Story
Hi. I am Oso. I can be a little timid when meeting new people, but I am quick to warm up. I am learning to walk with a leash and with time I will be a well-trained boy. I came from a home that spoke Spanish regularly, but I am learning commands in English also. I am a lovable boy who can't wait to find his people. If you're interested in me, please submit an application at safehavenforpets.org. Thank you! If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 815-858-2265 or email us at safehaven1471@gmail.com. Dog adoption donations are $200 which includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, Heartworm test, Lyme test, Bordetella, flea & tick preventative, heartworm prevention, deworming, and microchip. Story
Cassie is a 25 pound Australian Cattle Dog with lots of love. She’s affectionate, playful, smart, and full of energy. One of her absolute favorite things is chasing Frisbees — she’ll run after them and leap into the air to make the catch. Cassie loves attention and is always excited to see her people. She’ll greet you at the door with her favorite toy and a wagging tail. She also enjoys playing with larger dogs and would thrive with an active person or family who can give her regular opportunities to run, play, and be outside. She is crate trained, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. Cassie does have a history of seizures, which are currently well controlled with daily medication. She takes her medicine easily and without any fuss. We want her new family to be comfortable continuing her medication and veterinary care. We are looking for a genuinely great long-term home for Cassie — ideally someone who appreciates an active, energetic dog and will make her part of the family.

Story
Bandit is a 5 year old mix. He is neutered, house trained, good listener of commands, shots are all up to date, as well as flea, tick and heartworm meds. He loves fruit/vegetable treats, chewing on bones, not the vacuum though. He's active & very affectionate. He would do best with a fenced in yard and if not would need to be on a leash or chained up when outside as he is a free spirit. Once our other male dog matured, Bandit has gotten territorial & started getting aggressive towards him and any other male dogs or dogs that are in his space. He has been ok with our female and our cat, but due to aggression towards the male, we have to separate them. We love Bandit & wish we didn't have to rehouse him, but we cannot leave them alone anymore & risk injury to the other dog. He is good with people & would be great in a house with no other dogs.
