instincts, she will require a securely fenced yard with privacy fencing or wrought iron containment. If you've been looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and a story of resilience, Marlee may be the one you've been waiting for. She has done the hard work of learning to trust. Now she just needs a family who will never give her a reason to lose that trust again. To learn more about adopting Marlee, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Be sure to tell us where you live and describe your fencing. Marlee is ready for her forever home. Could it be yours?   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 9, 2026, 11:55 am

Story
Meet Bones!  Some dogs just need someone willing to see the world a little differently. Bones is one of those dogs. At just over a year old and around 80 pounds, Bones is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees/Heeler mix with a big heart, a joyful spirit, and a smile that lights up a room. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, on heartworm prevention, and ready to find the family he's been waiting for. Bones is deaf, but don't let that fool you—he is incredibly smart and highly trainable. He already knows hand signals for 'come' and 'sit' and has shown just how capable he is of learning. He loves people, thrives on interaction, and wakes up every day excited for whatever adventure comes next. Raised by an experienced rescuer, Bones has lived around multiple dogs and has zero history of aggression toward other dogs. He loves canine companionship and enjoys playtime with dogs of various sizes. Because he is a big, enthusiastic boy who doesn't always realize his own size and strength, very tiny or fragile dogs may not be the best fit simply because his play style can be exuberant. Bones has spent much of his life outdoors but is also comfortable spending time indoors when supervised. He adapts well and enjoys being part of the family. Because Bones is deaf, he cannot hear growls, hisses, or other warning signals from animals around him. Unfortunately, there have been incidents involving cats, and he should not be placed in a home with cats or other small animals. This is not a reflection of aggression, but it does mean he needs a home where everyone can be kept safe.  The decision to rehome Bones was made with tremendous love and care. He is not a problem dog. He is a special dog who deserves a home that understands his unique needs and appreciates everything that makes him wonderful. If you have a soft spot for dogs who are a little different, a little extraordinary, and completely deserving of a chance, Bones may be exactly the companion you've been looking for..Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 9, 2026, 11:55 am

Story
When you first meet our beautiful puppy, Grace Under Fire, you are immediately drawn to her huge presence and beauty at just 15 weeks old and being 28 pounds.  There’s something about her that feels different—like you’re looking into the eyes of a puppy with a fun soul that needs a great deal of love.  She was born accidentally to a litter of 7 puppies and her Mom was a Great Pyrenees and her dad was an Australian Shepherd.  Her litter was born February 26th and she  was raised by the owner of her mom and then brought to a small shelter in Tennessee.  There the puppies spent the next 4 weeks with no adoptions happening.  The shelter director starting making calls and pleas to rescues and Critter Cavalry Rescue could not resist helping these beautiful puppies.   They needed foster care and guidance on what a family love and guidance means individually as puppies.   This incredibly beautiful big girl has the look of a a large Australian Shepherd and has the softest fur and biggest appetite. She does so well with another dog to play with but could certainly be the only dog.  She is having to work hard on knowing all the housebreak times and learning what a crate is all about as well.  We want this girl to grow up successfully in a fenced yard and to learn leash manners right away.  She loves to sleep most of the night in her puppy bed on the floor by the bed.  But Grace is more than just beautiful looking - she is a thoughtful girl that is sensitive and quiet.  She would lay by your feet while you work all day long.  She loves to run and romp in the yard and this is why we are looking for a family with a fence.  She is a smart, observant puppy who takes in the world around her and responds with curiosity and heart. She adores snuggling with her  foster mom and happily soaks up attention, pets, and love from everyone she meets. Watching her romp around with joyful zoomies is pure happiness in motion.  If you are looking for a big dog in your life then Grace will most certainly fill that bill for you.  She should grow to be a 75+ dog much like her Momma.  She is ready for adoption NOW.... spayed and has had all her shots, this girl is ready for a life changing move to a new family that will teach her what unconditional love is all  about.  If you would like an application from Critter Cavalry Rescue then please send an email request for an application to ccrnewengland@gmail.com  We transport on 6/5 to the northeastern corridor and make designated transport stops along the way.

Story
Meet Alfie Your Gentle Guardian with a Heart of Gold Alfie isn’t just a dog. He’s the quiet protector who watches the horizon while the world goes about its business. Sweet, gentle, and endlessly loyal, Alfie was clearly born to love and to keep watch over the people and animals he calls family. He gets along beautifully with all dogs, and yes, even chickens and cats get his respectful nod of approval. Alfie enjoys playing with his doggy friends, strolling the property fence line like a seasoned supervisor, savoring snacks (quality control is important), and ending the day exactly where he belongs—curled up close for cuddles. Picture this: Alfie riding along on the ATV, ears perked, calmly overseeing the ranch as animals and humans go about their day. He would make an exceptional ranch hand, farm companion, or country sidekick, but he’s just as happy being a devoted best friend who takes his guardian role seriously… and gently. ✨ About Alfie Under 2 years old Neutered Microchipped Up to date on vaccinations Housebroken Impeccable manners Alfie is young, eager, and ready to devote his life to protecting and loving his forever family.
