Story
Meet Barney..... What a sweet guy Barney is a 15 week old Bichon - Poo. He was an unsold pup from a puppy mill. Barney is very social and confident. He loves to talk to you and gets super excited when u pay attention to him. We think Barney is absolutely adorable. We estimate his full growth weight to be around 20 - 25 pounds. He is sweet, playful and is having a great time in foster. Barney definitely needs a grooming. We are hoping people will connect with him for his personality and not be turned off by his over grown shaggy appearance. Using a wee wee pad for potty training. Story
Meet Blossom..... Blossom is a 5 year old petite Bichon - poo. She has spent her life as a breeding machine in a midwest puppy mill. Those days are now behind her. Blossom is under 10 pounds. She is very sweet and gentle. She seems very friendly with other dogs, and should be fine with cats. Blossom is considered hypoallergenic. We think her best placement would be in a quieter home where she can thrive and feel comfortable and confident. Blossom is current on all vaccines and will be spayed on April 15th. We will be showing her before her spay, but she will not be able to physically leave the foster home until April 18th. Send an email to Onepawatatimerescue@gmail.com and request an application *** The only way to get an application is to send us a direct email. We do not accept the AdoptApet application Adoption fee is $400 We adopt in the Tri State Area ONLY NY, NJ, CT, PA, DE, MA, PA, RI,

Story
Meet our new crew… first up Winston! Born 5/14/20, this handsome boy has the most expressive thoughtful human-like eyes and expression and is a thinker for sure. He’s confused but curious about the world outside his former home and is warming up quickly. He’s never been on a leash or exposed to much outside of his former dog-filled home and will need some time and patience, and a calmer adult home with at least one other small doggie friend to help him feel comfortable. He would be totally shell-shocked not living with other dogs. Winston is 20lbs, a bit chunky right now, neutered, updated on shots. While he could pass for a bichon/poo, we were told these dogs are all some kind of mix of poodle, dachshund, Shih tzu, and terrier and they each resemble different breeds. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Winston in Northern NJ See below for the full story of Winston and his relatives: It never seems to be just one dog at a time getting surrendered anymore 😩 These are 4 of 14 dogs needing to be surrendered all from one home. They started with a few dogs, didn’t get them spayed/neutered, yada yada yada, now 14 dogs need new homes as it’s become too much for the owners to care for. We took in these 4 to help avoid them having to go to the already severely overcrowded shelter, and animal control is working with the owners to slowly get the rest safe placements as space opens up in our and other rescues. These little ones were definitely loved and seem to be in pretty good shape physically, all between 2-4 years old. All are scared to be leaving behind the only home they have ever known and haven’t been on leashes or socialized with other people. But they are warming up and taking treats already and we. An tell they are going to be very sweet little ones. They aren’t bonded to each other, but due to their nervousness they will likely need to go to homes with another friendly dog in the home as they wouldn’t know what to do with themselves if not around dogs. They are said to be a mix of poodle, dachshund, terrier, and Shih tzu, although they all look like completely different mixes. Winston the boy is 20lbs and resembles a poodle/bichon. Scruffy little Chipmunk girl is 14lbs and looks like a Yorkie/wire haired doxie. Her sister Emma could pass for a long haired chi/pom/papillon and is less than 10lbs. And the most terrified (and therefore our favorite of course- she peed and pooped all over us in terror carrying her in) Rebel is a 20lbs mohawked scruffy doxie/terrier looking creature with an underbite and pink nose. They will all be vetted and be ready for adoption very soon as we get to know them better. If you have a calmer adult home with at least one other dog and are interested in giving one of these little ones a home, email njwoof@cs.com to meet them in Northern NJ once they are ready Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
Meet Mr. Scout! This almost 3 year old 13lbs mix is another of the 10 skittish but sweet little dogs we took in from a home who ended up with too many dogs due to lack of spay/neuter 🤦‍♀️ He’s warming up and looking to bond to someone, taking treats, and following his new and old doggie friends around learning from them. He looks like a bichon/poodle type mix but these dogs are all said to be a mix of doxie, poodle, Shih tzu, and some kind of terrier 🤷‍♀️. All look different, even some littermates don’t even look related! He is much more comfortable around other dogs due to his past and will need a quiet adult only home with at least one other doggie friend already in the home to help him adjust. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Mr Scout in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. Story
A Package Deal! Eddie age 16, and Charlie age 8, lost their Mom when she went to assisted living and couldn't care for them any longer. They are currently with our foster and are now ready for adoption. Although Charlie is fine without Eddie... Eddie really relies on Charlie and will cry if he is separated from him so we do not want to separate them so they are a "Package Deal" and need to be adopted together. They should be in a home with no other pets as Charlie... although is fine with other dogs outside of the home... in his own domain he can guard his food from other dogs... so best for them to be the only dogs living in the home. We understand that taking on a 16 year old dog may be a lot for someone so we are willing to cover vet bills for Eddie's life if you adopt both Eddie and Charlie together. Eddie has a some arthritis, and we had our vet give him a shot of Bedinvetmab (aka Librela) & some gabapenten for pain... He should only require 1 or 2 more shot in the next two months 28... and then he should be good. Already he is like a new dog! He is now jumping up on the couch when before he could bearly walk without stiffness. Amazing! Charlie is a real character and loves to cuddle with his humans. He can be a little possessive of his human if other dogs also want attention (another reason why he and Eddie should be the only pets in the home) . He likes going for walks or running around a fence in yard. If you can give both Charlie and Eddie a furever home, please fill out an application at this link: https://bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html If you have already filled out OUR application, please email NNJBichonRescue@yahoo.com and I will look up your app by your email. Charlie and Eddie are currently in foster care in South Jersey... so applicants should be withing 3 hours driving distance of there.
