Story
Animal Profile: Luna is a now 3-year-old, 40 lb Cattle Dog mix who originally joined our rescue from Texas as a 9-week-old puppy (fka Dory) and was adopted by her foster family. Over three years later, she is coming back to rescue as her family is moving to Germany and cannot take her with them. Luna is super social and friendly with dogs of all sizes and is currently housed with cats (they're fun!) without any aggression. Luna has some noise phobias and will need some confidence building and exposure training, but is otherwise well behaved -- house and crate trained, knows basic obedience, and loves to run and play chase with other dogs. She plays very nicely.   Foster Update: 9-30-25  Luna is doing better and better! She can relax and enjoy quiet neighborhood walks and trail and park walks. She did great on our hikes! On busy city streets, she's still anxious (she pants) but will cooperate with the leash. She's good with dogs as long as we're all walking, but she may bark when we're staying still and other objects (dog, toddlers) approach us. She has minor resource guarding when she’s eating and another dog come close, but humans are no threat.  Luna loves me and my husband equally and knows sit, down, and not rushing through doors. She has 3-year-old dog playful energy but settles herself on her bed or in her crate without seeking attention all the time. On the other hand, she loves cuddling when invited to do so. She's done great on the many car rides we've take her on too. We've left her in her car crate while we've done errands and she just naps and wait. I think Luna could use a family who lives in a quieter area and has an outdoor lifestyle. Exercise in nature really helps her lower her stress level and do better at handling challenging, noisy environments when needed. She could be the solo dog or with another confident dog.  Earlier updates: Luna has truly transformed in foster care. While she can be a little nervous around loud noises, she looks to her person for guidance and is able to recover quickly from any startling sounds. Luna has learned to walk politely in a heel on leash, and with her excellent crate and car manners, she has been able to join her foster family on adventures including hiking, camping, and beach outings. She will be happiest in a home with another dog who can help show her the way, but she could also thrive as an only dog with an owner committed to continuing her current training. Luna knows several commands including crate, sit, stay, down, place, and heel. She is friendly when meeting new people and loves to play with other dogs. We have loved watching her blossom and open up since returning to rescue. Now she is ready for a family of her own! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: She was found with her sibling as a young puppy wandering as a stray in rural Texas, picked up by Animal Control and transferred to our rescue partner AARC Del Rio. They were transferred to DGS arriving to foster care on 07/13/22. She was adopted by her foster, who reached out to surrender in August 2025 as the family was moving to Germany and could not bring her along. She will be available for adoption in the Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. October 8, 2025, 10:57 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Beethoven (hearing impaired like his namesake), or Thoven for short, is an estimated 3.5-year-old, 40 lb neutered male mixed breed -- possibly terrier aussie mix -- who was a stray intake to the Caddo Parish Shelter in Louisiana and was assessed to be friendly, social and outgoing with everyone. He has a coat made for the PNW! This boy was used for dog testing because he is neutral or friendly with everyone. We will share more info once we get to know him in foster care.   Foster Update: Beethoven can't hear but he is a top-level snuggle buddy and goofy boy who is house trained, crate trained, and friendly with other dogs. He's also done okay with cats. He'll do best with a dog buddy in his home. He is prone to anxiety without proper leadership, so an experienced dog owner who can provide training and help him be his best self is needed. Thoven has nice leash manners and is non-destructive in the house.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Caddo Parish animal shelter in Louisiana and arrived to Seattle area via Tail Lights Rescue Project on 08/08//2023. He was adopted and then returned about a year later due to not being a good fit in his home (single man no other dogs in an apartment). He is currently in foster care in North Bend and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. September 19, 2025, 2:47 pm

