Story
“LEXI” is a very pretty, 2-year-old (12/23/2023), 19 pound, red, Miniature Poodle who measures 20” high from the floor to her withers. She is AKC registered, but we do not have her papers.
Lexi had been an only dog with a family who deeply loved and cared for her since she was a puppy. Sadly, she now comes to us as they just do not have time for her.
When Lexi first arrived, she was very scared and had no idea of what to do. But she is also a very smart Poodle who, after a couple of days with us, quickly learned all about life in a new home.
Lexi just LOVES attention. She loves men as well as women and older children. She is learning to become a Velcro Poodle as she will follow you around the house wanting to know what you’re doing and if she can help!
Just sit down and she will jump up onto the couch to sit next to you. Then while I’m on the computer, she will lay patiently in a dog bed while watching me.
Doing the Poodle dance (video) is what this silly puppy girl will do to get attention from the other Poodles. While she has always been an only dog, she enjoys playing with other dogs her size AND those who want to play with her. Otherwise, she will be just fine as an only dog.
When people come, she is the first to let us know there is a “STRANGER!” in our home and then will try to quickly get your attention before anyone else can.
Lexi is a perfect girl in our home (house-trained). She quickly learned to come when called, loves her food, treats (just rattle the bag) and is learning to walk on a leash, which she greatly enjoys.
*A SECURLY FENCED YARD will be required as Lexi has always had one and is learning to relieve herself on a leash.
*Preference will be given to a family with Poodle experience.
BUT PLEASE:
*NO large dogs as she completely avoids them.
*NO aggressive or assertive dogs (they scare her and me).
*NO young children.
*Like most rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota.
Lexi was recently spayed; her teeth were cleaned, a few were pulled and has been Veterinary checked healthy. She is up to date on all her vaccinations, worming, has been Home Again microchipped and registered. Her heartworm / Lymes / Ehrlich / Anaplasmosis (4DX) test was negative and has been placed on a preventative.
As with all the other cute Poodles we have adopted, Lexi’s adoption fee is 1 million, trillion, zillion dollars. However, for the right family her adoption fee is $650.00 which includes $47.00 for our 7.375% Minnesota state sales tax and helps pay for some of her Veterinary expenses.
Also included is her leash, collar, harness, dog coat, a bag of quality dog food, a dog food container, dog dishes, treats, various toys, a cute toy box, a soft dog bed with a blanket and lots of good information to help your Poodle’s adoption move forward on the right paw!
While she had never been crated, we can also include a wire crate as she is kenneled at night and when we are gone. Lexi is just fine with that.
Again, Lexi is a VERY NICE, smart, fun loving, precious Poodle girl who wants and truly deserves a loving “forevermore” home.
