Age: Estimated DOB 04/13/25 Weight: 11 lbs Dog friendly: Yes, requires companion dog in the home Cat friendly: Unknown/not tested Kid friendly: Unknown/not tested Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Meet Daisy! Daisy is a one-year-old Bichon mix with a sweet personality and just the right amount of playful energy. She's the kind of pup who is always happy to see her people and is ready to bring lots of love and laughter to her forever home. This little gem is house trained, rides wonderfully in the car, and settles nicely in her kennel. While she's perfectly content sleeping in her crate, she'd be just as happy curling up next to her favorite human at bedtime. Daisy loves people and enjoys being a lap buddy, but she's independent enough that she won't be glued to your side every minute. Daisy gets along beautifully with all of the dogs in her foster home—even the bigger dogs adore her! She has lovely dog manners, plays respectfully, and understands when another dog needs space. One of Daisy's favorite pastimes is finding the perfect perch to watch the world go by through the window. She's curious without being noisy and isn't much of a barker. If you're looking for a loving, well-mannered companion who is playful, affectionate, and easy to have around, Daisy checks all the boxes. She truly is a gem of a pup, and one lucky family is going to adore having her as part of their lives! Adoption Fee: $725

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Do you want to meet me? I will be at Nokomis Tattoo in Minneapolis, 4933 S 34th Ave. Minneapolis 55417 for an Adoption Event on Saturday, Aug 1st from 1:00-3:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   If you’re looking for a gentle, devoted companion, Coco may be the perfect match. This adorable Shih Tzu/Dachshund mix is as sweet as they come and has a quiet, loving nature that makes her easy to adore. One of the cutest things about Coco is the way she walks—she has a little bunny-hop style that is guaranteed to make you smile. Coco is happiest simply being near her people. She loves companionship, whether it’s from humans or other dogs, and is content to quietly follow you from room to room throughout the day. She enjoys cuddling, relaxing nearby, and keeping an eye on her favorite people. While she can be a little shy when first meeting new people, it doesn’t take long for her to realize she’s safe. Once she does, she becomes incredibly trusting and affectionate. Coco gets along wonderfully with all dog-friendly dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion. However, she does not require another dog as long as her people are home frequently and able to provide the companionship she loves. This sweet girl enjoys soft treats, cozy places to nap, and having a comfortable spot where she can watch for her people. Her favorite setup is her kennel with the door left open or a soft blanket-filled box near the doorway where she can keep an eye on everything while waiting for her family to return. As part of her daily routine, coco receives eye drops in the vending and 1/2 tablet of Benadryl twice a day with a little canned food. She’s very cooperative and does well with this. Coco isn’t looking for excitement or adventure—she’s looking for love. She would thrive in a home where she can be included in daily life, receive plenty of affection, and spend her days close to the people she loves most. If you’re searching for a loyal little shadow with a heart of gold, Coco just might be the very best girl you’ve been waiting for.   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Don’t let her name fool you—this little lady isn’t an old soul at all! Dorthy is a sweet, hilarious, energetic Shih Tzu with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life. Found as a stray with an extremely matted coat, she had to be shaved down when she entered rescue. But if you think that dampened her confidence for even a second… think again! Dorthy proudly rocks her fresh haircut and struts through life like the diva she is.   Equal parts athlete, comedian, and cuddle bug, Dorthy is always ready for whatever adventure comes next. While she still loves to play and explore, she has really settled into home life and has become the ultimate little companion. She adores being with her people and is happiest curled up in your lap. If she isn’t snuggled on you, you’ll almost certainly find her at your feet or faithfully following along by your side.   She loves to stay close to her people and is always happy to join you for a walk. One of her favorite activities is greeting everyone she meets along the way—she never turns down a few extra pets from new friends! She also rides beautifully in the car and would be thrilled to tag along for dog-friendly outings, coffee runs, patio lunches, or wherever the day takes you. Dorthy hasn’t spent much time around children in foster care, but she certainly seems interested in making friends! On walks, she happily soaks up attention from the neighborhood kids and often tries to circle back for just one more round of pets.   