Story
Meet Journey! Journey is a vibrant little dog, she loves to live life to its fullest which, of course, involves long walks, snuggle time, lots of tasty snacks, and a family to spoil her. She does tend to be shy with new people and may need a few days to settle into her new home and begin to feel safe. Journey does well with other dogs - she's always silly and playful when she meets new friends - but has no previous experience with cats. She does need to be in an adult only home due to her fearful nature with new people. **if you are interested in Journey, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and come in during our open hours**

Story
Meet Bonbon!Bonbon is the sweetest little 13lb bichon mix and he looks amazing in his cozy sweater 🥹Bonbon came to us a severely tangled, matted disaster. He was so matted that it was painful and the skin underneath was raw, inflamed, and showed signs of urine scalding. He was so uncomfortable that he didn't want to be touched. Now that he's been groomed and he's feeling like a whole new dog...he's ACTING like a whole new dog! 💜He's about two years old so he's still very young and he's definitely a shy, submissive kind of guy. It will take some time and patience to win him over but in the time he's been with us, he's definitely warmed up to staff and he's an absolute sweetheart. He likes to stick close to his handler/whatever person he's the comfiest with. He's showing signs of turning into a bouncy, higher energy kind of guy so you'll need to be able to keep up with him! Bonbon does well with other dogs, has been fine with cats, and would do well with older kids (12+). Since we aren't sure what sort of mix he is, we can't guarantee that he is hypoallergenic. He's good on a leash (could change as he gets zoomier and more confident) and doesn't seem to know any cues or he just hasn't settled in enough to want to show off yet.To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Story
Berries n Cream is a lovely pup who is spending time in a foster home as we work on managing her KCS, also known as dry eye`. She is a sweet girl who is very wary of being touched around her eyes and face due to her eyes not receiving the treatment she needed. Berries is tolerant of other small, calm dogs and would do well in a quiet home. She recently had special implants put into her eyes that will dispense medication that will help limit the amount of medications she will need temporarily while we desensitize her to being touched around her face. She is already responding well to treatment and allowing her foster to touch around her face more. We hope to transition her to an adopter who will take this over. She will need lifelong eye drops, so needs an adopter with a good relationship with their veterinarian to continue her eye treatment. If you are interested in taking over her foster care as a trial adoption, please reach out to us at forms@lowellhumanesociety.org for more info.

Story
Casper is about 13-14 years old. I had Casper for about 10 years and unfortunately, I can no longer take good care of him. He is a good dog and friendly, but not much with cats, especially when they get closer to his food. I have two cats and Casper sometimes chases them away and my fear is that the cats may scratch him badly if he gets close enough. Casper has diapers on since he sometimes urinates indoors if not taken out often when we are not home, so he is not well trained on this to last long. He poops only outside, so he is well trained with #2s and he lets you know when he needs to go out to do his business. He has some bad teeth and he is not able to chew on hard food. I sometimes mix hard and soft food since he prefers softer food due to his teeth. Looking for someone that can adopt Casper and take better care of him. He is a sweet and lovely dog and wish I can keep him, but my circumstances have changed and can no longer take good care of him. Thanks
