Story
Riley is a loving 10 year old blue tick / Great Dane mix. He is great with adults and teenagers. He loves chest scratches, long walks, swimming, tug of war, chasing squirrels, strawberry tops and peanut butter. He’s still very active for a ten year old, with no history of joint or other medical issues, but still spends most of his day lounging on the couch or in the nearest sun beam. He dislikes thunderstorms, fireworks, and gluten. He comes from a home with cats where they tend to give each other space, so I’m unsure how he’d do with cats in a new home. Riley would be best in a quiet home where he’s the only dog, with no small children around. While he generally likes small humans he meets out in the world, being in small confined spaces with them, and the chaos that comes with, for extended periods of time is not ideal.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Myla Myla is a beautiful Bluetick Coonhound rescued in September 2024 from Cumberland County Shelter in Fayetteville, NC, where she was on the euthanasia list.  Myla is an enthusiastic, smart, and affectionate hound who loves to communicate her excitement with her bay. She is highly food-motivated, enjoys learning, and does best with structure and enrichment. She is not aggressive but does have some behavioral sensitivities, including frustration with barriers and noise sensitivity. She is actively working with the NC State Behavioral Medicine team and has completed a board-and-train at Green Beagle Lodge. All professional reports can be shared. Myla loves other dogs, lives well with a small dog, was respectful of a free-roam indoor bunny, and tested indifferent to cats at the shelter. She has a sensitive stomach and eats Purina HA prescription kibble. Myla would thrive in a committed, structured home with someone who understands hounds and enjoys training. Story
Cash is an almost 7-year-old Catahoula/Terrier mix with a strong gaze and a loyal heart. He is a people dog, happiest when he's near humans, whether that means following you around or curling up within a few feet on the couch. He has great manners. He has a low-to-moderate energy level. Cash is content lounging and napping, with a short morning walk and a longer evening walk - both followed naturally with food. In his down time, he will pick a cozy spot close by or he will bring you his toys when he wants you to chase him. He is good with fireworks and loud noises but weirdly doesn't love the sound of soft rain. Cash would do best in a calm, loving home where he can be part of the family. He a great match for adults or respectful older kids. On leash, he can be selective with other dogs and does best with space and calm handling, which is very manageable with basic guidance. Cash would love to meet the person or family who can give him a calm, loving place to land.

Cash has impeccable manners and a steady presence that instantly makes a home feel warmer. Cash enjoys a moderate pace of life. A short morning walk and a longer evening stroll keep him happy and healthy, followed by relaxing and napping nearby. When he’s feeling playful, he’ll bring you his toys, asking for a game of chase. He's also a great hiking or running partner. Cash would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can be fully included in family life. On leash, he can be selective with other dogs so he does best with space, calm handling, and careful introductions. He tends to get along best with female dogs or smaller male dogs. Story
Budreau is a playful, cuddly boy with a joyful spirit and a big heart. He rides beautifully in the car and is always ready for the next adventure — especially if it ends with snuggles. One of his favorite things is gently waking you up in the morning for hugs before starting his day. He loves to run and play with his dog friends, chew on his favorite toys, and engage in a good game of tug-of-war. Budreau would thrive in a home with a fenced yard or regular access to a safe play area, and he would do best with another playful dog to help burn off his happy energy. While he rarely barks and enjoys meeting new people, he can be a little cautious at first. Give him a moment, though, and his goofy, affectionate personality quickly shines through. Budreau is housetrained and does very well on a consistent routine. He wakes up ready to play, enjoys activity throughout the day, and is equally happy settling in for cozy naps. He would likely do great with kids. His compatibility with cats is unknown. Budreau is up to date on vaccines, preventatives, and microchipped, and will soon be neutered. He's ready to find a home where he can share his playful energy and loving nature.
