This handsome 80-pound silver fox is officially retired from a life of breeding and is ready to enjoy the good life in a loving home. Beneath his big frame is an even bigger heart — Cubby is truly a gentle teddy bear who lives for pets, cuddles, and companionship.
He is potty trained, crate trained, and generally walks well on a leash, though he can put his full 80 pounds behind a good sniff when something catches his attention. He may mark outside on the deck to announce his presence, but he has never marked inside the house and responds very well to verbal correction.
He gets along great with other dogs but is perfectly content lounging on his own while the younger pups play. If with other dogs, he tends to let the other dogs eat first and just nibbles at his food, so we have to keep an eye on him to make sure he gets his fair share. He came in with his son, Jax, but the two are not bonded and can be adopted separately. As for cats, he has no interest in them these days — he’s already done enough tail chasing in his younger years!
He’s happy to potty while out on walks, so a fenced yard may not be necessary. He’s also a pretty quiet guy and rarely barks, except to happily announce when you’re home and he’s ready to come out of his crate for extra cuddles.
At night, you’ll find him either stretched out on the floor or cozied up on the bed. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion with plenty of love left to give, this sweet senior boy is ready to steal your heart.
