Story
Lola is a 9 month-old, 25 lb mixed breed social butterfly who packs big dog energy into a perfectly portable size. This girl is pure fun. She loves playing with other dogs and would thrive with a young playful canine sibling. She walks nicely on leash, lives with cats, and would shine in activities like agility or fetch. Lola is food motivated—making her a great candidate for continued training. She is also your classic “shadow dog,” happiest when she’s close to her people and taking part in whatever you’re doing. Lola is working on her house and crate training and does best with routine. Lola is best suited for a single family home and her ideal match is a family that works from home or is retired. She has some separation anxiety and would prefer to be with her people as much as possible. Lola does have a unique need. She experiences urinary issues and may have “oopsies” moments when she has strong emotions, like being anxious or excited to see you when you return home (which, to be fair, is because she just loves people that much!). With a consistent routine, management tools like washable pee pads in her crate and frequent potty breaks, along with a consistent routine, she does wonderfully. We are hopeful that she will grow out of this as she matures. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, goofy best friend, Lola is ready to meet you. Apply for an opportunity to speak with Lola’s foster family and learn more about this special girl! Story
Meet Honey — The Soul Dog Who’s Been Waiting for Her PersonHoney is a stunning Black Mouth Cur with a heart as big as her name. She’s intelligent, athletic, deeply intuitive, and in that in-between stage of life where she just needs someone willing to guide her into the incredible dog she’s meant to be.Her foster family spent about two months earning her trust — and once she realized she was safe, she blossomed. Honey became calm, affectionate, respectful, and eager to be part of everything they do. She bonds deeply, but she doesn’t give her heart away lightly. She’s smart enough to know when someone is truly committed.PersonalityHoney is:Loyal, sensitive, and highly attuned to peopleEnergetic and playful, but settles beautifully once fulfilledA thinker — she learns fast, but she’ll test boundaries if direction isn’t clearA total lovebug once she trusts youTrainingHoney is:Crate trainedHouse trainedLeash trainedWorking on polite greetings (she gets excited and jumps)She’s incredibly smart and responds best to consistency and confident leadership.Ideal HomeNo children under 15 (she matches energy and can be overwhelmed)No catsDog selective — she does best with dogs whose energy complements hersSomeone active who can give her daily exercise or mental enrichmentSomeone patient, steady, and willing to earn her trustWhat She Needs to ThriveHoney shines when she’s fulfilled. A 30-minute walk, a structured activity, or mental challenges keep her balanced and happy. When bored, she may make less-than-ideal choices (jumping, barking, chewing), but when her needs are met, she’s the best family dog you could ask for.Honey doesn’t need perfect — she needs someone willing. Someone who sees past this moment of teenager stage and into the incredible companion she’s becoming. If that’s you, she’s been waiting!!!! Story
🐾 Available for Adoption: Rae 🐾 Meet Rae, a 4-year-old mixed breed with a big heart in a petite 35 lb package. Rae is potty trained, crate trained, and a sweet, loving girl who absolutely adores her people. She loves being close to her humans and is always happy to curl up for cuddles. Rae enjoys playing with her ball, carrying around her favorite stuffies, and relaxing with a good chew toy. She’s also a smart pup who already knows several commands. Rae was sadly surrendered when her owner’s work schedule changed and frequent travel made it impossible to give her the time she deserved. Rae does have a couple challenges she’s been working on. She can be reactive to other dogs when she sees them while on leash, though she currently lives with other dogs and does well with them. She can also be cautious with strangers, especially when they enter her home. Rae and her foster family have been working with a professional trainer/behaviorist, and she has already made great progress. Her ideal home would be an adult-only home or one with older children, with an adopter who is willing to continue helping her build confidence and succeed. Rae is a wonderful, well-behaved dog who just needs the right person to give her the love, patience, and stability she deserves. ❤️ There is no adoption fee. All potential adopters will go through a vetting process, including: • Adoption application • Virtual home check • Vet reference check • Landlord approval (if applicable) If you’re interested in giving Rae the loving home she deserves, please reach out!

Story
Gracie is a 9 month old black mouth cur mix we got from a rescue and she’s a remarkable puppy. She’s crate trained (sleeps in her crate all night), potty trained (rings a bell to go out), only chews on toys/bones, rarely barks in the house. Unfortunately, due to having young children, as well as a busy schedule, we feel Gracie is not receiving the attention she deserves. Gracie likes walks and playing. She does enjoy toys, but she LOVES playing with other dogs. She would thrive in a home with another dog and a large yard, if possible, as she loves to run.Gracie comes with: food/water bowls, 2 harnesses, retractable leash, waist leash, yard stake/leash, 5 months of flea/tick/worm meds, food, food storage container, treats, toys, 3 beds, bully sticks/collagen chews, poop bags, pooper scooper, jacket, and doggy daycare if nearby.

Story
2 years old (estimated)  Spayed Female  52 lbs.  Has done well with other dogs and meeting kids at the shelter  No known experience with cats Meet Millie , a sweet and friendly girl with a gentle, calm demeanor that makes everyone around her feel at ease. She loves cuddles, enjoys going for relaxing walks, and is happiest when she’s outside sniffing around and taking in all the interesting smells and sights. Millie has a quiet, affectionate nature and would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving pup to share cozy moments and peaceful adventures with. The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.May 11, 2026, 3:51 pm

Story
Scared to death….All I had was my sister and people were probably either non-existent in my life prior to Save-A-Pet or even possibly not very nice. Everything was new. What’s a leash? What about toys? Why do they make funny noises? Why do people talk to us in “puppy” talk? The Canine Care staff was persistent and every day they made sure to help me get adjusted and show me what fun could be. I discovered plush toys, I even started “booping” a squeaky toy and then getting a treat. They took me in a little play yard and I got to run around, discovering a new feeling: happiness. I am discovering the world, one puppy step at the time. I also enjoy romping around with other doggies. Who knew life could be so different. I still have a lot to learn and experience and while I’m still cautious with new people, I am excited for my next adventure with a kind, compassionate and loving family.
