Story
Meet Molly, a 1-year-old Border Collie mix weighing 40 pounds. This friendly, outgoing girl is smart, affectionate, and always ready for her next adventure. She loves being close to her people, whether she's cuddling on the couch, resting her head in your lap, or curling up beside you at the end of the day. Molly is a high-energy, athletic dog who thrives on both physical exercise and mental stimulation. She absolutely loves toys and playing fetch and would make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys hiking, training, or other outdoor activities. Because of her energy level, her foster recommends a securely fenced yard, though it isn't required. She has done well with other dogs and cats in her foster home. While she has shown some resource guarding around high-value items with another dog, feeding separately is an easy way to help manage this. Molly hasn't been around children yet, but because she's still learning polite greetings and can get excited, we think she'd do best with older, respectful kids. Molly is crate trained and has been doing well with house training on a consistent schedule. She's eager to learn, incredibly intelligent, and would benefit from continued work on basic manners and impulse control. She is heartworm positive and has begun treatment. Wish Bone will continue to provide that treatment through our vet or by providing medication to the adopter's vet. If you're looking for a loyal, playful companion who will happily join you on every adventure and then snuggle up beside you afterward, Molly may be your perfect match. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Shunka is a 2 year old shepard/collie mix. He's very sweet and always ready for a car ride or to play catch. We unfortunately have to re-home him due to his herding instincts; he will not stop herding our oldest dog and it's leading to fights now (he gets along well with our other dog). My daughter moved back home with a cat recently and he won't let the cat come upstairs. He needs a home that doesn't have other pets. He does okay with kids and strangers but has to be watched around very small children because he does jump up when he's excited. He is an excellent guard dog, he only barks if someone is outside of the house (or if you're keeping a toy/ball from him).He is potty trained, he will let you know when he needs to go outside by pawing at you and whining. He really is just the sweetest baby that needs a more experienced owner or a home without other cats or dogs.
