Story
Animal Profile: Remi is an estimated 15-month-old gentle giant mixed breed neutered male who will be your very best friend and adventure buddy. A DNA test reveals he is 50% Doberman, 25% Malinois, 25% Pyrenees and 100% good boy! This very leggy dog has a super solid temperament and in the right hands has all the secret sauce to be a mobility support dog. He is social and friendly with strangers and dogs of all sizes, and loves to run and play with other dogs; he has not been evaluated with cats. Remi is not fazed by children or loud noises and has a stable temperament. He absolutely could launch a small child with his body and would be best suited in a home with older children. He has a gentle mouth and shows no inappropriate behaviors such as resource guarding or nuisance barking. He is house-trained and crate-trained, and currently being fostered with an apprentice trainer who is working with him on all his basic obedience (sit, down, place, recall, loose leash walking) so he can be a polite XL canine citizen.  Foster Updates: Stay tuned for details. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Adoption Info: Remi's adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, recent vet visit and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Animal History: Remi was rescued as a puppy by an unhoused individual who cared for him with kindness for seven months. He received regular vet care and socialization. She was no longer able to keep him when she got housing and so she reached out to rescue for help with placement. Remi is currently being fostered with an apprentice trainer and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. May 15, 2025, 6:17 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Peach is an estimated 4.5-year-old spayed female black and tan Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. She was originally found as a stray in the fall of 2022 in Manteca, CA. Peach is a very friendly girl that loves to play with people and other dogs, and was adopted by a caring family. Unfortunately due to some breed restrictions, Peach was returned to rescue when her family had to relocate to a military base in Europe. She’s currently in foster care with A Dogs Best Friend. Peach remembers all of her training, and enjoys being back in a daycare environment.  Special Needs: Peach arrived with a milky eye, and during a routine exam we discovered she also had a heart murmur. Her eye color was the result of an injury, but is healing and does not cause her pain. We did chest X-rays and found that she has an enlarged heart, and the veterinary care team diagnosed her with a leaky valve. She was put on medication for life to manage it, but watching Peach you would have no idea that she’s anything but a normal, happy Doberman.  We would love to see Peach in a breed experienced home, but it’s not a requirement. Foster Update: Peach is 100% Velcro dog. She’s a sweet cuddle bug. Her leash skills are quite good thanks to her trainers. She is potty and crate trained. She enjoys the crate, but obviously prefers to be attached to her people. She is working on her obedience and impulse control. She has a good foundation in basic obedience - sit, down, place, heel and come. Peach has lived with children and proved to be very sweet with them. She’s got a heart of gold and will make one lucky family a wonderful forever friend. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at Manteca shelter in California, arriving to foster care on Sunday 9/18/22. Peach is fostered in Vancouver, WA and will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. April 11, 2025, 12:47 am

Story
Animal Profile: Hopper is an almost 3-year-old (DOB 8/12/2022) red neutered male cropped and docked Doberman who has lived in three different homes in his short life already. We're committed to ensuring his next home is his final home. Hopper is social/friendly with people and has lived without issues with another dog previously. Hopper was surrendered due to his high prey drive and desire to chase his previously families bikes and motorcycles. We immediately enrolled him in professional training with Tayah at To The Point Training, and he’s proving to be a quick study. We will share more information as we get to know him.  Foster Update:  Hopper is a handsome, high-energy Doberman with a heart full of potential and a mind eager to work. This Dober Dude is well on his way to becoming an exceptional companion thanks to ongoing training and his natural drive. Hopper is currently mastering his leash manners and doing great with feedback from his trainer. As a true working breed, he thrives on structure, clear communication, and plenty of physical and mental stimulation. He's highly food motivated, a quick learner, and has shown no reactivity to people or dogs on walks. That said, he can become tense or fixated when another dog is overly reactive from behind a barrier—something a savvy handler can easily help him work through with consistency and guidance. Hopper has no signs of resource guarding around food or toys and is all about the teamwork. Hopper would do best in a single-family home with a securely fenced yard and a family who’s experienced with working breeds. If you're ready to provide structure, enrichment, and lots of love, Hopper’s ready to be your loyal, energetic, and endlessly rewarding companion. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Hopper was surrendered to our rescue on 4/26/25 from his third home of six months, originally purchased from a breeder as a puppy, and is fostered with To the Point Dog Training in Tacoma. He will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. May 12, 2025, 11:51 am

Story
Animal Profile: Pippin stole our hearts from the start. He was reported to our rescue partners in Del Rio, TX when he was spotted with a face full of porcupine quills. He was friendly, but wasn't quite trusting enough to be caught. Lucky for Pip, Animal Control was able to scoop him up and get him to our friends at Animal Advocacy and Rescue Coalition. Pippin was treated for his injuries, and went from a shy and shutdown dog to a bouncy, happy boy in no time flat. Pippin loves other dogs, is gentle with baby puppies, and has had exposure to cats. He is estimated to be about a 1 year old and weighs 32lbs. He is so ready to find his home here in the PNW, and we can't wait to be a part of his happily ever after. Pippin does need a canine companion in his forever home as he looks towards that companionship for guidance and reassurance. He’d do best in a single family dwelling outside of the city as he does have a fear of cars. https://www.facebook.com/reel/936399421594284 https://www.facebook.com/share/r/fZpUjYRg3yRkMukx/ Foster Update: Don’t let his doberman features fool you—Pippin is a pint-size pup who is full grown at just under 30 lbs. He is a happy little guy who hops and pounces around outside when he plays fetch, and entertains himself with his favorite ropes and chew toys inside. He is full of personality—curious, playful, and always ready for a good walk or hike, but also extremely cuddly, snuggly, low-key and loving. He loves both canine and human companionship and has been found snoozing and snoring on top of his foster brother multiple times. He’s a smart dog who has picked up house-breaking, crate-training, and general domestic manners as if he’s never known otherwise. Pippin would make a fantastic addition to any family looking to add another playful companion to their pack. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Rooster is a sweet gentle soul that wants to make friends with everyone he meets. He’s a smart boy that is very well behaved. He currently lives with kids, other dogs, cats, rabbits and sheep that he socializes with well. But he is a bit fearful of the horses. He’d thrive in a loving home that would spend plenty of time with him and take him for walks and let him explore.
