Story
Ollie is a lovable dog who gets so excited around people that he can hardly contain himself. He’s highly motivated by treats, which should make training a breeze. This 2-year-old, 46-pound Bernese Mountain Dog/Australian Shepherd mix arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 4/6. He’s tricolored, with a white-tipped tail and soft, fluffy fur. Ollie is friendly and full of personality—he loves to jump up for attention and beg for treats, so a bit of training in manners will be helpful. He already shows promise by sitting for treats and taking them gently. Playful, happy, easy-going, and affectionate, he does his business outside and walks fairly well on a leash. With some time invested in training, Ollie could be an exceptional companion, ready to join you for TV time after outdoor play or a long walk.

Story
MACDUFF MacDuff’s Must Haves: - MacDuff loves his people and is a gentle giant. True to his lineage, he is happiest when everyone is in the same room under his watchful eye. - One MacDuff is a lot of love! He has no desire to share his home and family with any other pets. - MacDuff would enjoy having a backyard to romp around - somewhere he can stretch his legs, sniff around and explore at his own pace. - Sometimes, doods take a longer journey to adoption. MacDuff has spent time with our training partner before heading to a foster home. As a result, the big guy has honed his skills and is ready to be a great companion. - Adopters MUST live in the DFW-area and be willing to work with MacDuff’s foster and trainer through a slow adoption process. Several meetings will be required before the adoption can be finalized. - MacDuff’s “let’s not” includes fireworks, thunderstorms and vet visits. Therefore, he is currently on an anti-anxiety prescription regimen. A stable, bonded home should lessen the need for the medication over time. - MacDuff’s family will be patient, loving and continue with medication and training. Personality: - MacDuff is a gentle soul who loves heavily and with all of his heart. He rewards patience with total devotion. - Have errands to run? No worries, MacDuff is totally trustworthy left loose in the house while you're gone. - In addition to being smart, he is food motivated and wants to please very badly. This dood is ready to learn new skills! - Big Mac is learning to be brave—he recently watched the neighbors saw down a tree. That was so noisy! The yak chew reward was worth it! - He’s a fabulous companion—part weighted blanket, part trusted confidant, part enthusiastic bestie. 100% good boy! - Did you say “ball”? Yes, please! Are You The One for MacDuff? MacDuff’s adoption fee is $650 . He is HW-negative, current on vaccinations and HW/flea preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical costs and food for Doodle Dandy dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like MacDuff a second chance. If you would like to fill out an application and you are within the DFW area, please click on one of the Adoption Application buttons on this page https://www.doodledandyrescue.org/all-adoptable-doodles/macduff and select MACDUFF from the drop-down menu.

Story
Finley is a super fun sweet dog. He just wants to please. He’s great with chickens too. He is crate trained and does not potty in the house. He’s good on a leash and loves to go on outings. Fin comes with 5 months of flea and tick medication. I’m moving to a smaller place and can’t keep him, which I’m very sad about. He needs a yard he can get exercise and run in. Someone who can really take care of him. 😢

Story
Meet Barney! This pup was wondering around our community for weeks as a stray. Catching him wasn’t easy but let me tell ya, now that he’s had a taste of AC he’s never going back to the stray life haha. Barney in typical Great Pyrenees fashion is an absolute LOVER. He wants do be near his humans and he wants that Pyr fur all over you! Great with dogs big and small although not super playful. Definitely more of a wallflower with the occasional zoomie. Leash work is still a work in progress which for this breed is a lifelong project. What he lacks in that department however he makes up for in looks and charm. -House/Crate Trained -Good with other dogs -Over the top loving -Moderate energy -Loves being with his human. Barney is such a sweet and well tempered boy that woudl do best in a quiet house, as he can be a nervous nelly. We do not ships dog out of state. All adopters must travel to Dallas to meet their potential animal in person before moving forward with an adoption trial run.
