Meet Lisa—a wonderfully goofy, deeply affectionate dog who gives her whole heart to her people. Once you’re part of Lisa’s inner circle, you’re in for enthusiastic greetings, full-body cuddles, ridiculous antics, and some of the most expressive facial reactions you’ll ever see. She has a huge capacity for love.
Lisa came into rescue after living with severe, painful eye and ear infections. Following extensive veterinary care, including several surgeries, she is feeling better and ready to enjoy life with a family of her own.
There is so much to love about Lisa:
She loves being close to her people. She will bury her head into you with all her love just pouring into her person. She is a lap poodle, all 60lbs of her.
She is silly, playful, and endlessly entertaining.
She is potty trained and can be trusted to free-roam when left alone.
She rides beautifully in the car and hops right in.
She does well at the groomer.
She doesn’t counter surf or guard food or other resources.
She calmly passes other dogs on walks, even dogs barking at her.
She has excellent recall and is highly motivated by treats.
She loves toys, balls, walks, and a good game of chase with canine friends.
She has undergone a gastropexy, which greatly reduces the risk of the dangerous stomach twisting associated with bloat in deep-chested dogs.
She is also pretty lazy and sleeps most of the day: a 45min-1hr walk a day and mental enrichment puzzles, lick mats, and a chew project are all that she needs to be fulfilled.
She does not need another dog in the home, but she would love canine friends who can visit.
Lisa’s ideal home will be a calm, predictable single-family home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a physically fenced yard.
She needs a family willing to introduce new people gradually and proactively manage her with people she doesn’t know. It would be best for her to go a home with few visitors. Lisa has responded incredibly well to positive reinforcement based training and continues to make progress.
Lisa is available for a 2-4 week trial adoption to ensure she fits into her forever home.
