Story
Hi I`m Ember! I am looking for an accountability partner interested in starting a new exercise program with me. I have lived with cats in the past and did well, I am pretty social with other dogs but my history with kids is unknown. Proper management and slow introductions will help me succeed in any new home environment.

Story
I’d love to be your best buddy! In front of you, beside you, or right on your tail: I want to be with you. Hi! I’m Hobbs. I have learned so much in my foster home. We are always working on new things or improving how I do the things I know. I am sweet, goofy, playful, and can be intensely energetic at times. I love to be by your side or looking out a window - preferably with you. I’m great at fetch indoors with small tosses, or bigger throws in the yard. I can even play “turns” with light ball tosses in the house with my foster sister. I’m better at waiting my turn than she is! General Socialization Notes: I am super smart! I have some great cues that I know will impress you. Some I picked up after just a couple repetitions. I’d love to show you. “Calm” is probably my best and favorite. “Back” is good too. I’m getting pretty good at “place” so I’m out of the way during meal prep. I know “go pee”, “upstairs”, “in the house”, and of course the basics “sit, down, shake, off.” I get upset and sad if I think I did it wrong so praise and reassurance matter a lot. If there’s a squeaker or toy piece on the floor I’ll bring it to you and wait for payment in treat form. You should have treats ready for quick payment. I’ve made progress on walking. It’s still not easy and I continue to work on it. Rabbits are my downfall. I pull suddenly and hard trying to chase them. I do love evening walks when it’s cool and quiet and I can sniff everything. I get super excited in the car and I have this screamy bark for the first few blocks, then I settle down. I don’t like the crate much. I’ll go in, but I bark and howl when I’m left in there. I can be free in the house without destroying things though, so I don’t need the crate much. I am happiest if I’m just free in the house. I do okay just in a room too if that works better for you. If I do get nervous, taking a drink calms me so a bowl of water available is helpful. I have a very strong dislike of delivery trucks and their drivers. They are super suspicious! I really don’t like that they come to the porch sometimes. Even just driving by bothers me. The vacuum and I don’t get along. The lawn mower is no better. I try to grab them, so it’s best if I’m in a different room when you vacuum - in the house when you mow. The wind scares me. I look for a safe place under a desk or need some reassurance on windy days. I am very willing and eager to work on things so I hope my new human(s) feel the same. Does Hobbs like other animals? I love my foster sisters. They are nearly my size but older and can’t play the way I’d like to play. Slow introductions to other dogs are probably smart. I live with a macaw who is out of his cage a lot and I get along with him. It took a while for us to get used to each other. I’ve not been around cats recently. They might look too much like rabbits so probably not ideal. Does Hobbs like children? Older kids are fine. I’m likely a bit too much for smaller ones. I get a bit jumpy sometimes and I race around when I’m excited. I’d love someone to play fetch with me. Maybe a teenager. I live with a handicapped young adult and I am super careful with him. I help take care of him, waking him up in the mornings and watching over him while he’s in the bath. I know not to jump on him, even when I’m excited. Favorite Toys: I love to play with anything! I really love tug. Anything can become a tug toy. Watch your fingers. Sometimes I cheat. A ball to toss gently inside and a cloth frisbee for outside are wonderful! I like squeaker toys but I do remove the squeakers pretty quickly. Soft fluffy toys are great. They don’t last long though. I love them even after the fluff and squeakers come out. Ideal Forever Home: A 6 foot privacy fence is a must! I don’t dig to get under it but I’m a great jumper! I’d like some indoor space to play. I really need a good sized yard. Someone who will play with me, sit with me, work with me on getting better with walks would be perfect. Loud noises can make me nervous. I love when the house is quiet and I can really relax. Patience with me while I learn your routines please. Once I know the routine, I’ll be calmer. I am eager to please and try to anticipate what I should do next. I’d love a dog around my size and age to play with. I would also be fine as your only dog. I love attention and being close. I’d like to sleep at the foot of your bed and sit on the couch with you too. I’ve become quite fond of the couch. If you’re looking for a smart, sweet, playful best friend, I’m your guy!

Story
A best friend like no other! I am a sweet, contemplative boy! From hiking to staying cozy inside, I’m in, as long as you’re with me. I love to work, be challenged and do tricks, snacks are my favorite part of the day (especially dog-safe peanut butter)! I’m a great listener and love to learn words and make you laugh. I’m an independent boy, but welcome morning cuddles and pets. Tug of war is my favorite game, see if you can beat me! I need a family that is active and goes on adventures. I'd do best in a home with no children, and no cats. General Socialization Notes: I am a bit uncomfortable being approached by new people on leash, in the car, in home, etc. Warming up to new people ( especially men) can be a challenge for me. I need to go at my own pace to feel comfortable. Does Finn like other animals? I like some other dogs, but not cats. But I may do best as an only dog. Does Finn like children? I would prefer a home with no children. Favorite Toys: I love chew bones (big chewer!) (must be very durable.) I also enjoy tug of war toys. Ideal Forever Home: I'd love someone active who goes to new places. I love to explore! I would need someone that has experience with dogs and will respect my space and give me time. A home with no cats and no children would be best. I'd probably prefer no other dogs.

Story
I adopted Tucker from the Humane Society when he was about 2 months old. He will be 7 years old on June 14th. He loves walks, hikes, and fetching balls. He’s been around babies and young kids as well as other animals. He is a little protective over his owner when other dogs come close to a short time until he warms up. He is sweet and loves to fetch not only balls but toys. Due to a relocation and loss of a job, we are deeply saddened to have to rehome Tucker to another loving home.

Story
Knox is a fun-loving young dog with a zest for life and a smile that`s sure to brighten your day. He enjoys exploring the world on walks, taking in all the sights and smells, and never passes up an opportunity to chase a ball-although bringing it back is still a work in progress! Knox`s happy go lucky personality and enthusiastic spirit make him a joy to be around. Knox is indifferent to other dogs, and would do best in a home where canine companions respect his space. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2750096##
