Story
🐶 🐕 ELLIE Female Border collie mix approximately 3 Years, 34 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Meet Ellie, a 34#, 3-year-old spayed border collie mix. Ellie is friendly, affectionate, and loves people. She is the kind of dog who doesn’t just wag her tail when you come home—she greets you with a full-body wiggle that makes it impossible not to smile. This affectionate, gentle girl lives for closeness and will happily scoot herself closer and closer until she’s curled right into your lap for cuddles. At 3-years-old, Ellie has a wonderful moderate energy level. She loves chasing a ball (and proudly brings it back!) but is just as content relaxing by your side. She’s quiet, rarely barks, and has lovely house manners. Ellie is crate-trained, housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, knows "sit," has a good recall, and—like most smart girls—has a soft spot for treats. Ellie gets along well with the dogs at the vet clinic where her foster mom works and is good with cats, making her a great candidate for a multi-pet home. She also adores car rides and gets excited to head to work each day, ready for her next adventure. Ellie is a tripod and lost a limb in an accident, but don’t let that fool you—it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She navigates life with confidence, joy, and grace. Adding to her charm is a beautiful blue speckle in her left eye that makes her truly unforgettable. Ellie’s dream home is simple—one filled with love, affection, and plenty of cuddles. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be close to her person—walking, playing ball, or simply hanging out, Ellie might just be your perfect match. ELLIE is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about ELLIE, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. ELLIE is fostering in Chico in Butte County, CA.

Story
🐶 🐕 PERKINS (aka PERK) Special Needs Male Border collie Mix 7 years, 52 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Hi, my name is Perkins – just call me Perk - and I am about 7 years young. My Mom thinks I am a Border collie mixed with some type of guardian dog because I watch over my family and pack mates. I have notified them TWICE of rattlesnakes in our yard, barking loudly while keeping my pack mates at a safe distance away. Mom says I am a hero dog, as we have little kids and lots of dogs in our yard that need protection from dangers like that. Mom says I am special needs because I have some incontinence issues. I don't really know what that means. I let Mom and Dad know when I have to go potty, but when I am done, Mom says I leak. We've tried some different medicines and diagnostics, and Dad agrees it really isn't bad. When I hear the Velcro separate on my diaper I know its “free time” in the house. I stand still until I feel that little pat on my backside to signal it’s secure. Mom uses washable diapers, but I would probably do fine with other types as well. I don't like leaving my homestead, so when it's time for my checkup I get something special to help me relax. Everyone at the Vet’s office loves me and tells me what a good boy I am. Speaking of love, I love to chase a tennis ball. I may or may not bring it back depending on my whim at that moment. I also love to eat. Give me food, give me treats, YAY. I sit nice for my meals, which I always eat in my crate. I sleep quietly in my crate, but it's not my favorite place, and I will warn you if strangers are lurking outside because that’s my job. Oh, if you have that white stuff that’s cold, wet, and covers the ground that would be fun. I had a blast the one time it “snowed” here, that’s what my hoomans called it. Dad says he took the cutest video ever when I kept poking my nose out the doggy door, then retreated because what the heck is that? But once I was nudged out the door we had so much fun. I have been with my foster Mom and Dad for a few years and have helped with many of the other dogs and puppies that have come through our home, but I would also be fine as an only dog. I do enjoy playing at the other dog’s level. I wrestle with Skittles, because she is my size and she can take it, but I am gentIe with smaller dogs, or dogs not interested in that sort of thing. I am super friendly and loyal once I get to know you. I can be very vocal when I want something or when I am trying to warn you about something. I tolerate Mom's inside cats, but I don't like any cats in my yard. Mom says I need a cat-free environment for their benefit as well as mine (whatever that means). If you think you would be interested in me, and would like to learn even more about what makes me special, please submit an application so you can talk to my foster mom and dad (because we all know dogs can’t talk). Thank You, Perk PERKINS is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about PERKINS, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration. PERKINS is fostering north of Corning in Tehama County, CA.

My name is Daisy! You may have seen me on the news... I'm kind of famous! My story is unique because, well, I fell in an abandoned well! Luckily the fireman saved me and now I'm looking for a forever home. I'm also unique because I'm deaf. That doesn't stop be from being a happy, spirited dog, though. Story
Zorro is an amazing cattle dog mix who will greet you with a big doggy smile and wags of his tail. His beautiful pale blue eyes look up often as he wants to play. His soft, short, handsome brindle and white coat probably does not shed much. Zorro has a superpower of walking on his hind legs, which he loves to show off, but he walks nicely on a loose leash too, especially for treats. He may be hiding his masked swordsman traits under his keen intelligence. He would love to show you how fast he can run. This handsome boy wants to please, and will pick up manners and tricks quickly with patience and love. This animal is at the City of Chico Animal Shelter.
