Story
Meet Kasper — the best of both worlds! Kasper is a 25-lb Border Collie mix who beautifully balances adventure and chill. While his breed might suggest high energy, Kasper is actually a pretty relaxed, easygoing guy. He’s extremely observant and loves to quietly watch everything going on around him, taking it all in with those thoughtful eyes. He has the cutest way of taking treats—gently showing his teeth as he carefully accepts one from your hand—and his manners don’t stop there. Kasper walks very nicely on a leash, knows sit, and is perfectly content to calmly sit and watch the world go by. At just the right size, Kasper would be an excellent companion for hikes and adventures, but he’s equally happy hanging out on a Saturday afternoon, relaxing and watching the game with you. If you’re looking for a smart, mellow dog who can do it all, Kasper might be your perfect match. Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard. If you have any questions or to adopt a dog an application must submitted. Filling out this form does not obligate you to adopt, but gives us the information needed to make sure the pet is suited to your home. HOW TO APPLY: From Petfinder.com The fastest way to get to the adoptable dog page is to copy and then paste this link into your browser: https://unitedanimalfriends.org/adoptable-dogs/ When you are on the UAF website Select "Adoptable Dogs" and pick the dog you are interested in. To apply to adopt, go into the dog's profile, and click the gray "Apply for Adoption" button to get started. You could be a life saver! Help us save more lives by fostering a dog or cat. Story
Meet Jade, a gentle soul with a heart ready to bloom. Found abandoned on the reservation and being bullied by other dogs, Jade came to us scared and unsure of people. With time, patience, and kindness, she has begun to shine. She now trusts our UAF volunteers, and every day we see more of the sweet, playful pup she truly is. Jade is naturally timid with humans, but she thrives when she has a confident dog to follow. A canine companion who can show her the ropes would be a wonderful match. Once she feels safe, her playful side takes over—she loves to wrestle with other dogs, and a good game of chase (or being chased!) is her absolute favorite. With the right adopter—someone patient, gentle, and committed to reminding her she will never be abandoned again—Jade’s transformation will be beautiful. When she’s comfortable, her personality sparkles: she’ll invite you into a game of catch-me-if-you-can before flopping down for affection. If you’re looking for a tender, dog-loving companion who just needs a little time to trust, Jade may be the perfect addition to your family. *********************** Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. Story
Meet Roxy! 🐾Roxy is an approximately 4–6 month old female Border Collie mix who is as sweet as they come. She absolutely adores people and loves making new friends—both human and canine! Roxy enjoys playing with other dogs and has a rough-and-tumble play style, so she’d do best with another dog who’s confident and happy to keep up. If her playmate is willing, Roxy could play for hours on end.As a young pup, Roxy is very high energy and will thrive in a home that can offer her an active lifestyle along with plenty of mental stimulation. She’s still learning and will need a family who is willing and able to work on basic obedience training to help her grow into her best self.We are unsure how Roxy does with cats or children, so adopters should be prepared to provide training and guidance to help her learn appropriate behaviors around either.Roxy has an appointment scheduled for spay surgery, rabies vaccination, and microchip at Chino Valley Animal Hospital on 1/8/26. She has already received her Bordetella vaccine and first round of DHPP, but will need one follow-up DHPP to complete the series. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate, and energetic companion and are ready to help a young dog learn and thrive, Roxy may be the perfect match for you! Please call the shelter at 928-636-4223 ext. 7 to book an appointment.

Story
Echo is a sweet border collie mix who is about 1 year old. We adopted her from our local humane society and were unaware she was deaf until after we brought her home. We have done private training and she knows many hand signals. She is house broken and crate trained. She is progressing with walking on a leash, but is reactive to movement, as many herding dogs are. She struggles with resource guarding around food, which has been quite difficult with our young children, and is the reason we have made the difficult decision to re-home. Echo is a smart and very quick learner. She loves to play with her flirt pole and go for hikes. She would make an excellent companion in a home that is child-free and experienced. We will send her crate, harness, and beloved toys with her.
