Story
Tiffany the Sweet Cur Mix's Story Arriving in Wisconsin June 13th! Introducing Tiffany, a gorgeous 11 month old female mixed breed. She weighs about 30 pounds and we do not anticipate her to get much bigger. While we do not know her exact breed mix, we believe she is a cur mix. Tiffany is a sweet girl but shy girl who through no fault of her own ended up in the shelter in rural Texas. She is now in a foster home in Texas where she is learning how to play. She is enjoying being around people and dogs. She is doing well on crate and potty training. She can't wait to find her forever family in Wisconsin. Health & Vetting: Tiffany is up to date on vaccines for her age, is spayed, dewormed, and microchipped. She will come with medical records and an interstate health certificate from a licensed veterinarian confirming good health prior to transport. Adoption Details: Tiffany will arrive in Muskego, WI on June 13th. She will be available to meet (and go home if its a good fit) to the first family who has placed a deposit to hold her exclusively for them. Adoption Fee: $500. Deposit: $250 (applied toward adoption fee) The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption. If upon meeting, she is not a good fit for your family, the deposit is refundable. We kindly ask that you are serious about adopting before placing a deposit, as we only accept one per dog. Animals that do not receive a deposit prior to arrival will be available to meet at our upcoming adoption events or by appointment, no deposit required. About Our Rescue: Adoption fees help cover the cost of care for all of our dogs, including those with significant medical needs. Interested in Adopting? Story
Meet Honey — The Soul Dog Who’s Been Waiting for Her PersonHoney is a stunning Black Mouth Cur with a heart as big as her name. She’s intelligent, athletic, deeply intuitive, and in that in-between stage of life where she just needs someone willing to guide her into the incredible dog she’s meant to be.Her foster family spent about two months earning her trust — and once she realized she was safe, she blossomed. Honey became calm, affectionate, respectful, and eager to be part of everything they do. She bonds deeply, but she doesn’t give her heart away lightly. She’s smart enough to know when someone is truly committed.PersonalityHoney is:Loyal, sensitive, and highly attuned to peopleEnergetic and playful, but settles beautifully once fulfilledA thinker — she learns fast, but she’ll test boundaries if direction isn’t clearA total lovebug once she trusts youTrainingHoney is:Crate trainedHouse trainedLeash trainedWorking on polite greetings (she gets excited and jumps)She’s incredibly smart and responds best to consistency and confident leadership.Ideal HomeNo children under 15 (she matches energy and can be overwhelmed)No catsDog selective — she does best with dogs whose energy complements hersSomeone active who can give her daily exercise or mental enrichmentSomeone patient, steady, and willing to earn her trustWhat She Needs to ThriveHoney shines when she’s fulfilled. A 30-minute walk, a structured activity, or mental challenges keep her balanced and happy. When bored, she may make less-than-ideal choices (jumping, barking, chewing), but when her needs are met, she’s the best family dog you could ask for.Honey doesn’t need perfect — she needs someone willing. Someone who sees past this moment of teenager stage and into the incredible companion she’s becoming. If that’s you, she’s been waiting!!!! Adoption fee: Check back soon! All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days. Our adoption process requires the submission of an online application at JRsPupsNStuff.org. Story
Scared to death….All I had was my sister and people were probably either non-existent in my life prior to Save-A-Pet or even possibly not very nice. Everything was new. What’s a leash? What about toys? Why do they make funny noises? Why do people talk to us in “puppy” talk? The Canine Care staff was persistent and every day they made sure to help me get adjusted and show me what fun could be. I discovered plush toys, I even started “booping” a squeaky toy and then getting a treat. They took me in a little play yard and I got to run around, discovering a new feeling: happiness. I am discovering the world, one puppy step at the time. I also enjoy romping around with other doggies. Who knew life could be so different. I still have a lot to learn and experience and while I’m still cautious with new people, I am excited for my next adventure with a kind, compassionate and loving family.

Story
Blanca (white dog) is around 7 years old. Blanca was rescued by my family as a puppy. She has since been a beloved member of our family as well as an extremely loyal companion. She LOVES to snuggle and she’s extremely affectionate. She’s also very playful! She is used to having a FENCED IN backyard, so that is ideal. She is protective over her people, very motherly towards familiar dogs. Blanca does not do well with cats! We have had Kiwi since she was a puppy as well, she is estimated to be 5 years old. Kiwi is what we call a gentle giant…she seems to think she is a little dog the way that she will hop on your lap and snuggle for hours. She is just as snuggly and affectionate as Blanca. She’s also used to a backyard but she does very well on leash! She’s never shown any sort of aggression towards anything. They are a bonded pair, and ideally would be placed together. I would also like to mention that both dogs are most likely not purebred, we have never had DNA tests done.
