She’s done her duty, raised her puppies (her last litter ever — mission accomplished), sent them off to their forever homes, and is now ready to enjoy the sweet freedom of the empty nest. Cue the road trips and couch snuggles. 🚗🛋️ Found as a stray (still a mystery because… how??), Millie somehow came equipped with excellent house manners. She’s fully potty trained, walks like a dream on leash, gets along great with other dogs, and she knows exactly when it’s time to go-go-go and when it’s time to curl up and relax. Millie has energy for adventures and enthusiasm for life — but she’s not chaotic. She’s the kind of dog who’s always up for hiking, exploring, errands, or just being your shadow, then happily settles in for snuggle duty after a full day. Balanced. Polished. My given name from my foster mom is exactly who I am. Asta... this name means "divine strength", "love", and "star-like". I was abandoned by my first family on the side of the highway for a few months with my sister Kinsley. She was my protector during that time. I was terribly traumatized by being abandoned. Today I'm a shining star with beautiful grey eyes that match my coat. I like to play and go on backyard adventures with my sister and dog foster family. I like everyone and get along with other dogs and I'm a bit submissive and respectful towards everyone. I have beautiful pleading grey eyes that draw attention and make most ppl say awwwww and have a low key nature about me. We love each other very much and want to stay together for life! Please find it in your heart to adopt us together! Animal Information: Alfalfa is a handsome 2-year-old, 50-pound, male Doberman Pinscher mix with the sweetest presence to match his good looks. He was at risk at the Stanislaus shelter, and after seeing his notes and videos we knew we had to save him. According to staff, this sweetheart absolutely loves attention and is always happy to soak up affection from his people. He's patient in his kennel, easy to leash, and walks nicely on leash with only minor pulling. Once he's in the yard, his playful side shines -- get ready for some serious zoomies! Alfalfa enjoy being pet all over and is especially a fan of booty scratches. While he can be a little jumpy when excited, he listens well to "no" and "down", already knows how to sit and is eager to please. As a bonus, he's incredibly photogenic and always camera-ready! Foster Profile:   Alfalfa is a sweet, soft boy with lots of love to give! He is energetic but not 'wild' and would make a great hiking or jogging buddy. He loves fetch in the yard, going on walks, and hanging out with his people getting pets and love. He is good in his crate and not vocal, potty trained, and rides well in the car. Alfalfa can be a bit mischievous and is learning the ropes of being in a house, but with proper guidance we believe he will thrive. He is very food motivated and wants to please, making training good stimulation for him.  Alfalfa is a really friendly dog and is doing well with the 11 and 13 year old kids in his foster home. He is great with other dogs and responds to their well to their corrections if they aren't up for his enthusiasm. Overall, Alfalfa is a good boy just looking for his forever home in the PNW! Animal Information: Winston and his siblings Waylon and Winnie were surrendered to Haven Humane Society at one week old and rescued by one of our California partners. They have grown up in a home with dogs, cats, kids, horses and other livestock. Mama was only 40lbs, but we don't know who dad was. These puppies are friendly, playful and so very sweet.  Foster Profile: Winston (who we call Kip)  is truly one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet—a total love bug who lives for cuddles and closeness. He has a calm, gentle nature and would thrive in a home with other dogs, animals, and kids. He’s not much of a barker and isn’t easily startled, making him an easy, steady presence in the home.  He is also incredibly smart and eager to please—he genuinely wants to be a “good boy.” In just one afternoon, he learned how to go into his crate on command, as well as sit and lie down. For a five-month-old puppy, he has a wonderful balance of calm and playful energy. He loves zooming around the yard, especially during a game of frisbee, complete with the cutest floppy, sideways run.  Like any growing puppy, he is currently teething, so hard chews and frozen treats are his best friends right now. With his sweet temperament, quick learning, and affectionate nature, he is going to make an incredible companion for a very lucky family. A home with a securely fence yard and a canine compaion would be ideal. We are not considering apartments for him at this time.
