Story
🐕 🐕 DAISY DUKE Female border collie mix approximately 1.5 years, 30 lbs & #AVAILABLE – For photos of all of our available dogs please click https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐕 Meet our sweet little Daisy Duke! She is about 1.5 years old and weighs 30lbs with a short, easy-care coat. Daisy is very people and dog social. She likes to “hug” when meeting new people and at home she loves to follow her foster mom around the house! Daisy also loves to play and wrestle with other dogs and would do great with another young playful dog, preferably a dog her own size or bigger. Daisy's favorite thing is the ball! She is super-fast and bounds like a deer after the ball, then brings it most of the way back, flipping it around and playing with it the rest of the way. With her speed, athleticism, smarts, and energy level, she might make an amazing sport, agility, or flyball partner. Daisy also loves the water and is an excellent swimmer. She is a high energy girl who has a lot of drive, so she will need a home that is going to do more with her than walks and ball play. Even though she is active and ready-for-anything, Daisy has an off switch and will settle on the floor after she has had ample activity. Daisy walks great on a leash and rides easily in the car. She is potty trained, if she is given ample opportunity to go outside to do her business. Her crate-training is coming along nicely. She is a girl who likes to be included, so she is still learning that she can settle down and have some alone time in her crate. Daisy is both treat and praise motivated. She can be a little bit hand shy at times and will need some patience and a calm, soft voice. With her drive, she shouldn’t live in a home with cats or dogs smaller than her; that said, she would love to have another dog to romp and play chase with. If you’re looking for a dog who is a great size, a girlie with enthusiasm, smarts, trainability, and agility, Daisy Duke just might be your girl. She is also sweet and goofy and will give you lots of love and cuddles. Daisy is looking for someone who has BC experience and understands the needs of a medium/high drive BC. She would not be the right dog for a first-time dog/BC owner. Our Daisy Duke is a shining star who needs the right direction and lots of love to be her best! DAISY DUKE is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative, on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved application and wish to inquire, send an email to: adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have not filled out an application, or your application is more than 1 year old, fill out an application here: Adoption Application. DAISY DUKE is being fostered in Elverta in Placer County, CA.

🐶 🐕 PERKINS (aka PERK) Special Needs Male Border collie Mix 7 years, 52 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Hi, my name is Perkins – just call me Perk - and I am about 7 years young. My Mom thinks I am a Border collie mixed with some type of guardian dog because I watch over my family and pack mates. I have notified them TWICE of rattlesnakes in our yard, barking loudly while keeping my pack mates at a safe distance away. Mom says I am a hero dog, as we have little kids and lots of dogs in our yard that need protection from dangers like that. Mom says I am special needs because I have some incontinence issues. I don't really know what that means. I let Mom and Dad know when I have to go potty, but when I am done, Mom says I leak. We've tried some different medicines and diagnostics, and Dad agrees it really isn't bad. When I hear the Velcro separate on my diaper I know its “free time” in the house. I stand still until I feel that little pat on my backside to signal it’s secure. Mom uses washable diapers, but I would probably do fine with other types as well. I don't like leaving my homestead, so when it's time for my checkup I get something special to help me relax. Everyone at the Vet’s office loves me and tells me what a good boy I am. Speaking of love, I love to chase a tennis ball. I may or may not bring it back depending on my whim at that moment. I also love to eat. Give me food, give me treats, YAY. I sit nice for my meals, which I always eat in my crate. I sleep quietly in my crate, but it's not my favorite place, and I will warn you if strangers are lurking outside because that’s my job. Oh, if you have that white stuff that’s cold, wet, and covers the ground that would be fun. I had a blast the one time it “snowed” here, that’s what my hoomans called it. Dad says he took the cutest video ever when I kept poking my nose out the doggy door, then retreated because what the heck is that? But once I was nudged out the door we had so much fun. I have been with my foster Mom and Dad for a few years and have helped with many of the other dogs and puppies that have come through our home, but I would also be fine as an only dog. I do enjoy playing at the other dog’s level. I wrestle with Skittles, because she is my size and she can take it, but I am gentIe with smaller dogs, or dogs not interested in that sort of thing. I am super friendly and loyal once I get to know you. I can be very vocal when I want something or when I am trying to warn you about something. I tolerate Mom's inside cats, but I don't like any cats in my yard. Mom says I need a cat-free environment for their benefit as well as mine (whatever that means). If you think you would be interested in me, and would like to learn even more about what makes me special, please submit an application so you can talk to my foster mom and dad (because we all know dogs can’t talk). Thank You, Perk PERKINS is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about PERKINS, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration. PERKINS is fostering north of Corning in Tehama County, CA.

Story
Pepper is a cattle dog through and through. High energy. She is shy and has very high anxiety which causes tension between my other dogs. If she has a toy or task to keep her occupied her anxiety dissappears. Would thrive as a working dog. Not good with cats. She is great with my teenager, I don't think she would be okay around toddlers.Would be a great working dog. She has adapted well to a boundry collar and harness.
