Say hello to beautiful Opal! This sweet girl is about 9 years old. She’s a rescued puppy mill mama Bichon. After many months in her foster home, she has made progress, but that progress is always guarded and often accompanied by a swift return to where she was before the progress (she`s a one step forward, two steps back kind of gal). She watches my every move with curiosity/suspicion, lol. She likes to be near the me and the pack when I`m home but doesn`t necessarily want to cuddle in with us. She`s more of a `I`ll be over here watching you, but you can reach over and pet me if you want,` type of pup. She does get excited when I get home from work and will sometimes do zoomies in the yard with the big boys, but she doesn`t want me bursting her fun bubble by trying to get too close. I have built trust with her to the point where she wants to be by me, wants me to pet her, lets me do anything I need to do with her (besides go for a walk), but she is usually still nervous during it all. Heartwarming are the times when she is truly relaxed and enjoying some love from me - those times are slowly building in frequency. Love and patience are paying off. Original Profile:  The Wrestler Pack is a group of young dogs from 3-6 whose owner passed away.  They were left in poor grooming condition and had fleas.  They have now been clipped, bathed, treated for fleas, and updated their vet care.  They have been started on vaccines, deworming, flea/tick/heartworm preventative.  Prior to adoption they will be spayed/neutered, heartworm tested negative, rabies vaccinated, microchipped and passed a veterinary exam.  The have also received dentals if needed.
