Story
Meet Winston! Winston is a sweet 3 year old Shih Tzu and Poodle mix weighing 14 pounds. This little guy has had a rough start — found as a matted and overgrown stray in Detroit, Winston was understandably shut down and fearful in the loud, overwhelming shelter environment. But now, in his foster home, he is making wonderful progress! At first meeting, Winston is very shy and unsure. He tends to warm up more quickly to quiet, patient women and does not always take too kindly to men. Although he is much more of a "ladies man," he has grown to enjoy the company of the men in his foster home. Given time, Winston blossoms into a loving and affectionate companion who truly wants to connect. He is very food and treat motivated and will dance and beg for a yummy snack! Winston is fond of sleeping in dog beds, but if given the option he would love to sleep in bed close to his people.  Winston walks nicely on a leash (no tethers please) and is crate-trained. He’s a relatively quiet boy who mostly barks only at unfamiliar faces (and men). He has done well cohabitating with other dogs and has no issues with cats. Winston would thrive best in an adult-only home where he can feel safe and relaxed. This special boy will require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. Winston is looking for a patient and loving family who will give him the time and care he deserves — a family to call his forever. Could you be the one to open your heart and home to Winston? He’s ready to shower his forever family with love once he feels safe and secure.  If you’re looking for a devoted, gentle, and quiet companion, Winston is waiting to meet you! Story
Meet Bentley! Bentley is a 6-month-old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix (DOB: 7/2/25) weighing about 10 lbs, and he’s ready to find his furever family! This sweet boy came into rescue when his owner could no longer care for him, and he’s been winning hearts ever since. Bentley can be a little shy at first, but once he feels comfortable, his loving and affectionate personality shines. He bonds closely with his people and enjoys being part of the family. He does well with other dogs and has also done well around cats, making him a great fit for a multi-pet home. Because he’s still young and learning, Bentley would do best with dog-savvy children who understand puppy manners. He has a good foundation with house manners and is crate trained, but as a puppy, he’ll need a consistent routine to continue building good habits. Bentley is just starting to learn about leash walks, so a home with a physical fenced yard would be ideal for safe play and exercise while he’s gaining confidence. He rides well in the car and would love an active family that can keep up with his playful puppy energy. As a Shih Tzu/Poodle mix, Bentley will require regular grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best. Bentley is searching for a family who will be patient, loving, and ready to commit to him for life. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion to grow with, Bentley may be your perfect match Bentley is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedNeuteredADOPTION FEE: $400 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI.
