Story
Arie is a 4 year old black mouth cur with some Great Dane from what I’ve gathered. She’s a high energy but very sweet girl. Love to walk, play and also lounge around the house. Potty trained, not crate trained. Basic diet. She was rescued from the humane society 3/1/2 years ago. She would thrive in an environment that she has room to run and active lifestyle. Little kids have spooked her before, never bitten but she has made me concerns. Has been very sweet with middle aged kids and all adults! Grew up with a German shepherd.

Story
Scared to death….All I had was my sister and people were probably either non-existent in my life prior to Save-A-Pet or even possibly not very nice. Everything was new. What’s a leash? What about toys? Why do they make funny noises? Why do people talk to us in “puppy” talk? The Canine Care staff was persistent and every day they made sure to help me get adjusted and show me what fun could be. I discovered plush toys, I even started “booping” a squeaky toy and then getting a treat. They took me in a little play yard and I got to run around, discovering a new feeling: happiness. I am discovering the world, one puppy step at the time. I also enjoy romping around with other doggies. Who knew life could be so different. I still have a lot to learn and experience and while I’m still cautious with new people, I am excited for my next adventure with a kind, compassionate and loving family.

Story
Cautious doesn’t even begin to describe all the feelings I was experiencing when I first got to Save-A-Pet. After all, the only constant in my life was my sister and people most probably didn’t play much of a role or may even have not been too nice to us. Being here made me realize that there were so many things to discover and that was overwhelming and can still be scary at times. The first time I heard the sound of a squeaky toy, I jumped back, unsure of whether this thing was dangerous or what it was for. The Canine Care staff didn’t give up on me and every day they helped me discover what life was all about. I wasn’t even too sure about treats but they didn’t give up and found out that I really love sliced cheese. I get to play with other doggies and in special moments I feel carefree. Who knew life could be so much better, being loved at my own speed. . I still have a lot to learn and experience and while I’m still cautious with new people, I am excited for my next adventure with a kind, compassionate and loving family.
