Story
Animal Profile: Apollo was adopted as a puppy in 2018. He was well loved and cared for by a wonderful member of the dog community here in WA. Unfortunately, due to a tragic accident, his owner passed away and Apollo returned to the rescue. We are committed to finding him a new home that will uphold the standard of love and care Apollo received from his previous owner. Apollo is crate trained, house trained, and friendly with other dogs. In true Doberman form, he can be watchful of strangers, but does make friends easily. Apollo has great manners inside and outside the home, and will be a wonderful companion to one lucky family. Foster Update:  Apollo is a loyal and intelligent dog looking for a calm, committed home where he can truly bond with his person. He thrives as an only pet and would do best with someone who understands the value of patience and trust. Once you've earned his loyalty, Apollo is deeply devoted and eager to please. In the home, Apollo is easy to live with. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, knows all his basic commands and walks beautifully on leash. He prefers a quiet environment and enjoys having his own space, especially when it comes to interactions with other dogs. While he currently lives alongside other canines, he does not actively seek their company and would rather do his own thing. Apollo needs a home without cats or small animals due to his high prey drive. With the right person by his side, Apollo has all the makings of a wonderful, steadfast companion. If you're looking for a dog who wants to build a meaningful, one-on-one connection, Apollo may be the perfect match. Adoption Info:  Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Apollo is a WA state owner surrender who joined our rescue on 04/26/25.  November 8, 2025, 12:03 am

Story
Animal Profile: Taylor showed up on someone’s property way out in Wapato with 9 puppies. The finder was not interested in feeding or keeping her or her puppies, and was threatening to let them starve. A rescue contact reached out for help as Mama and babies were left outside, exposed to the elements. We could not leave them to suffer, so they all hitched a ride to the PNW. Foster Update:  Taylor is a smart, engaging, and affectionate girl who loves spending time with her people. She has excellent manners in the home — no counter surfing, she respects kitchen boundaries, and she’s careful and aware around the toddler in her foster home. While Taylor can share space with other dogs, she doesn’t particularly enjoy their company and would be happiest as an only dog. She is house-trained and settles nicely in a solid-sided kennel. Taylor can be vocal when left alone, so she’s best suited for a single-family home rather than an apartment. She’s looking for a family with a securely fenced yard and experience with large breeds. Due to her strong prey drive, she cannot be placed in a home with cats or small animals. Adoption Info: Taylor's adoption fee is $575 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Taylor and her 9 puppies are being surrendered to Dog Gone Seattle from their owner in Eastern Wa. They arrive to foster care 10/11/24 and will be available for adoption once we confirm they are healthy and well.   Taylor is smart, engaging and affectionate with her people. She has great manners in the home; she does not counter surf, respects boundaries in the kitchen, and is conscious of the space around the toddler in her foster home. Taylor can share space with other dogs, but doesn’t really enjoy their company. She would prefer to be an only dog. Taylor is house trained and does well in a solid sided kennel. She can be talkative when left alone, so we are not considering apartment homes for her at this time. Taylor is looking to join a family with a single family home, fenced yard, and large breed experience. She has very high prey drive and will not be placed in a home with cats or small animals. Story
Animal Profile: Copper is an estimated 3-year-old, 80 lb neutered male Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. He was originally picked up as a stray in Georgia and joined us via Project Freedom Ride. He was evaluated to be very friendly with dogs and people. Foster Update: Copper is young and full of energy, but it's easy to wear him out with some exercise. He loves to chase balls, although he is still working on returning and dropping them. Copper can be cautious around new people, but once he warms up to them (or they give him a treat), he is very affectionate. He is able to make friends with other dogs after slow and proper introductions. With a confident handler, Copper doesn't react much to other dogs when on leash. He likes to lead but does not pull on walks. Adopter Profile: Single family dwelling with a securely fenced yard. No cats or small animals. Large breed experience and breed experience a big plus!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/Bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Jane! This gorgeous 2-year-old, 51 lb Doberman/Rottweiler/Super Mutt mix is as sweet as they come! With her big brown eyes, soft expression, and eager-to-please personality, she is a total gem! Jane is a friendly, affectionate girl who loves rolling over for belly rubs and soaking up attention from her people. She’s smart, engaged, and already knows several commands, including sit, shake, and down. She’s the kind of dog who truly wants to connect with her handler. She has done well with other dogs and prefers slow introductions to help her feel comfortable. Once she warms up, she enjoys their company and can happily coexist. She’s also been sweet with all of our staff and is a total lovebug. Jane came to us a bit underweight, and we’re helping her put on some healthy pounds — she’s been such a good girl through it all. She would love a home that will take her on daily walks, fun outings, and continue her socialization and training to help her thrive. She could do well as an only dog with continued socialization, or she could also make a great additional dog in a home. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a great mix of smarts and sweetness, Jane is ready to be your new best friend! Jane is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Chango! Chango is a 4.5-year-old, 63 LB Doberman/Labrador Retriever mix who came to us from an overcrowded CA shelter after being found as a stray. We’re pretty sure he’s had a home before, as his sweet manners and gentle nature shine through. Chango is an old soul with the most loving brown eyes and floppy ears. He may be a little shy at first and still needs some confidence building with new places and city noises, but once he opens up, his playful, goofy, and bouncy side comes out. He’s easy-going, walks well on leash, and rides nicely in the car. He can be a strong boy at times and a little stubborn, but he knows some basic commands, is treat-motivated, and eager to please. Chango loves other dogs and would be so happy to have a canine friend in the home, though he could also do well as an only dog if his adopters continue his socialization and give him plenty of playdates. At home, he’s a total snugglebug—he loves toys, curling up on the couch, and taking cozy naps with a favorite toy by his side. With his rich chocolate coloring, gentle personality, and big, loving heart, Chango is the perfect blend of playful and laid-back. He’s just waiting for his forever family to show him the love and stability he deserves. Chango is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
Animal Profile: Palmer is a 1-year-old, 14 lb Chihuahua that found himself in a pickle: He wound up in the San Bernardino shelter on the euthanasia list due to his fearfulness, and the lack of space in the shelter. Luckily for Palmer, our rescue partners Angels of Rawley spotted him and swooped in for the save. We are excited to help him decompress so we can get to know his personality and find him a loving home. Foster Update: Palmer is a smart but very shy little guy. He is still quite nervous and it takes him a long minute to warm up to you, but once he does you have his heart. He does very well in his crate and is almost fully potty trained. His nervousness does result in excited pee at times. His favorite thing is watching tv with you, but tends to fall asleep being next to you. He will talk to you in his sleep and you'll experience his dreams with his movements. For all you NCIS fans, Palmer needs a Ducky in his life to teach him the ropes.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  will be arriving from a Angel's of Rawley and transported via Wiggle Butts, arriving to foster care on 1/26/25. He will be in foster care in the Seattle area and available for adoption soon!December 4, 2025, 3:26 pm
