Story
Effortless Good Looks, Laid-Back Leading Man Energy George Clooney turns heads without even trying. With his rich red and mahogany tones accented by white, this Black Mouth Cur–type stunner lives up to his famous name with classic good looks and an easygoing charm. At about 1.6 years old, George is a friendly, approachable young dog who enjoys getting out for walks and handles the leash well. Despite a past leg injury, he moves comfortably with hardly a limp and doesn’t let it slow him down. George is still new to us, so we’re continuing to learn all the details of his personality, but so far he’s proving to be a pleasant, social companion who takes things in stride. While he’s doing just fine here, he’d truly shine in a home environment where he can relax, settle in, and show off his full leading-man potential. If you’re looking for a handsome, gentle dog with natural charisma and a warm, friendly vibe, George Clooney is ready for his close-up—and maybe a spot on your couch.

Meet Fanboy – Your New Adventure Buddy! Looking for a playful, loving, and oh-so-cute companion to join you on life’s adventures? Fanboy might just be your perfect match! This curious and affectionate boy is full of personality and charm – just one look into his soulful puppy dog eyes and you’ll be smitten. Fanboy is always up for a good time, whether it’s hiking through the woods, cruising in the car, going on long walks, or just chilling on the couch for some quality cuddle time. He thrives on attention, loves being close to his humans, and is happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s doing great learning new skills, and with his “wants-to-please” attitude, he’s a smart cookie ready to soak up more training. Fanboy does well in his crate when alone and could live happily with a well-matched dog friend. He also has the potential to live with older kids or teens who can match his energy and help him feel safe and loved. Fanboy would do best in an active home where he can keep exploring, learning, and loving to his heart’s content. If you’re ready for a loyal adventure buddy who’s equal parts cuddly and fun-loving, Fanboy is ready to steal your heart (and maybe your spot on the couch).

Story
Like the famed 18th century pirate queen, our Anne Bonny has faced undue hardship in her quest to find that which is most treasured: A loving home. Cast adrift by a heartless crew, sweet Anne Bonny was swept up and struck in an endless sea of traffic. As doctors worked to save our heroine’s life, it was discovered that underweight Anne Bonny was carrying additional cargo in the form of four stowaway puppies. Our peg-legged, eye-patched pirate would become a mama two days later. Just Captain-kidding ya: Anne is recovering nicely from her hip injury and happily makes herself at home on comfy couches. She is also adjusting well from the loss of one eye…keeping a watchful look toward the horizon and at those swabs mopping the poop deck. Obviously, Anne’s inevitable adoption had to be postponed until she’d physically healed and weaned her brood. But now it is time for sweet Anne Bonny to begin her own adventure of emotional healing with a family who values love and loyalty rather than casting a devoted crew member overboard. Anne is a medium-sized dog with a matching energy level. She’s pretty relaxed throughout the day but shows great enthusiasm upon a friend’s arrival home. She is understandably a bit reserved initially but, yo-ho-ho…what a reward when that rear sail starts to dancin’! Anne Bonny adapted easily to a full crew of canines and humans. She is also a skilled sailor who can easily man her own helm. Unlike her band of unruly seafaring scallywags, Anne Bonny is polite about her personal business and is house-trained. You can leave the mop and bucket below deck when she’s part of your crew. So…whatta ya say, matey? Are you ready to round out your band of renegades with a retired pirate queen? Just make your mark next to the X on the adoption application and, soon, you will understand the true meaning of the word “treasure”.

Story
Isabella, or Izzy, is about 4-5 years old. My daughter found her on the streets of San Antonio as a 9 or 10 month old puppy. Izzy is normally calm and sweet, but she does not get along with our daughter’s other dog. The two have gotten into several fights and my daughter can no longer keep her. There have been no incidences of aggression at the dog park, just at home. Izzy is also nervous around children and once bit a little boy who startled her. The injury was slight. The best home for Izzy is one with no small children or other pets. She has been evaluated by a veterinarian who found her to be well behaved. He agreed that in an stress-free home, Izzy would make a wonderful pet. Izzy also does not lick and seldom barks! She is good on a leash and in the car. She’s also a big cuddler. You’re going to love her!

Available in TX, NE and the PNW! Meet Rover – Your Next Adventure Buddy! Rover is a handsome 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur with a heart as big as his love for adventure. Picked up as a stray at just 6 months old, Rover has come a long way and is ready for a forever home that understands him and lets him shine. He has a natural affinity toward women and can be cautious with men at first; it took his foster dad a couple of weeks to earn his trust. Because of this, Rover needs a patient, understanding adopter who will allow him the time and space to feel secure and build confidence. Once comfortable, Rover’s personality truly blossoms. He absolutely loves other dogs and thrives when he has canine friends to play with. A good game of fetch is one of his favorite pastimes, and his athletic build makes him a natural runner and explorer. Rover is also a huge fan of water—lakes, pools, or splash time on a hot day—and would make an excellent hiking or outdoor companion. Rover has lived peacefully with cats and chickens and did very well. He loves going places, loads into the car with ease, rides like a pro, and behaves calmly in public. He is leash trained, well-mannered, and fully potty trained. While he’s not a big fan of the crate, he settles nicely at night. Because Rover can scale a 6-foot wooden fence, a tall, secure fence or supervised outdoor time is required. An active home or one with another playful dog would be ideal. If you’re looking for a loyal, athletic, water-loving companion to share life’s adventures, Rover may be the perfect match for you. He is being fostered in a home in Seguin, Texas. In state adoptions are $250. He can be transported out of state for an additional $300. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Meet Ranger Howie, a 8-month old Black Mouth Cur mix with the brains and heart of a future top recruit. This brave little soldier had a rough start, but he’s making huge strides in his training. Howie has already mastered “sit,” loves to play fetch, and after his puppy zoomies fade, he’s a surprisingly chill and easygoing boy. He’s fearless around horses, unfazed by loud noises, and enjoys weekly “training missions” at doggy daycare where he learns from the best and plays with his fellow recruits. Howie is non-aggressive and even respectful toward cats, though he’s still learning they don’t always want to play. He’s working on potty training, crate training, and basic manners — all part of his journey to becoming a well-trained gentleman. Smart, eager to please, and quick to learn, Howie just needs a patient, loving family to guide him to his full potential. He loves car rides and sits calmly in the back seat like a true professional on patrol. With plenty of toys, playtime, and affection, Ranger Howie will grow into the loyal, dependable companion every family dreams of. Could your home be his next command post? Story
Hanker Chief is a handsome guy with mostly tan fur and just a hint of white, and a presence that’s hard to miss. He looks like a mix of Coonhound, Redbone, and Labrador, though that’s just our best guess. He came to us when a small community shelter didn’t have the space or resources to give him the care he deserved. The change has been a lot for him, and he can feel a bit overwhelmed in the shelter environment, so a little patience will go a long way as he settles in and shows his true personality. The previous shelter shared that Hanker Chief is the sweetest boy. He loves attention, is very friendly, and enjoys being close to people. They also noted that he’s a jumper, which fits his enthusiastic and affectionate nature. At about 2 years old, Hanker Chief is ready for a fresh start with someone who can offer consistency, kindness, and a calm place to land. With time and understanding, he has all the makings of a wonderful companion.
