We take the dogs that are adopted down...so if a dog is on the website they are available. Obedience training and fully fenced in yard is required for all our pups. Completion certificate for training needs to be emailed once complete. When applying pictures/videos of your fully enclosed yard is needed. I've been living it up at my foster mom's place, making tons of doggy friends and loving every minute of it. I'm so close to being potty trained—just a whisker away! I'm a whirlwind of fun followed by epic nap sessions, then it's back to playtime again. No worries about me being a troublemaker—I’m not into chewing stuff up, and I’ve been on my best behavior. This lovely girl is named Sue.. She was owner surrendered to Okeechobee shelter due to her people moving. She is 6 yrs young. Knows the command sit, will be getting her vax. Is not spayed but is heartworm negative. Plus!!!! She is great with other dogs, great with people. Cats are like not there lol.. She is going to need to get out of the shelter before it erodes her border collie mind. Not real high drive or crazy with herding abilities. We are in need of a border savvy foster to help her out or even an adopter.. Anyone that can help her ?? TIME SENSITIVE and all the shelters in Florida are cracking down on timed stays now due to overcrowding, and the incredible number of OWNER SURRENDERS. 🐾 **Meet Shanna** 🐾 I'm seeking a loving forever home for my sweet border collie mix. She is a low-energy cuddle bug with a heart of gold. Due to my recent hardships, financial and medical, I haven't been able to provide her with the attention and care she deserves. 🌟 **About Shanna** 🌟 - Breed: Border Collie Mix - Age: 7 - Energy Level: Low but still needs long walks - Special Needs: Allergies (requires daily medication), or monthly shot. - Ideal Home: A loving family with time, patience, and resources to care for her. -Dogs: Okay with proper introduction, but reactive to dogs on walks (this is what needs the most work) -Cats: Doesn’t seem to care one way or another. -Kids: Loves all people, including little ones. Take care around walks or situations that may trigger the reactivity. Shanna loves to cuddle, she lets you treat her like she’s a doll and loves being pampered. Cheese is her favorite! Forget the pill pockets, she will eat anything with cheese involved! I feel she would be happiest in a household with more than one person. She loves attention from people even though she’s shy at first, I think she misses being around a full family. I love this girl to death, and never thought I would find myself in a position to need to rehome a pet, and have wrestled with this decision for months. I think it’s best for her to find a situation that’s better for her, please consider making a huge difference in this special girls life! Everyone who knows her just adores her. 🏡 **Ideal Home Requirements** 🏡 - Fenced yard for her to play safely - Willingness to continue her training - Financial capacity to cover her allergy medication -Experience with reactive leash training, and knows how to care for allergies. UPDATE Shanna is still with her owner but needs to be rehomed. She is a wonderful dog but will need someone with the above qualities to help manage her allergies. Once they are under control they are easy to manage. Her owner has not had the money to do so. She will be seeing our vet to get a cytopoint shot. Shanna has been evaluated by a certified trainer. She will be easy to handle and right now her reactivity is due to minimal exercise due to her handlers situation. She is really not hard to live with , and the trainer has offered her services if she goes to someone in the Tampa area. She does get along with other dogs. We are seeking a foster that can take her as her owner is willing to relinquish her to rescue, we just have no one to take her since we are foster based. Shanna is the sweetest girl you will ever meet! She is low energy and will sleep all day. Loves going on walks and is great with other pets after proper introductions. Shanna is 7 years old and is a border collie mix, I’m not sure what she’s mixed with but I’m sure a DNA test would be very interesting. Her favorite treat is cheese! She has skin allergies and after I’ve lost my home/job and moved into a tiny apartment they have been getting worse. I haven’t been able to keep up with the allergy shots that she needs or afford the food that is better for her. When the environment is right, her skin condition IS manageable. It’s no longer fair to her to be with me and am hoping she can find a home where she can get what she needs.

Eli is a 6.5 year old Aussie who his people made the hard decision to surrender after he began nipping their toddler. They worked with trainers and don’t believe the behavior was intended to harm their child, but herding instead. Despite their best efforts, nothing was able to change his behavior. They reached out to us over a month ago and drove all the way from Georgia to find a rescue they believed would do right by him and keep him in a low-stress environment. We haven’t known Eli long but from what we have seen and have been told about him, he’s a super sweet and loving boy and should have no trouble finding a new forever home! As long as there are no small children, he’s the perfect dog! He’s crate trained, house trained, and has basic obedience. He’s very food motivated but due to his weight we recommend keeping extra snacks to a minimum. He’s friendly to all humans and good with smaller dogs. He’s good with bigger dogs too after a proper introduction, but he’s a bit fearful of them at first. Cats and other small animals a no-no though. He does need to lose some weight, but aside from that Eli is totally healthy and ready to be adopted! He’s microchipped, neutered, UTD on his vaccines, prevention, heartworm tested negative, and has a negative fecal test.
