Story
Meet Kelce – The Happy-Go-Lucky Companion Ready to Steal Your Heart Age: 2 years old  Size: 10 lbs of pure joy   Kelce was found as a stray and never reclaimed, but he’s ready to leave his past behind and start a bright new chapter with a loving family.   Kelce is the definition of fun-loving, energetic, and lively. This little guy has a happy-go-lucky spirit that’s absolutely contagious. He thrives on attention and loves nothing more than spending quality time with his people. Whether it’s playtime, cuddles, or just hanging out, Kelce is happiest when he’s by your side. Kelce gets along well with other dogs. He recently met a cat and showed no negative intent, meaning he could potentially live with a feline friend. He is also likely to do well with dog-savvy, respectful children. Inside the home, he already demonstrates a good understanding of house manners. Kelce is looking for an active family who will include him in their daily adventures. He’d love a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely burn off his energy. Due to his vocal tendencies when crated, he may not be the best fit for apartment living or shared-wall situations. He also pulls on leash when excited, so a family committed to positive reinforcement training and regular walks would be perfect for him. Kelce also knows some entertaining tricks and dances on his hind legs for attention and treats! Kelce will require regular grooming to keep his coat looking and feeling great. He is not suited for tethering or long periods alone—Kelce wants to be part of the action. He already has a great training foundation and is eager to learn more in a patient, loving home. Kelce is seeking a committed, active family who will give him the love, structure, and adventure he deserves. In return, he promises endless loyalty, laughter, and a lifetime of happy memories. He can’t wait to meet you and show you just how much love he has to give—forever. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. ##2656030##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Howdy y’all! I’m Yuki, a 4-year-old Maltese mix. I was found wandering the streets of Detroit and was lucky enough to land in a wonderful foster home! While living with my foster family, I’ve discovered that I love cuddling with my humans. I’m happiest snuggled up on the couch or bed, just relaxing and enjoying the moment. I’m not super interested in toys, but I do get small bursts of energy—if something is nearby, I might shake it around and zoom around for a bit! I walk on a leash, though I could use a little more training to stay to one side since I sometimes like to weave around and accidentally trip my humans. I am extremely food-motivated! I love my meals so much that I use a slow feeder bowl. I enjoy almost all treats and am learning to sit and wait patiently until I’m released to eat. I do well with other dogs as long as they aren’t right up in my face, and I would benefit from slow introductions—especially with larger dogs. Cats are totally fine with me too; I don’t mind them at all. &#226&#128&#139 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. January 23, 2026, 9:01 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.UPDATE: Bella 2 yr old Bichon / Maltese, potty pad trained, loves to play with toys. Bella is a jumper! She can jump baby gates with no problem, she stands and walks on her hind feet. Meet the Quartet of Cuteness!   Bella, Nala, Olaf and Max are all Bichon Frise / Maltese mixes.  They may be a mom, dad and two offspring but we aren't certain.  What we do know is they all came from the same home.  Their owner died and the family was unable to keep them.  Each one has a distinct personality:  Bella is described as an 'attention hog', while Nala is more laid back and will not seek attention, but if you are willing to give it she will happily accept it.  Max seems more outgoing than Olaf, who prefers at this point to 'observe' his world.  All are said to be good with other dogs and children. All will need time to adjust to a new home and routine.  Even though they are said to be good with other dogs and children, they have only lived together, so all will need slow and proper introductions to children and other dogs.  We don't know how they are with cats.  They all need basic training, including potty training.  Vet appointments for needed vaccines and spay/neuter are being done soon.  Because of their breed, each will require ongoing grooming, an additional cost to consider. We know these littles won't be with us for long so if interested in adopting any of them please apply soon.     Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue requires a Spay/Neuter Contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization at the time of adoption. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. HDDCR holds a deposit [$50 for dogs, $25 for cats] in addition to the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog or cat was spayed/neutered by the date stipulated on the Spay/Neuter Contract. The deposit will be refunded to the adopter if spay/neuter was done according to the Spay/Neuter Contract signed by the adopter. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The microchip is transferred to the adopter once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a one-time $15 microchip enrollment fee, paid at the time of adoption.  Microchips are enrolled with AKC Reunite.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Rocki.  This little furball is a Maltese mix and weighs about 13 pounds.  He is a friendly and playful pup, of about one year old.  He likes to play with his foster mom's bigger dog.  He is playfully 'mouthy' like a puppy, but is working on breaking this habit.  He also likes to 'steal' socks and run off with them, but is not a destructive chewer.  Rocki is doing very well with potty training.     Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue requires a Spay/Neuter Contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization at the time of adoption.
