Story
About Me: Name: Pedro Breed (or best guess): Shih Tzu/Bichon Approximate Age: 3 yr Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 12 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving family Why In Rescue: Owner Surrender Profile:   Toby and his friend Pedro were surrendered to rescue when their family was no longer able to care for them.  They get along as a pair, or can be adopted separately.  Their prior owner said they are housetrained.  They are good in the car, sleep in a crate, and walk well on leashes.  They had been exposed to older children and said to be fine with cats.  If interested in Pedro and/or Toby, please fill out the pre-adoption application. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS June 16, 2026, 11:23 am

Story
Meet Oliver! He so badly wants to start the next chapter in his life with his new forever home. Oliver has been through so much. His owner sadly passed away after being her companion for his entire life. He is a very sweet loving boy. Oliver: approx 12-13 yrs old, 14 lbs, up to date on shots, neutered. He is so cute; white fur, floppy ears, curly tail. He is very friendly and docile, barks at strangers but only for a minute. He can experience high anxiety when left alone or if confined, prefers to be able to see outside, obeys commands (sit, stay). He is housebroken and lets you know when he wants to go out. He will walk on a leash but pulls if he is in a hurry to find a place to pee. He would love to find a home where he can snuggle in bed with you! Good with all ages including toddlers, likes other dogs, barks to get their attention but is actually a little afraid of dogs he doesn't knowI, and cats are an unknown. Oliver is good to go potty either on a leash or in a fenced yard. This boy is a dream companion and is looking for his ideal match. An adoption fee is required. Oliver is located in Wadsworth IL. Please reach out to Jill Clark @ 847-772-2098, jilljclark20@gmail.com, on messenger; or feel free to apply for Oliver via the link attached. https://www.cognitoforms.com/TinyPawsSmallDogRescue1/AdoptionApplication

Story
Bitsy led a life in a breeding mill, she produced litter after litter making money for her owners, until she got too old. Luckily for her she was released to us! No more breeding for Bitsy, she's fixed now. It took her a while to get used to an envoirnment that wasn't behind bars and guess what, with love and gentle hands .... she bloomed. She now needs someone who will continue the gentle guidance and reassure her that she's safe. She is potty pad trained and all vetting has been done. She likes other dogs but a calm household where Bitsy can shine is encouraged. Her adoption fee is 400 please apply at thecharlieprojectdogrescue.com Please visit our website www.thecharlieprojectdogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

Bentley and Princeton, two bonded 3-year-old Maltipom/Bichon brothers currently available for adoption through Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue. As they are closely bonded, they must be adopted together. About Bentley and Princeton: - Sex: Neutered males - Weight: Bentley (9–10 lbs), Princeton (12 lbs) - Appearance: Bentley is black and white; Princeton is cream-colored. - Temperament: Both are friendly and get along well with other dogs. They are suitable for homes with children aged 8 and up. They both enjoy sleeping in bed, though Princeton may take a little longer to acclimate as he is skittish, but he has come a long way. - Activities: They love running after each other in the yard, and grooming each other. Playing with toys and chewing on their favorite treats like bully sticks, yak sticks, chicken feet, and turkey feet. Adoption Requirements: - Fenced Yard: A secure fence is required. Story
Bentley is being fostered in Illinois. Bentley has some vision.Bentley, a reserved, easy-going gentleman is looking for a calm, relaxed housemate/best friend. He was recently interviewed about his special search. What would your perfect “digs” include?-I am very shy, so it would have an area to sleep and dine privately with some storage for my soft, plushy toy stash. In addition I would need a second cozy dog bed for relaxing and just “being” closer to my human(s) in the common area.-Ideally it must also include green space. I love to be outdoors! The words “outside” or “walk” just start my tail a-wagging uncontrollably. (See video) A leisurely jaunt at a medium waddle with an occasional relaxed trot or a super fun “Sniffari” is enjoyed several times a day!Would you share the qualities you need in a housemate/best friend?- My person will need to be patient, intuitive and willing to take the time for trust building. (As an introvert, I can be a puzzle and full of contradictions). Here are a few examples....I require a large perimeter of personal space, but offer the same to my person. I am low-maintenance, well-mannered and not an in-your-face attention-seeker, yet I also feel safe and the most comfortable knowing my human is nearby. This makes me an ideal housemate for a retiree or a remote worker.A cuddle bug I am not, yet I have been known to fall asleep in a lap occasionally and I find head scratches or butt and back rubs absolutely irresistible.Meeting humans is difficult for me, yet I approach well-mannered dogs happily. What do you consider your finest quality?-I am agreeable. Dress me up in a silly sweater, wipe my dirty toes when I come in the house, give me a bath, take a car ride.....as long as I am with you, I’m all in.And your weakest?-I am working on conquering my insecurities. I get anxious when I am home alone for a long stretch, so I sometimes have potty accidents.Bentley, what else would you like to tell folks?-I sleep through the night and during the day it is my mission to provide quiet company, put a smile on your face and love in your heart.BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
