Story
Her name is Poppy. She's mostly a good girl, and is very loving. Ever since we got her though it's been a struggle trying to keep her from peeing on the carpet right in the middle of the hallway. I have tried the same approach that I've done with other dogs by telling them no, showing them outside, praising them when they go outside. I even installed an automatic dog door and trained her to use it so she could have full access. She will poop and pee outside. no matter what, she finds it necessary to poop and pee inside everyday. I've dealt with this for 8 years and it's to the point where she either lives most of her life in a cage when we are not constantly monitoring her, or I have to be using the rug scrubber all the time. I don't want to leave her in there that much. I have stuck it out for this long but it's not going to get better here, and she has taken a great deal on my mental health. I do not have the knowledge or resources to fix her. I hope somebody can.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tank and Teddy, a bonded pair of Bichon Frise senior brothers.  Their owner died turning their world upside down.  We want to keep the brothers together, so please don't apply to adopt just one. Tank and Teddy are described as friendly, 'couch potatoes' that are in good health, and look and act more like 10 y/o pups. Tank and Teddy are UTD on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please understand that we get many applications for our available dogs. We review each application and do our absolute best in choosing a home that best suits each dog and his/her needs and personality. Hi!  I’m Rose but my foster Mom also calls me Rosie, Rosie Posie, Rosemarie and other silly things. My favorite things are soft beds, yummy food, treats and other dogs.  I like being out in the yard in the sun sniffing things and exploring. I’m usually very quiet but if my siblings start barking I will follow along. I don’t like storms and really loud noises…..it makes me nervous. I didn’t have a very good start in life and remembering it makes me sad so Foster Mom will explain.   Rose was a puppy mill Mom who was being disposed of because she was not “useful”anymore. Most likely because she developed a mammary tumor. Our vet removed it with great margins and she remains cancer free. She was terrified of people (who can blame her) and she did not understand stairs or outside or grass. Her comfort was found in dogs and that is still her comfort space. Rose has made great progress while in foster care but she still has fears of people. She will willingly take a treat from my hand and sleeps in bed with me but prefers to be as far away as possible.  She has learned to go upstairs but still will not go down. Part of the hesitation could be because her front legs are slightly shorter than her back legs and I believe she is afraid she will fall forward but she does need more training steps and leash work.  The ideal home for Rose is someone who understands and is patient with her fears and has the time and patience to continue to work with her.  Another dog in the household would be great but not a must. While a fence would be great it’s not a must as long as the forever home understands that she must be kept in a secure harness and collar on leash while outside. And of course prior experience with puppy mill dogs is a plus.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 29, 2025, 4:52 pm
