🐶 🐕 PERKINS (aka PERK) Special Needs Male Border collie Mix 7 years, 52 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Hi, my name is Perkins – just call me Perk - and I am about 7 years young. My Mom thinks I am a Border collie mixed with some type of guardian dog because I watch over my family and pack mates. I have notified them TWICE of rattlesnakes in our yard, barking loudly while keeping my pack mates at a safe distance away. Mom says I am a hero dog, as we have little kids and lots of dogs in our yard that need protection from dangers like that. Mom says I am special needs because I have some incontinence issues. I don't really know what that means. I let Mom and Dad know when I have to go potty, but when I am done, Mom says I leak. We've tried some different medicines and diagnostics, and Dad agrees it really isn't bad. When I hear the Velcro separate on my diaper I know its “free time” in the house. I stand still until I feel that little pat on my backside to signal it’s secure. Mom uses washable diapers, but I would probably do fine with other types as well. I don't like leaving my homestead, so when it's time for my checkup I get something special to help me relax. Everyone at the Vet’s office loves me and tells me what a good boy I am. Speaking of love, I love to chase a tennis ball. I may or may not bring it back depending on my whim at that moment. I also love to eat. Give me food, give me treats, YAY. I sit nice for my meals, which I always eat in my crate. I sleep quietly in my crate, but it's not my favorite place, and I will warn you if strangers are lurking outside because that’s my job. Oh, if you have that white stuff that’s cold, wet, and covers the ground that would be fun. I had a blast the one time it “snowed” here, that’s what my hoomans called it. Dad says he took the cutest video ever when I kept poking my nose out the doggy door, then retreated because what the heck is that? But once I was nudged out the door we had so much fun. I have been with my foster Mom and Dad for a few years and have helped with many of the other dogs and puppies that have come through our home, but I would also be fine as an only dog. I do enjoy playing at the other dog’s level. I wrestle with Skittles, because she is my size and she can take it, but I am gentIe with smaller dogs, or dogs not interested in that sort of thing. I am super friendly and loyal once I get to know you. I can be very vocal when I want something or when I am trying to warn you about something. I tolerate Mom's inside cats, but I don't like any cats in my yard. Mom says I need a cat-free environment for their benefit as well as mine (whatever that means). If you think you would be interested in me, and would like to learn even more about what makes me special, please submit an application so you can talk to my foster mom and dad (because we all know dogs can’t talk). Thank You, Perk PERKINS is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Story
🐶 🐕 JUNI Female border collie mix approximately 1 Year, 36 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Juni is a 1-year-old, 36# spayed female, who thinks she is a puppy. She is sweet & happy to meet people, even at the vet's office. She loves to go for a visit at her friend Amanda's house, zooming all around that yard, stealing toys she finds hidden in the garden, & snuggling on the couch after a good romp. This girlie loves to snuggle! Juni is crazy about toys, especially her Hollee-Roller ball. She will toss it in the air for herself, catching it & running loops around the yard with it. She also likes to play fetch with her foster mom & is learning that when she brings the toy back, her foster mom will throw it again. Juni also likes hard chew toys like antlers, hoofs, & pizzles. Even when she's in her crate, she is wagging her tail & playing with her toys. She does need to be supervised in the house so that she doesn't mistake one of your things for a toy of hers. She is learning to "leave it" or "bring it to me." Juni enjoys meeting other dogs on her walks. And she plays boundlessly with her foster brother. They take turns chasing each other & wrestling. And Juni runs like the wind! She is not sure about her foster sister, who is as crabby as they come. Juni initially defers & backs up when Nancy tells her, but minutes later she tries again to engage Nancy in play. Juni would not be a good fit for a home with cats because of her relentless joy in running & chasing. Juni is learning to walk on a leash, to sit, & to wait before coming through doors--crate doors & house doors. She has a great recall. And she is both treat & toy-motivated. So, while Juni seems not to have had much guidance in her previous home, she has a nice desire to please & wants to learn. She wants to be included, & likes to go places in the car, riding quietly in her crate. She is crate-trained, & is making great progress in her house-training, pottying on command--even on leash. She sleeps through the night without having to go outside, but during the day she still needs to be taken outside often & reinforced for pottying outside. Juni is friendly, sweet, active, & wants to learn. She is agile & fast & a nice size. She might enjoy dogs sports like agility or nosework & activities where she can run like sprints on a beach or playing chase with her dog pal. She would enjoy most anything she would get to do with her person. She will not be content with playing fetch & walks around the black. She wants fun, learning opportunities, & activity, & then to hang out with her people. She can live happily as an only dog, or with a dog that matches her exuberant play style. JUNI is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about JUNI, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. 