Story
Meet Roger! Roger is a sweet 6–8-year-old Bichon–Poodle mix who loves people and gets along well with both dogs and cats. Since he was only recently neutered, he can sometimes be a bit too friendly with other dogs, but he responds well to gentle reminders about personal space. He’s an excellent couch companion and sleeps quietly through the night on his foster mom’s bed. Roger walks great on a leash and enjoys his daily outings. He’s also making terrific progress with housebreaking, especially when taken out regularly. Roger arrived malnourished and is currently about 7 pounds, but he’ll benefit from gaining a couple more. He’s a loving, easygoing little guy ready for a home where he can continue to thrive.

Story
Well hello there! We’re Lacey and Lilac — a mother-daughter duo with matching hearts and wagging tails. I’m Lacey (darker markings), 8 years old, and my daughter Lilac (lighter markings) is 4½. We’re Bichon/Jack Russell mixes, about 17 pounds each, and we’ve been side by side our whole lives. Wherever one of us goes, the other follows — whether it’s curling up on the couch, going for a walk, or greeting new friends with happy tails. We’re sweet, loving, and full of personality. We adore people, are great with kids, and get along well with other dogs. We both walk nicely on a leash and love exploring together, but we’re just as happy snuggling up after a stroll. What we want most is to stay together. We’ve been each other’s comfort through everything, and we couldn’t imagine being apart now. If you’re looking for twice the love, twice the joy, and two perfect companions who already come as a team, we’re your girls! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
I adopted him from a previous owner who could no longer keep him, and he is 2 years old. I’m looking for a stable, loving home where he can get plenty of attention, training and not be left alone for long periods, because he really thrives when he’s around people. He’s affectionate, playful, sensitive, loyal, energetic, and very people-oriented. An overall sweet dog who just needs someone with the time and consistency to match his personality. I feel he would do well in a family home. The past owner and I are both single women with no children. He needs a home where there is someone at home at all times or most of the time. He has separation anxiety.

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.NAME: TridentBREED: Bichon Frise x Pomeranian DOB: Jul 10, 2025 (16 weeks)GENDER: maleHome Recommendation: Trident would do best in a calm, patient home that can help him continue to build confidence and trust. Having another gentle dog in the home would likely help him feel secure, as he often looks to other dogs for comfort. Hes a sensitive soul who finds peace in cozy spots and close companionship, so a nurturing family willing to give him time and reassurance would be ideal.Personality: Trident is a sweet little shadow who loves to follow his foster sister and snuggle right up to her. He looks to her for comfort and has even started to initiate play. He enjoys the comfort and companionship of another dog.KIDS: YesDOGS: YesCATS: YesTraining: Trident is very comfortable in his crate and slept through the night in a covered crate. Hes still getting used to wearing a leash, so leash training will be the next focus in the coming days. Hes also working on perfecting his wee wee pad traininghes already peed on the pad twice and even pooped outside, which is great progress!WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Trident were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.Visit WiseAnimalRescue.org to fill out an adoption application.Adoption areas include: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.

Outside, hes still a bit unsure of his surroundings, so a calm and patient home would be best for him. His ideal family will give him the time and reassurance he needs to adjust at his own pace, gently encouraging him to explore the world beyond the front door. A quiet home with a predictable routine and access to a safe outdoor space would help him continue to build confidence and feel secure.Personality: Dentyne is curious and slowly becoming more confident, exploring new spaces on his own. With gentle encouragement and patience, hes sure to come out of his shell and show more of his brave personality as he adjusts to his new surroundings.KIDS: YesDOGS: YesCATS: YesTraining: Dentyne sleeps comfortably in his crate both at night and during the day. Hes still learning how to walk on a leash and will need continued training and patience in that area. Hes doing well with potty training, mostly going on the pad with just a few accidents as he continues to learn.WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Story
Buttercup and her sister and brother, Bubbles and Brodie were surrendered to a kill shelter because their owners just had too many and couldn’t find homes on their own. Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd this year so they are 8 months old. Buttercup has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. She’s also microchipped. She weighs just under 7 pounds and is probably full grown now. Buttercup is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. She needs a little practice on the leash and she’s making great progress on house training. Buttercup is a little bossy but plays great with her brother and sister. we feel like she would be fine with other dogs after getting to know them but would always want to be the boss. She would be fine with older children and we are not sure about cats but the bossy part would be the same at first. If you would like to give this super affectionate love bug her forever home, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you do not see a response, please check your spam folder.
