Story
Hello my name is Jojo, I'm from Minnesota! Jojo is a gentle and shy little lady with a heart full of love. At 13 years old, she’s lived a quiet life and is wonderful with all people, including children. Though she hasn’t been around other animals, her calm demeanor suggests she may adjust with time and patience. Previously housetrained, Jojo has recently experienced some changes that have caused her to revert, so she’ll need a kind and understanding home to help her get back on track. She’s a sweet, sensitive soul who thrives on gentle affection and a calm environment. If you’re looking for a mellow companion who just wants to feel safe and loved, Jojo could be your perfect match. From the Vet: Jojo has been in rescue for a few months now and TBB was able to determine that her GI symptoms were related to a condition called Cushing's disease. She is being well managed on a prescription diet and cortisol control medication called Vetoryl. Now that Jojo has a good management plan, we know that in the right home, she will be an amazing companion!

Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       DOB: 12/07/2022 Requires another dog in home: Yes, another well-balanced dog is required Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: No Weight: 10 pounds Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, required Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Are you that kind of special person that's looking for not just any dog who immediately loves you and wants to be with you all the time, but one who makes you work for a relationship instead? Kind of like a cat but perky and house trained?. Corbin is that dog, he is  very afraid of being touched by humans but he definately loves them.  He's come a long way in his short life and he actually really enjoys being pet and scratched, but on his own terms. He often approaches to be pet when you wake up in the morning being flat on your back and perhaps a little groggy. If your sitting, you're much less scary.  Corbin loves to play with other dogs and truly loves the companionship of other dogs big or small. A role model dog is really important for Corbin as is a fence to keep him safe. Corbin is house trained, and crate trained, and a very good listener.  Corbin struggles to trust people and no doubt it's because of past experiences. He is the sweetest little guy with a huge heart and you can see that in him every day.  He wants to trust and he loves to be loved, his past is just in his way. If you're that special person who knows how to work with a frightened dog, who has endless patience to wait for him, and be on his schedule, Corbin is for you.  Corbin is an overall, very happy dog who loves the feel of the sun on his face when he's sitting outside, with other dogs and LOVES treats.  All he need snow is a forever home with lots of patience, unconditional love and a family that will help him be the best he can be! With time he will learn to trust – we are taking baby steps. Will you take those baby steps with me? Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. To apply for a dog from All Dog Rescue, please fill out our online application at www.AllDogMN.org.  All Dog Rescue only adopts to homes within 60-miles of the Twin Cities. Visit our FAQ page to learn why. Would you like to add one of the sweetest Pecans to your life? Our foster dog Pecan sure hopes so!Pecan is a 3 year old Bichon mix who came to us after being stray for a bit. He was a bit of a matted mess but after a good grooming session, had a great glow-up! We are still working with him on his tear stains but those should also clear up.Pecan's daily goal is to be with you as much as possible. In your lap, under your feet, Pecan doesn't care, as long as you are together! Do you work remotely? Pecan would love to hang out in your office as you have a conference call (he promises to be quiet).Do you have another dog? Great! Pecan loves other dogs and is good at doing what another dog wants to do - be calm, hang out, play, he's down for anything. Do you have a cat? Great! Pecan is good at ignoring them, but he might try to play just in case they want to be friends.Do you have older kids? Cool! Pecan likes kids who have some dog experience and understand that sometimes dogs need space and peace and quiet. Do you have a beard? Cool, just know that Pecan might need a moment to check out and approve your facial hair.Pecan is house and crate trained and friendly to everyone. He loves baths, which is great because he will need regular grooming. Once you see his 'before' photo, you'll understand why we want to make sure he is never reminded of that again!December 7, 2025, 4:09 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Lainey is a 6-year-old female Bichon mix with the softest eyes and a tender heart that’s still learning how to feel safe. She is a breeder release, which means much of her early life was spent without the love, stability, and everyday experiences most dogs know. Because of that, she is learning a lot of new things and the world is sometimes overwhelming to her. Lainey is a beautiful, sweet, and sensitive girl who is just beginning to understand what it means to live inside a home, to trust people, and to be a family pet. She will need continued time to decompress, build confidence, and learn that she is finally safe. Patience, consistency, and gentle reassurance will help her continue to blossom. She is very attached to her foster mom and happily follows her like a little shadow. Being close to her person makes her feel secure, and she is at her happiest curled up beside someone she trusts. Because she can be quite anxious, Lainey will do best in a home where someone is present