🐕 🐕 CORAL (Seafaring puppies) Female border collie mix approximately 18 weeks, 17 lbs & #AVAILABLE – For more photos please click https://norcalbcrescue.org/featured/CORAL/ 🐕 🐕 This sweet little sea soul is an absolute darling of a girl. At 17 lbs and 18 weeks, CORAL is out to steal your heart. Her smooth, soft white coat is highlighted with black spotted markings just emerging throughout her long body and cute ears. CORAL also has that signature border collie mark over her left eye. She came in with her brothers Marlin and Squid, but were separated about a week ago (you may have seen their preview post) and all are thriving. CORAL is gaining confidence daily. The Vet staff could not get enough of her. She took her shots and microchip injection like a champ. Her favorite part was the treats she got for being such a good girl. We have game night every Friday night here at the foster house. The first night she met the group, Coral was rather shy, but this past Friday night she did much better. We had her out the whole evening. She had fun playing with our friends, who gave her lots of attention. The rest of the evening she just parked herself next to one of us waiting patiently to be petted and treated. She takes her treats very gently. We are very proud of her. Coral is crate trained and sleeps quietly all night long. When she comes in from playing with her foster brothers and sisters, who are 3-4 times her size, she gets her fill of water then heads right to her crate for down time. She is doing well with her house training, but needs a little bit of work in that area. CORAL is very smart, mostly treat but also praise motivated, so training should be a blast. She mastered the doggy door almost immediately. Coral travels quietly in her crate with no signs of car sickness or stress. CORAL enjoys bones and toys, couch time, and playtime with the big dogs. They have really helped accelerate her progress. She’ll follow the dogs outside without dawdling about, and comes running with a short whistle. Mental stimulation and physical activities should put her on a track to stardom. Because she takes her queues so well from her foster siblings, we feel she would do best in a home with a well-balanced, playful dog, from whom she could continue to learn and grow to be the best gal she can be. CORAL is started on her puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. She is also on flea & tick and heartworm prevention. As a condition of puppy adoption, she will need to be spayed when she reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded. If you have an approved application and wish to inquire, send an email to: adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have not filled out an application, or your application is more than 1 year old, fill out an application here: Adoption Application. 🐶 🐕 WILLOW Female Border collie mix approximately 5 Months, 23 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Meet Willow! Willow is an approximately 5-month-old puppy weighing about 23 pounds, and she’s the perfect mix of adventurous and affectionate. With her beautiful black-and-white rough coat and bright personality, she’s sure to capture hearts wherever she goes. Willow is an outgoing, gregarious young dog who loves spending time with people and joining in on life’s adventures. When she enters a new environment, she may take a minute to observe and take it all in—but give her about two minutes, and she quickly blossoms into a playful, happy puppy ready to explore the world. She enjoys playing with other dogs in social settings, but Willow would prefer to have her home and her humans all to herself. Because of this, she would do best as the only dog in the household, where she can soak up all the attention and continue building confidence with her person. Willow settles nicely in a crate or pen at night and waits patiently in the morning for her humans to wake up and take her out for her potty break. Like any puppy, she will thrive with a committed family who is ready to continue her socialization, leash skills, and basic manners training. She is highly food- and toy-motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. With guidance, structure, and plenty of positive experiences, Willow has all the ingredients to grow into a wonderful companion—this young lady truly is the whole package. Willow is crate-trained, house-trained, and up to date on vaccinations. She is also on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate young dog who will happily join you on adventures and then cuddle up afterward, Willow might just be your girl. WILLOW is started on her puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. She is also on flea & tick and heartworm prevention.
