Story
All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Daisy is a 5-year-old Shepherd mix with a joyful spirit and a heart full of love. Energetic and playful, she’s always ready for fun—especially if it involves a game of fetch! Toss her a ball and watch her light up with excitement. Don’t let her playful side fool you—Daisy is also a total lap dog who absolutely adores attention. She’s loving, gentle, and happiest when she’s close to her people, soaking up pets and giving affection right back. Daisy is friendly and social, and with a slow, proper introduction, she does well with cats, kids, and other dogs. Giving her a little time to adjust helps her build confidence and ensures everyone starts off on the right paw. She’s potty trained and already knows sit, come, down, and shake—what a smart girl! Even better, Daisy is eager to keep learning and would love to master new tricks for a tasty treat reward. She’s motivated, attentive, and ready to impress her future family. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate best friend who will play hard, love harder, and grow right alongside you, Daisy is ready to meet you!

Name: Kodak Age: 8 years Breed: Australian Shepherd Size: 35.2 lbs Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Kodak is an 8-year-old Australian Shepherd who proves that age is just a number. Friendly, social, and full of life, he still carries that classic Aussie spark—playful, energetic, and always ready to be part of whatever his people are doing. Kodak enjoys outdoor adventures, exploring new places, and would fit beautifully in an active home that still appreciates relaxing together at the end of the day. He’s a well-mannered companion who already knows the ropes of home life. Kodak is house-trained, crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and knows his basic commands. He’s comfortable in busy environments, does well with vet visits, and gets along great with other dogs and pets. Loyal and affectionate, he loves being around people and is just as happy socializing as he is cuddling up for some quiet company. Kodak is healthy, adaptable, and eager to stay engaged with his family. His intelligence and enthusiasm could even make him a fun candidate for agility or other activities that keep his mind busy.
