Story
Animal Profile: Ames is an approximately 1-year-old, 40 lb neutered cattle dog mix that joined us from New Mexico on 12/4.  The shelter there says he is good with dogs and kids. Foster Update: Ames is a shy at first but incredibly loyal pup who loves to play tug and fetch when he’s not snoozing the day away. This handsome boy has a playful yet gentle demeanor and is good with other dogs – Ames must have a home with a balanced confident dog sibling to help show him that the world isn’t scary. Ames would benefit from a confident adopter who knows how to help him build his confidence -- coddling his insecurities will only amplify them, so he needs firm upbeat leadership. As soon as he gets comfortable, his friendliness and curiosity know no bounds. Ames is food motivated and a fast learner, picking up on commands like sit, lie down, touch, spin, and shake. He’s a Velcro dog filled with endless love for his chosen humans and is ready to share that love with his new family. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Roswell, New Mexico.  They arrive on 12/4 and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.May 10, 2024, 2:28 am

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Frannie - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Frannie is short for Francis or Francine meaning 'free woman'. And that's just what I am. BUT I'm now more then ready for the family life! And I've got a new lease on my life and plan on filling it with fun, living life to the fullest qualities that come with being a family pup! I came from a local shelter where I was on 'the list' just for being short of space. I'm learning for the first time what's it like being in a loving place where as I am pretty mellow for a youngster, I can now not have a care in the world to also be active and playful. I'm doing well on learning the ropes of family life and being all I can be!! I come in at about 29lbs where I should be as my adult weight. A pawsome size for well...everything. I'm big enough to enjoy all those action packed adventures but small enough to also enjoy those cuddle times with you. As a youngster at only 11months, I will need that daily exercise and playtime but with that in I should do just fine in town with a yard, out in the country or anywhere in between. I love people and do great with other pups making me a fabulous candidate to be a 'silbling' to another playful pup or I'm good with getting all the attention as your one and only! My beautifully colored short coat makes for me being easy peasy in the grooming department. An occasional bath, brush and nail trim makes me ready at the drop of a hat for all our adventures!! Whoa, pretty pawsome, huh! Being that youngster I'm always ready to be anything from being your sidekick to your cohort in crime! Your sidekick to be by your side but your cohort that won't tell a soul if you want to sneak out for a little one on one adventure!! I can be all that and a snuggler to boot! Can I be YOURS?!!!

Story
Lemon is a sweet, energetic, and loving cuddle bug. She's very affectionate and will drown you in kisses if you let her. Despite her size, she thinks she's a lap dog, and you can find her there most times if you're hanging out on the couch or in bed reading. She needs a family with an active lifestyle and a large yard to run around in, preferably with another dog to play with as she's grown up with one since she was a young pup. We are rehoming her because she has developed some destructive tendencies due to lack of exercise and we have come to the heart-breaking conclusion that our family is just not the right fit for her. She needs more open space and long walks to get her energy out, but she will play with you forever if you let her. Lemon will become the bright sunshine in your life that you never realized you were missing, the little sparkle of joy, and a source of endless love and affection.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Sundae! She is loyal, happy, has boundless energy, is incredibly smart and is alert and wary of strangers. This girl is a herding breed dog who would love a home outside of the city on acreage where she can have a job to do. She is not for the sedentary dog owner. She loves to walk the perimeter of her property and in typical herding dog fashion will redirect people and alert them once she's familiar with her boundaries. Due to her herding breed, she has an irresistible impulse to herd, anything: cars, dogs, kids, etc. so an adult only home would be best for her. Sundae bonds deeply with her person and can be protective of them. She will need to be in a home where there is strong leadership. She can be reactive or show guarding behavior in stressful situations that she feels are 'threatening' to her person. She can also redirect in these situations or when displaying her herding instincts. She will need a firm hand and strong supervision when there is a lot of stimulation. She has her challenges, but she is incredibly loving and loyal to her people. She is spayed, current on her shots and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $150.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Bandit! He is a 3-year-old, 55 lb Australian Cattle Dog mix who is looking for his forever home. He is a very happy, friendly, intelligent boy. He is playful and has lots of energy and LOVES to play with balls. He knows basic commands and he would make a wonderful running partner and loyal companion. Bandit would love a home outside of the city with a fenced yard to run around in. He will need to be an only dog where he can get all of the love and attention. He can be jumpy, so we don't recommend a home with small children. Bandit is neutered, microchipped and UTD on vaccines. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER/FOSTER-TO-ADOPT: Meet Bowie! Bowie is a 4-year-old, 60 lb Cattle Dog mix who has not had the easiest life and came to us as a confiscation/cruelty case from CA. Despite his rough start in life, he is a great example of how dogs live in the moment, and he is a sweet boy with a good disposition. He would love an active family who will take him for walks and on adventures. He can be a strong puller but walks pretty well on a leash with an easy walk harness. He is a sweet boy who knows basic obedience and takes treats gently. Bowie has done well with other dogs in our care but can be excitable when meeting other dogs so a neutral dog in the home would be best or he would be fine as an only dog as well. He would love a home with a securely fenced yard for him to run, play and lounge around. Bowie is up-to-date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $450.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Zorro! He is a 2-year-old 48lb Queensland healer, who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in California. Zorro is an awesome dog! He is very sweet, friendly, and trusting. He listens well, is very smart, and embodies your typical healer traits of bonding deeply and quickly with his person. He will need an active adopter who is familiar with herding breeds. He gets along well with other dogs but can be intense which might be off putting to some dogs. He would love to have another active dog in the home that he can run and play with. He will make a loyal companion for any lucky adopter. Zorro is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
Animal Profile: Carrot is a now 1-year-old 40 lb spayed female that we think is predominantly Kelpie. She was acquired by a family for their autistic child as a service dog. They soon realized they didn't have the financial or other capability for necessary training and surrendered her to the rural Los Banos shelter, where she was euthanasia listed for space. She was assessed to be friendly and social with people and dogs. Foster Update: Carrot is a sweet girl with typical puppy energy. She's very friendly when meeting new people and other dogs. She has high energy and loves to zoom around the yard with her bigger dog friend. This girl also loves to hike and explore! She recently did an over 10-mile hike and loves long walks, 5-7 miles, in the city and in parks or on trails. She likes her toys - especially her namesake carrot stuffy - and takes care not to destroy them; when excited, she is learning to redirect by placing a ball or a “chew” toy in her mouth. She is improving with walking on a leash, but remains very interested in the world around her so needs encouragement to focus on the task at hand. She is potty trained, her recall is coming along, and her crate training is much improved, though she still prefers to have her people in the room with her while in her crate. When she's out of the crate she likes to be near her humans and will lie down or play with one of her toys; she's surprisingly calm inside. She has not been evaluated with cats or kids. Carrot will do best in a family that is home most of the day or can bring her along with them, has a dog playmate that can match her energy, and is able to continue to provide stability, love, and training to help her be her best self. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Los Banos shelter where she was euth listed for space. She arrived to foster care in Seattle on 5/21. May 10, 2024, 2:28 am
