Rascal is a fun guy and all the other dogs love playing with him in play groups. He is a happy boy that is well socialized with everyone he meets. Coming from Texas, he is not sure what all this white stuff is about, but will play in the snow. His curious and attentive nature makes him a great buddy for dog friendly places. He is also a good car rider.  Rascal is fine tuning his leash manners and knows a few basic commands. He’s fantastic with kids, gentle with other animals, and completely house-broken. He loves to run and play outside, but he’s just as happy curling up for a nap or snuggling on the couch. He has the perfect mix of fun energy and calm affection, and he’s ready to bring so much love into his forever home.` Darrow was previously chained up before being rescued down south and may squeal from time to time when he gets nervous. He is especially afraid of baseball bats. Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Active in group play ·Kids: Good; Did great in foster with 8 and 10 year old boys; Darrow LOVED to run, chase them, and play with them in the backyard.#3

Lilah - medium, female, black mouth cur Momma Lilah is a 3 year old black mouth cur (45 pounds) that has worked hard to raise her babies and now it is time for her to finally relax and find her happily ever after! Lilah has had the opportunity to meet many new people and doggies at her foster home, and enjoys playing with everyone! This gal is a BIG TIME people pleaser, has a very sweet disposition, and incredibly smart! She is potty trained, knows a few basic commands, and her favorite thing is just being loved on! She does great with big kids, little kids, and loves to squirrel and people watch. This gal will not disappoint!! Lilah is located in Woodstock, IL and has an adoption fee of $500. Story
Scared to death….All I had was my sister and people were probably either non-existent in my life prior to Save-A-Pet or even possibly not very nice. Everything was new. What’s a leash? What about toys? Why do they make funny noises? Why do people talk to us in “puppy” talk? The Canine Care staff was persistent and every day they made sure to help me get adjusted and show me what fun could be. I discovered plush toys, I even started “booping” a squeaky toy and then getting a treat. They took me in a little play yard and I got to run around, discovering a new feeling: happiness. I am discovering the world, one puppy step at the time. I also enjoy romping around with other doggies. Who knew life could be so different. I still have a lot to learn and experience and while I’m still cautious with new people, I am excited for my next adventure with a kind, compassionate and loving family.

Story
Cautious doesn’t even begin to describe all the feelings I was experiencing when I first got to Save-A-Pet. After all, the only constant in my life was my sister and people most probably didn’t play much of a role or may even have not been too nice to us. Being here made me realize that there were so many things to discover and that was overwhelming and can still be scary at times. The first time I heard the sound of a squeaky toy, I jumped back, unsure of whether this thing was dangerous or what it was for. The Canine Care staff didn’t give up on me and every day they helped me discover what life was all about. I wasn’t even too sure about treats but they didn’t give up and found out that I really love sliced cheese. I get to play with other doggies and in special moments I feel carefree. Who knew life could be so much better, being loved at my own speed. . I still have a lot to learn and experience and while I’m still cautious with new people, I am excited for my next adventure with a kind, compassionate and loving family.
