Story
Meet Peyton, a sweet male Border Collie who adores affection from familiar humans. Despite his lack of confidence, Peyton will crawl over to spend time with a loving human, eagerly accepting treats from their hands and offering kisses in return. His shy little wag and curious nature shine through, and bravely, he makes great eye contact. Peyton prefers to observe the world from the back of his kennel, but will eagerly come forward for treats or to say hello. He enjoys laying down and rolling to the side for scratches, displaying his trust in those he feels comfortable with. Peyton is still learning to trust that humans are kind and gentle, but he undoubtedly deserves a loving home and a cozy couch life. He will need a patient adopter who will allow him to gain trust at his own pace. Peyton is empowered by the presence of other confident dogs, and does best with female dogs. He is still learning to walk on leash, and does best when walking with another dog. Because of this, he will need to go to a home with a fenced yard until he is more proficient at leash walking. Having a confident canine companion will allow Peyton to gain more confidence and explore all the world has to offer, though it is not required. Peyton eagerly awaits his chance for adoption at the National Mill Dog Rescue.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Daisy is such a sweet and loyal girl! I recently had to move into an apartment from an house with an huge backyard and Daisy is not adjusting well to apartment life. I am older, and she is very energetic and loves to run and I am struggling to do that and keep up with her. She will be 1 years old in May, so she is still on the puppy side but is very smart. She usually is good with going with being house trained with a few accidents here and there. We would love to find a home that has a backyard for her to run in. She is good with animals that she knows-introducing she gets really scared. So another dog who is calm would be good. Daisy is great with cats! Loves to play with them. Overall, she is super sweet and funny! She is very loyal and loves to stay by your side and super funny.

Story
0424071 - Introducing Clara- Your newest Furry Family! Clara is about 2.5 months old, and we are guessing a boarder collie mix, possibly a borderdoodle.  She is ready to warm her way into your heart and home! With boundless energy yet and incredibly chill demeanor, Clara strikes the perfect balance for any household.  Named for her charming personality, Clara is not just a dog; she is a devoted snuggle companion, always ready to curl up in your lap for a cozy cuddle session. Worried about allergies? Fear not! neither of Clara's human foster siblings who have historically had allergic reactions to dogs have shown any reaction to her presence. When it's time for downtime, Clara knows how to kick back and relax often snoozing upside down on your lap while you catch up on your favorite TV shows. Don't let her demeanor fool you though- she's also a spirited playmate, especially with her brother Coby.  Currently mastering that art of leash walking and potty training, Clara is eager to learn and to please. Treats are her weakness and front cradled in loving arms is heaven for her. Whether it's snuggling up or bounding around with kids, Clara is a natural with little ones and gets along seamlessly with other canine companions. Ready to welcome Clara into your home? Story
0424074 - Come meet Charles!  He is an 11 week old border collie mix and is so adorable with his little floppy ears . He is smaller then the rest of his sibling so we think he will likely only be around 25-35lbs full grown.  He loves attention and will sit on your feet while you work.  He enjoys playing with his siblings and the other dogs in his foster home but curling you next you is his favorite pass time. To adopt Charles please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoprions! ##2042549##
