We have to rehome Jelly due to unforeseen human medical and employment problems, nothing that is her fault. She is an amazing dog and deserves a family that can love her with all their attention.Jelly has the softest head in the world, and it hugs her giant brain. She has this awesome dual personality like most herders/workers; super locked-in and goofy goober snuggle worm.Rescued from a life living in a car, Jelly is a great roadtrip companion who is amazing on leash and good at learning new tricks. She's still a puppy and is learning so much about the world every day. I love her silly expressions, and the way she dives headfirst into your lap with her butt in the air. Story
Meet Stan 🐾 Stan is a 2-year-old Border Collie who came to us from Kern County Shelter with a broken tibia and fibula, likely from being hit by a car. The day he arrived, we took radiographs, confirmed the severity of the break, and our doctors put together a game plan. On 8/20 he had surgery to place a plate and stabilize the fractures. He's officially on the road to recovery. The best patient we've ever had. Through all of it, Stan has been nothing but sweet. This boy wags his tail every single time you tell him he's handsome (and he is). He goes to his bed when you tell him to. He loves his toys and his puppy ice cream cups. He's the kind of dog that makes you wonder how he ended up anywhere but a loving home. What to know about Stan: Currently recovering from surgery and will be available once he's fully healed Incredibly well-behaved, knows commands and listens beautifully Lives for compliments, seriously, tell him he's handsome and watch that tail go His dream home? A farm or property where he can run and do Border Collie things, but also come inside and lounge with his people Stan's been through a lot, but he's never stopped wagging. Once he's healed, he's going to need a home with space to run and a human who tells him he's the best boy every single day. Because he is. Ready to meet your new best friend? All Wags and Whiskers pets go home vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Many of our animals come from unknown backgrounds, so please be ready for a 10+ year commitment of love. 📞 Call 530-895-8888 to schedule an appointment, or simply apply to adopt online. Already applied in the last 6 months? Just give us a call! We don't offer holds, so when you find your match, they're ready to go home with you.

Story
🐶 🐕 PERKINS (aka PERK) Special Needs Male Border collie Mix 7 years, 52 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Hi, my name is Perkins – just call me Perk - and I am about 7 years young. My Mom thinks I am a Border collie mixed with some type of guardian dog because I watch over my family and pack mates. I have notified them TWICE of rattlesnakes in our yard, barking loudly while keeping my pack mates at a safe distance away. Mom says I am a hero dog, as we have little kids and lots of dogs in our yard that need protection from dangers like that. Mom says I am special needs because I have some incontinence issues. I don't really know what that means. I let Mom and Dad know when I have to go potty, but when I am done, Mom says I leak. We've tried some different medicines and diagnostics, and Dad agrees it really isn't bad. When I hear the Velcro separate on my diaper I know its “free time” in the house. I stand still until I feel that little pat on my backside to signal it’s secure. Mom uses washable diapers, but I would probably do fine with other types as well. I don't like leaving my homestead, so when it's time for my checkup I get something special to help me relax. Everyone at the Vet’s office loves me and tells me what a good boy I am. Speaking of love, I love to chase a tennis ball. I may or may not bring it back depending on my whim at that moment. I also love to eat. Give me food, give me treats, YAY. I sit nice for my meals, which I always eat in my crate. I sleep quietly in my crate, but it's not my favorite place, and I will warn you if strangers are lurking outside because that’s my job. Oh, if you have that white stuff that’s cold, wet, and covers the ground that would be fun. I had a blast the one time it “snowed” here, that’s what my hoomans called it. Dad says he took the cutest video ever when I kept poking my nose out the doggy door, then retreated because what the heck is that? But once I was nudged out the door we had so much fun. I have been with my foster Mom and Dad for a few years and have helped with many of the other dogs and puppies that have come through our home, but I would also be fine as an only dog. I do enjoy playing at the other dog’s level. I wrestle with Skittles, because she is my size and she can take it, but I am gentIe with smaller dogs, or dogs not interested in that sort of thing. I am super friendly and loyal once I get to know you. I can be very vocal when I want something or when I am trying to warn you about something. I tolerate Mom's inside cats, but I don't like any cats in my yard. Mom says I need a cat-free environment for their benefit as well as mine (whatever that means). If you think you would be interested in me, and would like to learn even more about what makes me special, please submit an application so you can talk to my foster mom and dad (because we all know dogs can’t talk). Thank You, Perk PERKINS is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about PERKINS, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration. PERKINS is fostering north of Corning in Tehama County, CA.
