Story
Fizzgig aka Fizzly aka Fizz is a spunky 7 year old who loves everyone except one of our Newfies. He’s been a loving companion to my mom until she passed in 2022. Soon after he started attacking our dog and we haven’t been able to change that behavior. He’s a huge couch potato with occasional zoomies while chasing his tale.

Story
Meet Muffin and Chewy, two adorable Shih Tzu mixes who have spent years together and are hoping to find a loving home where they can stay side by side. They are in need of a new home because their elderly owner can no longer care for them. Muffin is a gentle 9-year-old sweetheart weighing about 10 pounds. She can be a little shy at first and prefers to take her time getting comfortable with new people and situations. When she feels safe, her playful side shines through! She loves playing fetch, exploring the outdoors, and showing off commands like sit and lay down. Muffin is happiest with patient, understanding people who will let her build trust at her own pace.Chewy is a 7-year-old bundle of personality weighing around 6 pounds. He absolutely loves treats, attention, and being close to his people. Cheerful and energetic, Chewy is always ready to make sure he gets his share of affection—and maybe a little extra! While he enjoys cuddles and pets, he prefers keeping all four paws on the ground and isn`t a fan of being carried.Together, Muffin and Chewy make the perfect pair. They clearly enjoy each other’s company and have formed a strong bond over the years. They provide comfort, companionship, and confidence to one another, and we would love to see them adopted together. Both dogs are pad-trained and have also done well going potty outside. They previously lived with an elderly owner and have adapted well to their routine. They are smart, loving dogs who have learned commands in the past and would likely continue to thrive with gentle guidance, patience, and plenty of positive reinforcement. They are both very sweet dogs and have been around children generally ages 8 and older. They have had limited interaction with other dogs and animals, so their reactions in those situations are somewhat unknown. They are good alert watch dogs and bark when people walk past the house or ring the doorbell, but they have never shown aggression toward people. We would like to find a great new home for them together with someone who will provide them with a more fulfilled life where they are loved and have more access to the outdoors.Estimated birthday~~6/15/17_____Standard and Special Breed adoption fees includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please click on the links for adoption application and more information:paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-f

MEET HAZY:  Meet Hazy: The Sweetest, Snuggliest Introvert Looking for Her Quiet Forever Hello, my name is Hazy. I’m about 2 years and 7 months old, and my journey hasn’t been an easy one. I was found as a stray in Detroit, scared, confused, and covered in painful mats. I didn’t know kindness, and the world felt very big and loud. My time was almost up until my angels at Furever Tails Animal Rescue saved me. Now, I’m safe in a foster home, and I’m learning what love feels like. I’m ready to find my person—my true forever home. Here’s what you should know about me: My Personality:I am a certified introvert and a gentle soul. I’m not a social butterfly; I’m more of a "stay-at-home-and-snuggle" kind of girl. Loud noises, busy places, and lots of strangers are too much for my nervous heart. I dream of a calm, low-key home where the vibe is peaceful. My Friends: I can politely coexist with other calm, mellow dogs my size and with cats, as long as they respect my space (I’m not much for playdates). But I don’t need animal siblings—I would be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, soaking up all your attention. My Home Needs:Because I startle easily, I *must* have a securely fully fenced yard. I should never be left outside alone or tethered. Social walks are scary for me, so my outdoor time will be best in my own safe yard. My People: I am currently living with a wonderful, patient foster family with two women and two rescue-savvy teens. I do best with calm, predictable adults or older teens who understand shy dogs. A home without lots of visitors or chaotic energy is my ideal. The Most Important Thing: I am *not a "turn-key" dog*. I will need time, immense patience, and quiet consistency to learn to trust. I am not recommended for first-time dog owners. But I promise you this: once I know I am safe with you, my love is boundless. I will become your most loyal shadow, your bed-snuggling expert, and your quiet, devoted companion. I am looking for a hero—not someone who wants a party, but someone who offers a peaceful harbor. Someone who sees that a shy, timid dog has a huge capacity for love waiting to bloom. If you have a quiet heart and a quiet home, and you’re ready to commit to earning the trust of a sweet, sensitive soul… then I might be your girl. Could you be my safe place? Interested in giving Hazy her happily ever after? Please fill out an adoption application and we will get back to you shortly. Share to help Hazy find her perfect, patient match! Story
Meet Nigel! Nigel is a charming 6-month-old, 10-pound Shih Tzu with a heart as big as his fluffy personality. This sweet and happy little gentleman was surrendered when his owner was no longer able to care for him, and now he's ready to find a family that will cherish him for the rest of his life. Nigel is a social butterfly who genuinely enjoys being around his people. Whether he's following you from room to room, snuggling on the couch, or heading out for a leisurely neighborhood stroll, he's happiest when he's included in the fun. He has previously lived with children, does well with other dogs, and recently met a cat without showing any concern, making him a wonderful candidate for many different family dynamics. Like any young puppy, Nigel is still learning the ropes. He is crate trained and has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners, although he did have a few accidents while settling into his foster home. With patience, consistency, and a predictable routine, he continues to make great progress. Nigel enjoys leash walks and would love an active family that will include him in their daily adventures. One thing to know about this little traveler is that he can become motion sick on longer car rides. Thankfully, a dose of Dramamine before extended trips helps keep him comfortable so he can enjoy the journey too. As a Shih Tzu, Nigel will require regular professional grooming to keep his handsome coat looking and feeling its best. He is not just looking for a home—he's looking for a family that will make him a cherished member for years to come. If you're looking for a happy, affectionate companion with a playful spirit and endless love to give, Nigel may just be the perfect addition to your family. He's ready to find the people who will love him furever. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). Story
Meet Gigi! Gigi is a spunky, playful, and affectionate 10-pound Shih Tzu and Miniature Poodle mix born on 5/9/23 who is finally discovering just how wonderful life can be. Rescued from a breeder that was shut down after years of breeding, Gigi spent the beginning of her life surrounded by numerous other small dogs with very little exposure to the outside world or the love and comforts of being a cherished family companion. Since entering foster care, Gigi has absolutely blossomed. With the people she knows and trusts, Gigi is confident, social, and full of personality. She loves being part of the family, happily seeks out attention, enjoys playtime, and isn't shy about showing off her silly, happy side. Her foster family has invested countless hours helping her build confidence through patience, consistency, and compassion, and it has been incredible to watch her transformation. While Gigi has made amazing progress, she can still be a little reserved when meeting unfamiliar people or entering new environments. She appreciates gentle introductions and a family that understands trust is built over time rather than expected immediately. Once she feels safe, her loving, loyal personality shines brightly. Gigi is looking for a quieter home with adults only or older, dog-savvy children who will continue nurturing the confidence she has worked so hard to gain. She thrives with routine, positive reinforcement, and a patient family that celebrates her continued growth. Having never learned to walk confidently on a leash before rescue, Gigi will REQUIRE a secure physical fenced yard for her safety. She is not a candidate for tethering or invisible fencing, and extra caution should always be taken outdoors as she continues gaining confidence in new experiences. Gigi enjoys the company of other small dogs and would likely appreciate a canine companion. She can be a little hesitant around larger dogs until she gets to know them. She also does not seem to mind cats. She has demonstrated an excellent understanding of house manners and has embraced the joys of being a beloved family member. As a Shih Tzu and Miniature Poodle mix, Gigi will require regular grooming to keep her beautiful coat healthy, comfortable, and free from matting. Gigi's story is one of resilience, patience, and second chances. She has come so much farther than anyone could have imagined and is now ready to share her heart with a forever family. In return, they'll gain a loyal, playful, and loving companion who proves every day that even the most timid beginnings can lead to the happiest endings.
