Friendly with dogs and cats, and sweet with adults and children, although he is a bit shy at first, he usually adapts to his environment quite quickly. He is shy and grumpy to meet new dogs, but a little time, he begins to trust, he has no problem with them being small or large despite his small size. He loves receiving pampering, lots of love, hugs and kisses, playing with balls even if they are bigger than him, and sleeping in a big, warm bed. Potty trained (Sometimes he still has accidents). Milo is a very fun-loving energetic dog who loves cuddles and playing. He is 6 years old up to date on all vaccines and is neutered. He can sit and speak. No formal training. My name is Jewels and I am a true GEM of a dog. I am a Black Mouth Cur Mix. The shelter handlers say I am a sweet guarded girl who just needs confidence with strangers. I attach to people very quickly once I get to know them and I have a calm demeanor. I speak when I have something to say. I know how to sit and stay, and love being with my person. I would make an EXCELLENT ranch dog as I’m very outdoorsy. PLUS, I’m dog friendly too! The shelter says that I can only be released to a Rescue Group due to behavior with strangers . They just never gave me the training to understand that strangers can be friends too. I sometimes growl and my back hackles go up when I am approached by a stranger because, well, I am afraid of what they might do to me. I was very well taken care of so I'm very sad that my owner didn’t come to find me. I sure hope they are OK. I’m potty trained with no medical history and weigh about 50 pounds. We adopted Daisy from the SD Humane Society. Daisy was in the shelter for nearly two years prior to us adopting her. She is 3.5 years old and is VERY eager to please and food motivated, which has made training a breeze. She knows all basic commands and has strong recall. Daisy is a full throttle type of gal. She loves long walks, playing with her toys, and being near her humans. While she loves cuddling on the couch, she'll do best with active owners and a backyard to zoom around in. Daisy is great with other dogs outside of the home and is not leash reactive. Unfortunately, our dog is not getting along with Daisy which is why we need to rehome her. Daisy would likely do best as the only dog in the household. She may do well with another dog that has a similar personality depending on the circumstances. Daisy can get very excitable (which can be cute, but not for a dog of her size), so a home without young children would be best.

Lana is a Black Mouth Cur, a possible mix but unknown. We adopted her a year ago from a rescue, she was rescued from a shelter with her siblings. She is a wonderful young dog with a quiet and sweet disposition, she rarely ever barks; only if someone is at the door she doesn't know. Quite submissive. She enjoys long walks/hikes, areas to run, lounging in the sun, and playing with dog friends at doggie daycare. She is content with lounging during the day until her next walk. She has trained a bit to be off-leash. She knows some basic commands. She is wonderful with kids (we have a toddler and 8 year old she is very careful with). She is a large dog at 65 lbs and would do best with a large yard or access to a place for daily exercise.
