Story
I received Mazi from a coworker of my mother, and he is now almost 3 years old. Unfortunately I am no longer able to keep him due to my schedule being so busy with taking care of my grandmother, who is now living with me, and also working. I think he would do well with a homebody or someone who is at home often. I also think someone who maybe experienced or has the time to work with him would be good as well. He does show some signs of anxiety and anxiousness, and does take a little time to get comfortable with unfamiliar faces. When in a comfortable environment he is pretty calm or relaxed.

Story
Hi, I’m Martha! I’m a 5-year-old, 10-pound Bichon with a an incredibly sweet nature. I may be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, my gentle personality shines through. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy their company. I’ll need a patient adopter who understands that I need time to build trust. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy their company. I also love exploring new spaces (even if I still need some help with house training—oops!), and I’m always curious about my surroundings. I was a perfect angel for my bath, and while I may be a bit reserved at first, I promise I have so much love to give. A calm, understanding home without young kids would be best for me as I continue to gain confidence. If you’re looking for a sweet, curious little companion who just needs a bit of patience and love, I might be the perfect match for you! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Brie is a small bichon from a puppy mill. She is 2 years old and weighs about 10 lb. Due to lack of socialization, she is very shy. She prefers the company of other dogs and currently lives with both large and small dogs. Brie loves to walk and explore all new smells. She does not appear to be afraid of vehicles or bicycles. At times, Brie will potty on her walks but mostly she does her business in the fenced yard. She is working on communicating when she needs to go outside and also knows how to use a doggy door. In the evening Brie enjoys cuddling with the other dogs on the couch. She will sit with her foster on the couch and sleeps in bed with them Brie is very food motivated and so far has been easy to train. She knows "wait", so that the foster can pick her up. Her favorite word is "cookie". She also will come when called. Brie's favorite pastime is running with the dogs and will chase squirrels but has no idea why. She is starting to recognize that toys can be fun and has been investigating them. Her playfulness is starting to show. She will run up to her foster and growl (talk), with her tail wagging like crazy. *******BRIE'S NEW HOME MUST HAVE A PHYSICALLY FENCED YARD******* and at least one other dog to play with. She still has many fears and needs a patient adopter to help her move past them. Her adoption fee is 450, which covers all of her vetting and microchip. ##2183089##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Libby, a sweet 5-year-old Bichon who has just embarked on a new chapter after being rescued from a life of breeding. Weighing in at about 12 pounds, she’s ready to find her forever home!   Libby is a bit shy and nervous, like many dogs from a puppymill, so she’ll thrive in a loving and patient environment. A home with another friendly dog would be perfect for her, as she loves to bond and learn from her furry friends. Since Libby isn't leash trained yet, she will need a safe, fully fenced yard to explore (no invisible fences, please!).   When she’s outside, Libby comes to life! You’ll see her tail wagging and her curious nature shining as she explores her surroundings. Inside, though, she’s a calm and gentle companion, enjoying quiet moments with her doggie buddies and blending into the background, hoping you don't notice her.  Although she may seem a bit timid at first, we believe that with your love and patience, Libby will learn to trust and flourish.   Libby has already had a spa day with professional grooming, but remember she’ll need regular grooming to keep her looking her best. If you think you can provide her the loving home she deserves, we can’t wait to hear from you! Libby is ready to bring joy and warmth to your family! We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have a martingale collar, you can purchase one from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog's safety and security. Libby is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $475Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 25, 2025, 9:25 am
