Story
Meet Boomer!
Boomer is an 11-month-old male Bernese Mountain Dog mix with a HUGE heart, a playful personality, and more love to give than he knows what to do with! This handsome boy is an absolute sweetheart who ADORES people and would happily spend all day soaking up affection and snuggling with his favorite humans!
Boomer is the perfect combination of playful and loving! He absolutely loves playing fetch, chasing after his favorite toys, and spending time with other dogs. He’s great with dogs of all sizes and enjoys having canine friends to play with. But when playtime is over, he’s more than happy to settle in for some cuddles!
And this boy is a total lovebug! Boomer thrives on attention and loves being close to his people. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be included in everything, whether that’s a fun adventure, a game of fetch, or simply relaxing together.
Why you’ll love Boomer:
Incredibly sweet and affectionate
HUGE cuddle bug
Absolutely adores people
Loves playing fetch
Big fan of toys and playtime
Great with dogs of all sizes
Does well with teenagers
Making progress around cats
Playful and full of personality
Potty trained
Crate trained
Young with so much potential!
At 11 months old, Boomer is still very much a puppy, and he’s learning how to manage all that excitement! He can be mouthy during playtime, particularly with men, and is still learning what is and isn’t appropriate to put his mouth on. He’s also working on his leash manners. Because of his playful mouthiness, we feel a home with older, dog-savvy children or teenagers would be the best fit. He’s already done wonderfully with teenagers!
Boomer has also spent time around cats! He was initially very interested in them, but with continued exposure, he’s becoming more comfortable and learning to settle. He may still try to chase or initiate play, but he’s responsive to redirection and will walk away when the cats move somewhere out of reach. With slow introductions, continued socialization, and appropriate supervision, we believe he has good potential to live successfully with feline friends.
Boomer is already potty trained and crate trained, giving him a fantastic foundation! What he needs now is an active, committed family who understands that he’s still a young dog and is willing to continue helping him develop good manners through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement.
He’d thrive in a home where he receives plenty of physical exercise, mental enrichment, interactive playtime, and opportunities to continue learning. Having another playful dog could be a wonderful bonus, too!
Boomer has SO much love to give, and underneath all that puppy enthusiasm is an incredibly affectionate, loyal companion just waiting to blossom. He doesn’t need a perfect family—just one that’s ready to invest in him, embrace his goofy puppy personality, and help him become the amazing dog he’s capable of being.
If you’re looking for a big-hearted, playful, snuggly best friend and are ready for all the fun and responsibility that comes with raising a young dog, Boomer might just be your perfect match!