When she’s at home, Dorthy still enjoys having fun. Soft squeaky toys are her absolute favorite, and if she isn’t happily squeaking one around the house, you’ll likely find her working on a twisted bully stick or another favorite chew. She has a playful spirit that keeps everyone smiling, but she also knows how to settle down and is just as content cuddling up beside her favorite people for a cozy afternoon.   Dorthy also surprised her foster family by being wonderfully house-trained! As long as she’s kept on a consistent potty schedule (about every four hours), she does an excellent job. She’s currently learning that spending short periods of time in a crate while her people are away is no big deal but she also does wonderfully if left out to relax on the couch & free roam. She’ll let you know she’d rather come along at first, but after a little protest, she settles in nicely.   At bedtime, Dorthy likes to keep her options open. Some nights she’s happy to snuggle in bed with her humans, and other nights she prefers stretching out in her own fluffy dog bed nearby. She’s independent enough to enjoy her own space while still wanting to be close to the people she loves.   She came into foster care full of puppy like energy but has shown that under that nervous energy, she is a well-mannered, sweet girl. She still has plenty of playful energy, but she now settles beautifully around the house and enjoys relaxing with both her people and her canine friends. She would still benefit from continued positive reinforcement and basic training, but she has blossomed into an incredibly easy and rewarding companion.   Because Dorthy is young, active, and enjoys having a canine friend, she would love a home with another playful dog who can match her enthusiasm. She loves all dog friendly dogs- big or small, and it’s a major bonus if they join her for zoomies!! That said, she would also do okay as an only dog if someone is home with her a lot and her family is excited to make her the center of their world.   If you’re looking for a funny, affectionate little sidekick who will keep you laughing, happily accompany you wherever you go, and then curl up in your lap at the end of the day, Dorthy is ready to steal your heart. Story
Matilda is a sweet little girl look ing for a family that will love having a tiny shadow by their side. She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe and comfortable, you’ll have a loyal best friend for life. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, doing chores around the house, gardening in the backyard, or just going about your day, Matilda wants to be right there with you. She loves being involved in everything you do and is happiest when she’s close to her person. Matilda is quite the chatterbox! If you talk to her, she’ll happily “talk” right back. She also loves to play, and her absolute favorite toy is a ball. She’ll never say no to a game of fetch. She has done very well with cats and has also been good with other small dogs. Because Matilda likes to bark, especially when left alone, she would do best in a home without shared walls, such as a single-family home rather than an apartment or townhouse. Matilda appears to have some separation anxiety and doesn’t enjoy being left by herself for long periods. She would thrive with someone who is home often or can continue helping her build confidence while she’s alone. In return, you’ll gain one of the most devoted, loving companions you could ask for. If you’re looking for a loyal little sidekick who will love you with her whole heart, Matilda may be the perfect match. Hypothyroidism: This dog has hypothyroidism, a common condition where the thyroid gland doesn't produce enough thyroid hormone. It is easily managed with a daily medication and routine veterinary monitoring to ensure the dosage remains appropriate. With consistent treatment, dogs with hypothyroidism typically live happy, healthy, and active lives.

Story
Oreo is a 9‑year‑old neutered Shih Tzu, he’s up to date on shots. He developed allergies around age 7 and has atopic dermatitis, causing itching, paw redness, and occasional ear irritation that can be controlled with a consistent care/routine. He just needs ocassional medicated baths, medication (Numelvi) and will need ongoing vet care. He does need a dental done within the next year. Unfortunately his ongoing health care requires more time and vet resources than we can provide. He needs an experienced, calm home with no other pets or children, ideally adults only, and someone who has time for a routine. He is sweet, clingy, and very loving. He is potty trained (will cry at the door), low energy, food motivated, and knows many tricks. Good on leash but cannot be off leash outside, low energy, likes walks but likes being indoors most of the time. This is not an easy decision, most of all he needs a loving home that will prioritize his health and keep monitoring for his comfort.