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💙🌊 Meet Glacier — Your Loyal Adventure Buddy with a Heart of Gold 🌊💙 (11 Months • 50 lbs • Male • Professional Best Friend) Some dogs are fun. Some dogs are sweet. And then there’s Glacier — the kind of dog who makes you stop and think, “How has he been waiting this long?” At just 11 months old and 50 pounds, Glacier is that magical in-between size: big enough for real adventures, small enough to fit perfectly into your life (and your lap… he tries). He’s playful without being wild, affectionate without being clingy, and calm enough to settle in for end-of-day snuggles like a total pro. 🐾 Glacier’s Greatest Hits: • Fantastic with other dogs — friendly, respectful, and social • Walks beautifully on or off leash, always checking in and staying close to his person • Loves the water — rivers, splashes, wading like a happy little otter • Playful during the day, snuggly and chill at night (the best combo) • Deeply affectionate — the kind that leans into you like you’re his safe place His favorite walks at the ranch? Heading down to the river, where he can explore, splash, and soak up life at his own peaceful pace. Glacier doesn’t need chaos to be happy — he just wants his person, a little adventure, and a lot of love. What really tugs at the heartstrings is that Glacier has spent far too much of his puppyhood in rescue. While he’s stayed gentle, trusting, and joyful, it’s time he finally gets to know what it means to belong — a couch that’s his, people who are his, and a life that’s more than just waiting. He would be an absolute dream for an outdoorsy person or family — someone who loves walks, nature, water, and coming home to a dog who’s equally excited to cuddle up and call it a day. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who will walk beside you, splash beside you, and snuggle beside you — always staying close… 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — Glacier is more than ready to be someone’s forever. 🐾💙

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🤍❄️ Meet Artic — A Gentle Soul with Adventure in His Heart ❄️🤍 (11 Months • ~50 lbs • Male • Full-Time Best Boy) If loyalty had a face (and four paws), it would look a lot like Artic. This handsome 11-month-old, 50-pound sweetheart is the kind of dog who doesn’t just walk with you — he walks for you, always checking in, always nearby, always quietly making sure his person is okay. Artic is wonderfully balanced: playful when it’s time to have fun, calm and affectionate when the day winds down. He’s the dog who will happily explore the outdoors with you and then curl up close afterward like, “We did good today.” 🐾 Why Everyone Falls for Artic: • Excellent with other dogs — friendly, easygoing, and social • Walks beautifully on or off leash, naturally staying close (no wandering, no drama) • Loves the water — splashing, wading, and cooling off like a true nature pup • Affectionate and gentle, with a calm presence that just feels good to be around • Playful without being overwhelming, snuggly without being needy At the ranch, Artic’s favorite walks are the ones that head toward the river — where the pace slows, the water sparkles, and he gets to just be a happy dog. He’s not loud about his love, but it runs deep, and once you’re his person, you’re his whole world. Like his brother, Artic has spent far too much of his puppyhood in rescue, waiting patiently while life passed by. Despite that, he’s remained trusting, sweet, and hopeful — and now it’s time for him to finally experience the joy of a family, a home, and a forever spot on the couch. Artic would thrive with an outdoorsy person or family who values companionship, quiet loyalty, and shared adventures followed by cozy evenings in. Story
Animal Profile: Evie is an estimated 7-month-old female Cattle Dog mix (best guess) who we believe will be medium/large size when full grown. She was picked up as a stray and brought to the Caddo Parish shelter. She was in a temporary foster home in LA where she got some TLC while waiting for transport via Tail Lights Rescue Project to the PNW. We will share more about her as we get to know her a bit better in the Seattle area. Foster Update: Herding dog lovers or hiking enthusiasts, this is the dog for you. This girl is a darling and she would love a confident, balanced fur sibling to help her build her confidence and show her the ropes! She is looking for a home with a yard, outside of the city is preferred.  Evie is a sweet and playful cattle dog mix. She is friendly and loves people and other dogs. She holds her own playing with my 60-pound pitbull who is also a big softie. She was sweet and gentle when being introduced to the cat and even tried to play with him, but also listened to the cat when he wanted her to back off. Evie is  potty trained and is getting lots of training. She's  doing great on walks! She is full of love and affection and will definitely bond with any human who is lucky enough to adopt her! If you are looking for your next adventure buddy, this is your girl. Breed experience preferred, kids 12+ considered. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  This dog is being transferred from Caddo Parish animal shelter in Shreveport Louisiana and arriving to Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on September 15th, 2025. Story