most of the day. A fenced yard is important for her comfort and security, and she would do best in a home without shared walls, as new or sudden noises can startle her. As Lainey is still learning about living in a home, she is currently about 60% house trained. She can be left to free roam, but her new family should understand that accidents will still happen as she continues to figure things out and learns your schedule. She truly does not enjoy being kenneled — and when she feels confined, she will passionately make her displeasure known, which sounds a bit like a high-pitched teenage girl scream. For her, the kennel feels scary and overwhelming. With patience, consistency, and a predictable routine, she will continue to gain confidence and make steady progress. Lainey enjoys the company of other dogs and gets along well with the cat in her foster home. She can be nervous around men at first, but with gentle introductions and time, she learns to trust. Older, respectful children would be just fine for her. Lainey has no teeth, so she will need to remain on a wet diet, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying life’s simple pleasures — especially love and companionship. Lainey isn’t looking for perfection. She’s looking for someone who understands that healing takes time, and that the most beautiful transformations happen slowly. In the right home, with patience and a kind heart, this sweet girl will continue to bloom into the devoted, loving companion she was always meant to be. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
History and A Note from the Foster: Meet Shay, the most petite and charming Bichon you'll ever meet. She had a traumatic past and is working really hard to overcome that! When she first came into our home she would hide behind furniture and shake. We saw no signs of happiness and no signs of confidence. Shay has begun to blossom but will take a patient home to continue this progress. She is proving us wrong constantly and really is a happy gal! Shay has so many terrific qualities - crate trained and doesn't make a peep overnight, potty trained with consistent breaks, playful and goofy with other dogs and never aggressive with humans or other dogs. She is even starting to yip and play bow at me in the yard! I also get the most aggressive tail wag from her when I come home from work or let her out in the morning! She has not been around kids yet. While I know she would be gentle with them, they might scare her a bit if they chase her. Shay had a neglectful past which makes her fearful of humans. Her grooming and dental was also neglected for years. She did have 15 teeth pulled, but now she has the cutest snaggle tooth that her top lip is constantly getting caught on. It's one of my favorite things about her! Due to this she would love to eat wet food, or if that's not feasible you can soak her food in milk or water. She does take anxiety meds with her meals which will need to be continued as well. Her rust-colored fur around her paws and mouth is from nervous licking, however her nervous licking has really dwindled down! There are many "remedies" out there for rust colored fur. It's nothing bad, it just has to do with what's in her saliva. Some allergy testing might help as well! The perfect home for Shay MUST have: -No expectations for her. She may come out of her shell after 1 week or 1 year. It's impossible to know when (or if) she will become a "normal" dog. She may always be shy and progress isn't always linear. It has really been a blessing seeing her gain confidence and show joy. It's important to celebrate small successes! A home with experience with shy or shut down dogs is a huge bonus. She does not seek affection or touch from humans yet, however she has started to approach if I have a treat and beg for human food alongside the other dogs :) -Another dog (or two) around her size. She will look to your dog to not only be her safety blanket but also her teacher. Shay has 3 foster siblings. One is her size and shares her quiet temperament so they get along wonderfully and love to cuddle. The others are also the same size but a bit more aggressive with their play style and not quite the right fit for Shay long-term. Shay is always trying to play with her foster siblings! She play bows and spins in circles yipping in attempt to play. -A fenced in yard. Shay is still fearful of the leash and a walk is still too overstimulating. She loves to run around a fenced in yard as her primary source of exercise and is doing so fantastic with potty training! She has not had an accident inside in months. If you are looking for a quiet companion that needs some more patience and TLC then Shay is your girl. She really deserves the world and all we want to see is her be happy!

Story
History: Zipper is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Zipper is a Bichon breeder release. When I first picked him up, he was very fearful of the world. Each day though, he comes a little bit more out of his shell. In just a week, he has become comfortable in my house, and I can see the typical Bichon-like, happy personality coming through. He is happy whenever he can be with his people (or other dogs) in a safe space. His laid-back personality makes him easy to take care of, and he seems grateful to be in a home environment. He likes playing with my dogs, and is also happy to sleep on the couch. He doesn’t bark much and doesn’t like his crate. He sleeps at night in a dog bed in his own room without any problems. We are working on potty training. He wears a belly band, as he does have problems with marking. He is comfortable going out to go potty in the yard, and hasn't been interested in any walks so far.
