Avalon is 4mo. A big bundle of energy. He needs an active household with room to run. We are working on potty training, unsuccessful so far. He loves cuddles and will sleep on you if allowed. I love him, he's just to much for me to handle. He lives with 3 cats and a small dog.

Story
Rosita is a very affectionate young girl who is playful and very smart. She has caught on well to basic commands (sit, down, wait, paw). She is housetrained and LOVES her crate for down time and sleeping.Rosita is currently fostered in a home with two older dogs (ages 7 and 8). While she has adjusted well to living with her two canine companions, she may do best as an only dog or in a home with an experienced dog owner.Rosita experiences leash reactivity outside the home that she is currently working on with the support of a behavior plan and is showing the beginnings of some ability to control and redirect her “big feelings”.Rosita will require a home that can provide her with continued work on her behaviors, a home with the time and patience to give her the engagement and training that her young and active mind needs. She loves her plush toys and benebones, and has never chewed up furniture or items not meant for her chewing. She loves games and snuffle puzzles.Rosita is a wonderful loving girl (she still loves to sit in your lap and bring you her toys) who would make a great companion as long as her behavior needs met.

Story
Like your guy to be chiseled, handsome, wise and oh so sweetly soft? Meet Cooper, he`s the whole package. He`ll gently put his paws in your lap to ask for some snuggles. He really shines with people and can share space and play with a canine friend too. He loves leisurely daily walks if that`s in the cards, and doesn`t even pay attention to occasional squirrels and cats. His energy is between low and medium - of course he`s a solid believer in beauty naps. When he has extra energy in the house, he’ll grab a toy or a chew and tackle it. He`s trusted loose at home alone, is non-destructive and is very house trained. He’s shown solid skills with older children in his foster home. Does he sound like just the right fit you`re looking for? Hurry to meet him onsite when in the shelter (check location on his link) or when in foster, use the ADOPT ME button to start a conversation with his foster provider. He`s advocated for by his many friends and fans including ClassicCaninesATX who help make land bridges out of the shelter for displaced mature shelter dogs. Know that your fostering or adopting a shelter animal is vital to Austin`s no kill mission. Don`t delay another day when a shelter dog is waiting to resume their life.

Story
Riven`s foster family reports: Riven is a good dog. Like, literally. Exact definition. He loves to play in the backyard or go on a walk but is also down for a good hang shesh in the living room watching TV or having a snack. When hanging in the back yard, Riven likes to bask in the sun, chew on big sticks, & wander around for the next good scent. When he does get the zoomies, he is super fast! He runs around the yard in giant bounds. Inside, Riven enjoys chewing on a kong or other durable toy. He loves to get lots of pets and is totally down to cuddle when it is quiet.Riven knows most basic commands (sit, stay, drop, come, off) and is crate trained. He happily does almost anything for a treat. He walks well on a leash and loves to stretch his legs. He is mildly reactive towards other dogs when leashed – allowing him a lot of space around other dogs would be good as he and his owner learn how to work through this. Our resident dog thinks that Riven is the bee’s knees and is constantly asking him to play. Although they do play rough at times, it is always respectful and at the first yelp, they will take a break. He has impressed us with his patience and calm demeanor. He is very tuned into his humans, and prioritizes them over distractions (including the resident dog). He has shown to be capable of adaptation to his humans’ needs. He matches energy levels and vibes of the household, and gently tells the resident dog playtime is over by turning his head away and ignoring her.He has a huge head & tiny hips!In short, we love having Riven as a guest in our home! We look forward to him finding his humans and moving into his own forever home.

Story
At nearly 78 lbs, Orion is a big boy with an even bigger heart. He is dog social, well trained, and mature. Adopting a 6 year old pup like Orion comes with many benefits - his temperament is well developed, so you will get to skip the demanding puppy phase. Orion is already house trained and has shown staff & volunteers just how patient he is when getting in and out of the kennel.Orion is not just dog friendly but he actually has a doggy roommate at AAC. He thrives on interactions with people and dogs alike, so he is definitely compatible to live in a home with a resident dog already. To ensure compatibility, we will host a doggy meet up with your pup and our staff.Long walks, new places and adventures are calling Orion. Can you provide this gorgeous Black Mouth Cur a stable and loving home?