I got Finn as a puppy and I do not know what exact breed he is. He is a sweet, gentle, even tempered dog. He loves going to the beach, hiking, and playing at the dog park. Finn loves children and even plays with toys more gentle with them. He never barks at other dogs and the only time he does bark is to alert me someone is coming to the door. But it never goes on more than a few warning barks and he will stop barking when I ask him to. He knows sit, lay down, roll over, play dead, high five, and shake. He is a very smart and intuitive dog. He likes treat puzzles. Finn does have separation anxiety. I am looking to rehome Finn as I no longer have the capability to give him what he needs and that is regular exercise, and not being left alone for long periods of time. Someone who works from home, or can bring Finn to work is the best candidate for adoption. Someone who has a yard or access to a dog park/field to play is a must.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾🔥 Meet Dante — The Dashing Adventurer With a Heart of Gold 🔥🐾 (Australian Shepherd • 2 Years • ~45 lbs • Professional Good Boy) If you’ve been wishing for a four-legged best friend who can keep up with all your adventures — from weekday daily to weekend chaos — allow us to introduce Dante, the Australian Shepherd whose life goal is to be included in absolutely everything you do. Yes, everything. If you’re going, he’s going. If you’re sitting, he’s sitting. If you’re eating… well, he’s respectfully observing with hopeful eyes. At 2 years old and around 45 pounds, Dante is the perfect-sized partner in crime. He’s sweet-natured, active, playful, and handsome enough to make your neighbors ask, “Wow, where’d you get that dog?” (We approve of you bragging about him.) He’s good with dogs, great with kids, and even gets along with cats — which is impressive given that many Aussies consider cats to be mysterious, poorly timed flock members. Dante says, “No worries, mate. We’re cool.” Dante is UTD on vaccines and rabies, neutered, and house trained — this boy is as turn-key as they come. A couple things you should know: • Dante is barky. Not “I’m yelling at every leaf,” but definitely “I have opinions and I would like to share them.” • Because of that, apartment life = big nope. • Outdoorsy, active families = HUGE YES. He wants adventures! Hikes! Road trips! Splash zones! Life! Dante would thrive with a family who will include him in the everyday moments and the big fun ones — from coffee runs and yard projects to camping trips and long scenic walks. He’s happiest when he’s part of the action, right by your side. If you're looking for a best friend who brings joy, energy, loyalty, and a sprinkle of Aussie spice, Dante is your guy. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — Dante’s next adventure starts with YOU! 🐶✨

Story
Animal Profile: Maui is a young male Aussie mix who needs good strong leadership and someone with the patience to help him become his best self. He is working on his confidence and leash manners and will need continued training and support. Maui is crate and house trained and currently lives with another dog in his foster home. He is smart and treat motivated, but is just a bit nervous about the world, but we are working on that! Children will be a bit much for this guy and we are looking for an adult only home, preferably outside of the city. He's a beautiful boy with lots of potential! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: November 18, 2025, 1:39 pm

Story
Meet Boots! This sweet 5-year-old, 35-pound Aussie/Beagle mix is pure happiness wrapped in fur. Boots adores people, loves being around other dogs, and can’t get enough attention. She’s friendly, affectionate, and full of that joyful energy that makes you smile the moment you meet her. Boots originally came from our rescue, but was sadly given away when her family moved. She was later found stray and made her way back to us—still as loving and gentle as ever. You’d never know she’s been through so much; she greets everyone with an open heart and a happy tail. With her soft spirit, loyalty, and big, loving personality, Boots will make a wonderful companion for just about any family. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who brings joy wherever she goes, Boots is ready to come home. 🐾 💛
