Cooper is a 4-year-old Bluetick Coonhound with a big personality and an even bigger heart. We adopted him when he was around 1–2 years old, and he’s been the most loyal, loving companion ever since. He’s up to date on all his vaccinations and takes regular flea/tick preventative. Cooper is incredibly social—he gets along wonderfully with people and other dogs. He especially thrives in a home with other pups to play with, as he has lots of playful energy to share. As a working breed, Cooper would do best with some space to run and explore—he’d be in heaven on a property with land or a big yard. When he’s all tuckered out, Cooper transforms into the sweetest cuddle bug. He loves hugs, snuggles, and being as close as possible to his humans. We’re devastated to be rehoming him, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we’re moving from a house to an apartment without a yard. Archie is a handsome tricolored Coonhound/German Hunt Terrier that weighs 45lbs and arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 11/18 as a stray. He has a shiny coat and looks like he’s been well taken care of. He has the right mix of exuberant and yet gentle behavior. A few times, I actually caught him smiling. At times he’s playful and tries to entice you to play. He exudes joy! He’s athletic and climbed on our play equipment. He sits for treats and takes them gently. He’s well behaved and definitely wants to please. He comes to you when you call him and loves to have his ears stroked. He walks well on a leash. He did his business immediately in the yard. A pile of blankets or his own bed would be a bonus to be indoors and cuddly close with his family.

Meet Roscoe, a delightful boy that came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/8 as a stray. Roscoe weighs 80 pounds and is about 4 years old. He is a very handsome boy, that appears from my dog scanner to be a mix of a few different breeds such as Catahoula, Great Dane, and some Central Asian Shepherd. No matter, he is 100% good boy!! Once out of his kennel he loves to investigate all the smells in the shelter yard. Then he will take a break and romp all over the yard, with mini zoomies. It was fun to watch him do this with a big smile on his face. He has a happy go lucky personality. He enjoys being petted, and takes treats gently. Walking past all the dogs barking he shows no interest in them. If you do have another pup in the family please ask the shelter for a dog test. You can see he is confident and outgoing, and hopes his new family will come get him soon. He would love to have a secured yard to play in, but must be an indoor pup so he can spend time with his human companions. You can’t go wrong with Roscoe! Come spend time with him!
