Story
Hello! My name is Remi. I am a one and half year old female Border Collie/Poodle mix. My original family was unable to care for me, so I was taken in by my littermates mom. Unfortunately, there’s a little too much sibling rivalry between me and my sister so things haven’t worked out quite like we’d hoped. Here are a few things I would like you to know about me: - I am loving, happy, playful, and full of energy! Ideally my new home would have a big backyard for me to play in. If not, a human that loves to go for walks everyday would be great too! - I love the doggos that live with our friends and family, but I need to be the only canine queen living in my castle. - I am VERY food motivated so learning new tricks is easy for me! - I live with two cats. They aren’t really Dog People, but I sure wish they were! - I live with two older kids and I love them to pieces! There’s so much more I could tell you about, but I’m out of room here! Mom is more than happy to chat, just reach out!

Story
Meet Lincoln....... Lincoln is an adorable young boy, thought to be a Border Collie Mix. Like Border Collies, he’s very smart, a quick learner, very alert and quite energetic!! At age 9 months, he weighs 38 lbs. It is most important to note that we cannot be 100% sure of his adult weight, but our best guess is about 40ish lbs. This handsome boy joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. He is thought to have been born around December 23, 2022. He was a scared little puppy when entering our rescue program but has come out of his shell and has evolved into a playful, sociable, and somewhat mischievous boy. Lincoln is great with dogs outside of his foster home, but can be protective of his home and human, indoors. Most likely Lincoln would prefer being an only dog, receiving all the attention he deserves. However he could to ok with a calm easy-going female. He would probably be far too energetic for a senior (dog or human!) An ideal family for Lincoln is one able to assimilate the energy of a young boy into its lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Lincoln to be his best self! A secure, above-ground fenced yard is important. Lincoln would not thrive as an apartment dweller. Lincoln is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative. He is neutered and microchipped as well. . For information about adding this adorable boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the far NW suburbs of Chicago and adopts local to this area.

Story
Courtesy Post: Bear is a beautiful boy! He is currently living in a foster home with other dogs and older kids. Bear is walking well with a harness, housebroken, jumps in the car and is calm and well behaved in the house. He was initially insecure with new things and being left alone but in only one week he has shown significant improvement! He needs a slower introduction to strangers but bonds strongly to his immediate family. Bear is food motivated which will help with meeting new people and training. He loves retrieving balls and will drop them so you can throw them again! He will go in the crate but barked and cried at night, so after 2 days we put his bed in our room and he sleeps soundly! Bear is playful with other dogs, does well with calmer children, cats unknown. With regular walks and playtime, continued socialization and exposure to new things- Bear will continue to gain more confidence in new situations and with people! Could Bear be the dog you have been looking for? To schedule a meeting, Please submit an ADOPTION APPLICATION at therescuevets.com For additional questions, please email adoptions@therescuevets.com

Story
Marty is fostered in Grayslake, Illinois.   Please meet this handsome devil, Marty.  He LOOOOVVES sticks!  He is a 1.5 year old red bi border collie male, weighing about 40 lbs.  He came to Midwest Australian Shepherd Rescue because his owner moved into a small apartment and quickly realized he needed much more.   Marty wasn't given much training in his past home.  He's been learning a lot of new things in his foster home and he is a quick learner, eager to pelase, good boy!  He loves his leash and he loves going on walks.  He is quickly picking up house manners and commands at a rapid pace.  He LOVES snuggling and promises not to be in your personal space, but because he is a very sweet, very smart, happy-go-lucky boy! Marty iwould defnitely benefit from an adopter who wants to complete some basic obedience training with him, which is a GREAT bonding tool with a newly adopted pup.  Marty does great with rewards and praise-based training.  He does have great focus for training.  Marty would do best in a physically fenced yard that has PLENTY of sticks!  Marty is crate trained and house trained. Marty will require a committed adopter who is willing to continue his training and also provide adequate mental and physical stimulation, which any young border collie would need. Marty is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.  He is receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworms for any current and previous pets is required to adopt from our rescue.  For more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees, and a link to our adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.   ##1823687##
