Story
Animal Profile: Nelson is a 2-year-old 28 lb hunky little short stack with a big personality and an even bigger smile. Originally labeled as a “Shiba Inu” mix, Nelson has since been DNA tested and is a Pit Bull/Cattle Dog/Fox Terrier mix, which explains his charm and his smarts. Nelson is being returned to the rescue after a year and a half due to his incompatibility with one of the two children in the home. Nelson does not appreciate hugs and cuddles especially while he is sleeping and even with multiple warnings including snaps and tooth contact, has never offered an injury inflicting bite. With his winning grin, compact build, and engaging personality, Nelson is ready to be someone’s loyal companion. He just needs the right match to thrive. Foster Update: Nelson is an active, engaging, and intelligent dog who truly wants a job to do and a person to do it with. He thrives when his days include a healthy balance of mental stimulation, physical exercise, and clear, confident leadership. This handsome boy has already put in a lot of work to set himself up for success. He has completed a board-and-train program with Mayhem Dog Training and is fully e-collar trained, giving him a strong foundation in structure and communication. Nelson also did well in a daycare setting with Rocket Dogs, where he enjoyed appropriate social interaction and play. He is currently in foster care with On The Mark Balanced Training in Snohomish, WA, where he gets to enjoy an active, structured lifestyle that suits him well. His routine includes off-leash adventures, treadmill workouts, and time with a well-managed pack of dogs—activities that help him stay balanced, fulfilled, and engaged. Nelson would do best in an adult-only home, either as an only dog or with a calm, well-balanced canine companion. His ideal adopter is someone with e-collar experience or someone open to learning and continuing his training journey. He responds very well to structure and will thrive with consistency and clear expectations. Ongoing support is available after adoption: Joy from Mayhem Dog Training is happy to provide follow-up lessons to help ensure a smooth and successful transition into his new home. Nelson’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. He was originally found as a stray and taken to a shelter in early September 2024. When no one came forward to claim him, he captured the heart of a rescue partner who saw his potential and invested in his future. Now, after everything he’s learned and overcome, Nelson is ready for his fresh start with the right family. He’s looking for someone who will appreciate his drive, guide his energy, and give him the structure he needs to thrive. In return, Nelson will offer loyalty, enthusiasm, and a true partnership built on trust and teamwork.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  This dog was returned to the rescue after 18 months in a home, originally transported from Caddo Parish Animal Shelter in Shreveport Louisiana via Tail Lights Rescue Project in 2024. He will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care in the Seattle area.  June 26, 2026, 8:10 pm

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org ☕🐾 Meet Earl Gray — aka “Eggy,” the Tiny Cup of Puppy Energy 🐾☕ Male • ~3–4 Months Old • Heeler Mix • Professional Explorer in Training Introducing Earl Gray, affectionately known as Eggy — a brave little pup who almost ran out of time at a crowded shelter, but thankfully someone noticed that this sweet boy still had a whole lifetime of puppy shenanigans left to deliver. Thankfully, he is now safe — and ready to show the world just how much love can fit inside one small, wiggly puppy. And trust us… Eggy is delivering. This floppy, curious little guy is the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, and just a little bit goofy. The world is brand new to him, and he is determined to check out every single corner of it. Stick on the ground? Investigation required. Toy on the floor? Immediate wrestling match. Another dog nearby? Time for professional-level playtime. Eggy absolutely loves other dogs and has a very sweet, gentle personality around them. He’s more of the polite “hey, wanna play?” type than the bossy type, which makes him an awesome future buddy for another pup. If there’s a dog around willing to wrestle, chase, or participate in a backyard zoomie session, Eggy is happily clocking in for duty. And because he’s part Heeler, there’s a smart little brain working overtime in that adorable head of his. The good news? Eggy is very food motivated, which means training is basically a fun game to him. Bring snacks and he’s ready to learn the world. He’s already doing great with crate training and potty training, and his crate has become his cozy little “Eggy headquarters” where he can relax and recharge after a long day of puppy adventures. Now let’s talk about the most important part of puppy life: shenanigans. Life with Eggy will likely include: • Zoomies that appear out of nowhere • Dramatic toy battles • Random puppy flops when he’s suddenly tired • Curious investigations of absolutely everything • And a whole lot of happy tail wags Despite his rough start, Eggy has a brave and loving little heart that just needs a family to keep helping him grow and gain confidence. With patience, kindness, and a little guidance, he’s going to blossom into an incredibly loyal, fun-loving companion. If you’re looking for a pup who will bring laughter, energy, adventure, and a whole lot of love into your life, Eggy might just be your perfect match. Because every good day really does start with a cup of Earl Gray. ☕ 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Eggy bring the fun, the zoomies, and the puppy love home. 🐶💛

Animal Profile: Rusty is a 1.8 year Aussie/Cattle dog mix dogs who joined us  via our TX partner Saving Shelter Strays. She was found walking down the street in an area with no houses close by and no one came to the shelter to claim her.  Foster Update: Rusty is a bright, beautiful, and loving puppy. She is so smart and curious. The outdoors is her favorite place, even when she's tired, she just wants to take a nap out in the yard (unless it's raining, then she's perfectly happy to be indoors). She is pretty shy and is working on her confidence outside of her foster home/yard, but she's made great strides, especially when she realized there are stores specifically for dogs that will give her treats when she goes in! She also loves other dogs and playing with her foster brothers. She's very smart and can get bored easily, but she learns very quickly, and she takes cues from her foster brothers to figure out what she should be doing.  We are looking  for a home with a fenced yard that she can explore and relax in, a canine companion as well as a family with breed and shy dog experience to help continue her confidence building  We are not considering apartments for her at this time.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from our partner in Texas Saving Shelter Strays and arriving via K-9 transport on 02/23/2025 to the Seattle area. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌸🐾 Meet Shirley — A Soft Soul with a Big Heart (and a Little Extra Fluff) 🐾🌸 Shirley is a June 2023 baby, weighing in at about 60 pounds — though her ideal weight is closer to 50 (she’s currently rocking that “well-loved” look 😄). She’s spayed, fully vetted, and comes with what can only be described as an impressively solid resume for a family dog. Shirley checks all the important boxes: ✅ Good with other dogs ✅ Great with kids ✅ House trained ✅ Up to date on vaccines ✅ Loyal, loving, and well-mannered ✅ Professional belly-rub enthusiast At first, Shirley can be a teeny bit shy — the kind of girl who likes to observe before jumping in — but give her a moment and she’ll melt right into you. Once she trusts you, she’s all about the belly rubs, quiet companionship, and loyal sidekick energy. She’s sweet, gentle, and has a calm presence that makes her a joy to be around. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to be the center of attention — she just wants to be near her people, soaking up love and offering it right back. Whether it’s lounging at your feet, joining you for a walk, or quietly supervising household activities, Shirley is happy just being part of a family. And yes… she could stand to lose a few pounds — but honestly, that just means more motivation to strap on that fitbit and getting your steps in... together, right? 😉 Shirley is ready for a home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished — a place where she can finally settle in and be someone’s “good girl” for life. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give Shirley the forever home she so deeply deserves. 🐾💖

Story
Please note that we are a TX based rescue. We transport our dogs to new homes once adopted. All our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Our app can be found at haydudeequine.org Hi, I'm Bowie 💛 I'm about 3 years old, around 40 pounds, and I've been told I have the softest velvety coat (you'll have to confirm that yourself). I didn't always have it easy—I was found sitting scared on the side of the road outside a neighborhood—but I'm ready to leave that part behind and find my forever home. Let me tell you the most important thing about me: I LOVE BALLS. Kong, Chuckit, squeaky, bouncy—I'm not picky. If it bounces, I'm in. I'll watch it like a hawk, leap to catch it mid-air, and happily play fetch for as long as you'll throw it. I might even try to trick you into a little game of keep-away... but don't worry—if you pretend you're done, I'll bring it right back and nudge it into your hand. Deal? I'm playful, energetic, curious, and I like to keep an eye on my people (you'll feel very important, I promise). I'm also pretty smart—I've already learned to sit while I wait for my ball, and with a little patience (and maybe some snacks 👀), I know I can learn even more. My dream home? Probably a couple with no young kids, a yard to run around in, and humans who like being outside as much as I do. I'm still figuring out other dogs, and I haven't met any cats yet, so I may need a little guidance there. Kids make me a bit nervous, so a calmer home would help me feel safe. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving best friend who will keep you moving, make you laugh, and always be ready to play... I'm your girl. Now... you got a ball? 🎾

Story
LONG-TERM FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED ❤️ RJ is a 6½-year-old mixed breed with a heart as big as his paws. With a unique blend of American Pit Bull Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Boxer, and German Shepherd, RJ is a handsome, athletic, and intelligent companion who’s ready to find a home that truly understands him. Originally rescued from a Texas shelter at around 1½ years old, RJ made his way to Washington and spent six months with Forever Home Dog Rescue before being adopted in October 2021. His early life is a mystery, but it’s likely he spent time on the streets as a puppy. Despite his rough start, RJ has grown into a sweet, fiercely loyal dog who bonds deeply with his people. What RJ Loves: Exercise & Adventure: RJ thrives with daily activity—he’s a fantastic running and hiking partner and enjoys fetch and chase (though he might not always bring the ball back!). He has been on many backpacking trips and loves being outside. He does well on long walks with familiar people and dogs. Toys & Playtime: Balls, chew toys, and stuffed animals are his favorites, but he’s a toy destroyer if left unsupervised. Training & Mental Stimulation: Smart and eager to please, RJ enjoys learning commands and being rewarded for good behavior. Lounging & Comfort: After a good play session, RJ loves curling up on a cozy dog bed or couch and catching some serious Zzz’s. Affection: He’ll greet you with tail wags and kisses (he’s a big licker!) before settling down with a toy nearby. What RJ Needs: RJ is a special dog who needs a home that can meet his unique needs and provide structure, patience, and love. Home Environment: While he’s lived in an apartment, RJ does best in a house with space to roam and a fenced yard. No Dog Parks: RJ is not a dog park dog and has shown aggression toward male dogs, sometimes unpredictably. He prefers being the alpha and does best with female dogs his size or larger. No Cats or Small Animals: He has a strong prey drive and should not be placed in a home with cats or other small pets. No Young Children: RJ has growled at children who tried to pet him on walks and hasn’t lived with kids, so a child-free home is best. Supervised Toy Time with Other Dogs: Due to resource guarding (mostly over toys and chews), RJ should be in a home where toys aren’t left out and where there are no other resource guarders. Secure Fencing & Leash Use: RJ doesn’t have reliable recall and should never be off-leash unless in a secure area. He’s athletic and could potentially scale a low fence if tempted by a squirrel. Companionship: RJ has strong separation anxiety and does best with another dog in the home—ideally a calm, confident female- and/or a home with owners who work from home and are present regularly. He loves to be a member of the "pack". Car Rides & Crating: RJ is a great passenger and enjoys car rides! He is crate trained and is used to being put in his crate at night. The Ideal Home for RJ: RJ is looking for a committed, experienced dog owner who understands behavioral needs and is ready to give him the structure and love he deserves. He’s not a beginner dog, but for the right person or family, he’ll be an incredibly loyal and rewarding companion. If you’re active, patient, and ready to welcome a dog who will love you fiercely and keep you on your toes, RJ might just be your perfect match.

Our app can be found at haydudeequine.org Meet Charming! Charming is a 3-month-old Mini Australian Shepherd puppy with a big personality packed into a little body. True to his name, this sweet boy has a way of winning over everyone he meets with his playful spirit, friendly nature, and irresistible puppy charm. Charming is social, smart, and loves spending time with other dogs. Whether he's chasing toys, wrestling with his canine friends, or exploring the world around him, he's always ready for fun and adventure. When playtime is over, he's happy to soak up affection and cuddle with his people. Charming's story began when his mom, an 18-pound purebred Miniature Australian Shepherd, was rescued from a backyard breeding situation. Thanks to her rescue, Charming now has the chance to find the loving forever home he deserves and start life on the right paw. Like many Mini Aussies, Charming is intelligent and eager to learn. He'll thrive with a family that can provide training, socialization, exercise, and plenty of love as he grows into a loyal lifelong companion. If you're looking for a bright, affectionate puppy who will bring joy, laughter, and endless love into your life, Charming may be the perfect match. Adopt this special little boy and let him charm his way into your heart!

Story
Animal Information: Max is an almost 7 month old Australian Shepherd mix puppy currently. Max was confiscated after being found with multiple broken ribs from a suspected animal abuse case. Even with this rough start, Max appears to be a pretty normal puppy. He is a bit scared of loud noises. We are so happy to be bringing Max to the Seattle area in search of his forever family. Foster Profile:  Our family has fostered Max since he was 12 weeks old. He quickly adapted to his environment. We have two other male dogs. Max has a great disposition and gets along well with both my adult dog and my teenage dog. Max has been around kids ranging from 6 to 17. We have a fairly busy household, and he doesn’t seem to mind. He is a joy to have around. Max is highly food-motivated, slightly alpha and can hold his own with bigger dogs with whom he plays all the time. He is a super fluffy, white and tan coat. He doesn’t show any signs of shedding yet he smells good and is fully potty trained. He hasn’t had an accident in our house in over a month. Max loves to play outside and explore like every puppy. He has great recall and will come to the word “treat” when he gets distracted. He can be crated, but prefers to sleep with the pack. In the mornings, he is super snuggly and nibbles your ears. He is such an amazing dog and will make a great companion for somebody special. I think he would do well in an active family home or a home that has other dogs. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter (on contract, if applicable), core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from San Bernadino Animal Control, in partnership with ARF our rescue partner in San Bernadino, CA. He was transferred via START, arriving to foster care on 2/5/2026 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.June 26, 2026, 8:10 pm
