Story
WILLIAM — THE SWEETHEART SHADOW WITH A SOFT-BOUNCY PLAY VIBE
William is the definition of an easy, lovable puppy. Around 10–12 months old, this guy is gentle, cuddly, and wants to be part of whatever his people are doing. He’s curious in the home, explores a bit, then settles right down. No chaos, no drama.
He’s mostly house-trained and still polishing the last bits, but he’s smart and catching on fast. Crate training wasn’t consistently worked on in Texas, so that will be part of his transition into his new Massachusetts foster home. He’s been respectful indoors — no destruction and no nonsense — and he’ll bark at people or animals passing by the window but otherwise keeps things easy.
With other dogs, William is a total gem. He enjoys dogs of all sizes and ages and adjusts his energy well. His play style is soft and bouncy — friendly hops, gentle paw taps, playful movement without overwhelming anyone. He also loves toys and can entertain himself when needed.
He’s lived comfortably with dogs, cats, and kids, and he handles it all beautifully. He warms up quickly, loves people, and leans into affection like he’s been waiting for it his whole life. Very “Velcro,” but not needy or demanding.
His energy level is moderate. He enjoys playtime and walks, then happily relaxes. Car rides are exciting in a fun way. He’s still learning commands and leash skills, but he genuinely tries and improves every day.
No guarding, no concerning behaviors, no sensitivities to touch, and no reactivity. Just a sweet, well-mannered young dog ready for structure and consistency.
Favorite things: stuffed toys, exploring, and being near his people.
Three words: cute, adorable, loving.
Best home: almost any. He may be happiest with another dog in the home.
*Training will be required due to his age of coming into our care*

To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.
PLEASE READ:
• If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.
• All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.
• Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.
Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.
Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.
