Story
We rescued Xena when she was being sold on the side of the road. She seemed to have a distended belly and needed care, so we took her in to nurse her back to health. Unfortunately, we are unable to keep her long-term, but we want her to find a loving home. Xena was born around late December, near Christmas, and is almost a year old. We’re looking for a loving, patient home that can give Xena the attention, care, and exercise she deserves. She thrives with people who understand her affectionate nature and will continue her training and provide plenty of interaction. What adjectives would you use to describe your pet? Loving, loyal, obedient, playful, affectionate, and a true “velcro dog.” She loves treats, is a good indoor dog, is house- and crate-trained, and gets along well with other dogs but doesn't like other dogs going near her food. She does have a funny habit of stealing rags or paper towels from the laundry basket!

Story
Found dog at a gas station about 3 months ago (presumably dumped) because he had no microchip and every attempt to find the owners have failed. Have been looking for a place to take him in but everywhere in San Antonio seems to be full. Didn't want to go the shelter route. Thought we may be able to keep him but our older dog is not taking too kindly to the new addition. Small one does not have issues with other dogs, and I think with the right match they would get along very well together and play. Our older dog is the aggressor. Small one is very sweet and energetic. House trained for the most part, has only had 1 or 2 accidents inside over the past 3 months. He is currently microchipped with our info but that can be changed for the new owners. Got rabies vaccine and all other shots from VCA animal hospital. Doctor thinks he is roughly 9-10 months old. He would be a great addition for a family and I would love to keep him if it wasnt for our older dog.

Story
Handsome Major is ready to march his way into your heart. At just a year old, Major shows all the characteristics of a loving, loyal companion. The Black Mouth Cur is a medium- to large-sized working breed originally bred to assist farmers and hunters. This breed is active, intelligent, and bonds strongly to their owners; Major is no exception! He is potty trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands like “sit” and “no.” He can still learn so much more! Beneath Major’s confident exterior lies a sensitive, affectionate pup who responds best to gentle, positive reinforcement. Once he warms up, Major becomes a total cuddle bug. He enjoys his daily walks and will thrive in a home that can keep up with his playful energy and loving nature. Major is ready to be your loyal guardian, adventure partner, and snuggle buddy. Story
Hey there, I`m Apollo and I must say, I`m quite the sweet boy! Although, I have to admit, I can get a bit jumpy at times. It`s not because I`m scared, it`s just because my eyesight isn`t the greatest. So, when something pops up unexpectedly, I get startled and let out a little `whoa!` But don`t worry, all I need is some happy talk to get me back on track. And let me tell you, once I hear a familiar, upbeat voice, my wiggles can`t be contained!I`m a big fan of hugs and love to give them to my friends. And here`s a little secret, it doesn`t take much to become my friend. Just a little bit of happy talk and we`ll be best buds in no time! So get ready for some squishy Apollo hugs, because once you`re in my inner circle, there`s no turning back. When I`m not giving out hugs, I love to lay in the grass with a good chewy. There`s nothing better than feeling the soft blades of grass under my paws while I chomp away on a delicious treat. I also love to go for walks, especially when there are new smells to discover. You see, I have a great sniffer! I can pick up scents from miles away and it`s always exciting to follow my nose and see where it leads me. Maybe it will lead me to you and I being best friends forever!

Story
Rascal is by and large a very sweet dog. He’s been with us for four years, but has become territorial and aggressive with our other male dog. With a baby on the way, we’ve decided that it would be better for him to find a home where he’s the only dog. He’s very cuddly, eager to please, and learns easily. He has been a very good dog, and knows quite a few commands. I’m sure Rascal would be the perfect dog for a household with no other dogs.

Story
Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves?
