You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear is a very handsome blue heeler, looking for an experienced dog owner to have a GREAT life with! Bear is super smart, and he loves to play with other dogs around his size. He requires a home with a playful and submissive canine companion near his size, he especially responds well to female dogs.  Bear is kennel trained as well as potty trained.  He loves to go for long walks and explore, he will make a superb companion for a very lucky owner! Bear does have stranger danger/reactive fears, he came to Last Hope very untrusting of people.  He has done great working with a firm and consistent handler, and will require this is his forever home but will likely always be initially reactive to strangers. Our volunteers have worked with him and found him to be a very friendly and affectionate dog, although he still requires slow and controlled introductions with strangers and will need an owner that appreciates his breed and unique needs. He does seem to settle faster with women.  No children, no cats and preferably a homeowner with a physical fenced in yard.  Bear's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, current vaccinations, and microchip.  Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, current on preventatives and vaccinations, and be altered.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 12, 2025, 12:43 pm

Story
Zipp is a 2-year-old, 45 pound, Australian Cattle Dog. She came to us from the Bethany, Missouri Pound, where she had unfortunately landed twice in the last year. The first time was back in April, when her owner reclaimed her, updated her vaccines, and provided proof to the city. In early September, she was picked up running at large again. This time, her owner denied she was his dog. That’s when Zipp’s new chapter began. She moved into one of our foster homes in Bethany nd did great there with five other dogs. Last week she made her way to Iowa, where she’s been showing us what a truly wonderful dog she is. Zipp plays well with both male and female dogs and absolutely loves people. She’s got great doggy manners. If another dog isn’t interested in playing, she reads the room and simply moves on. She rides beautifully in the car, enjoys going for walks, and loves to fetch. Zipp pays attention to her people and knows her name well. If you call her or whistle she comes right to you. Zipp is house trained, kennel trained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped. She does require a physically fenced yard so she can safely run and play. If you’re looking for a sweet, social, and loyal companion, Zipp is your girl. If you would like to meet Zipp, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Zipp you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Indoor homes only.  Adoption fee $300.

Story
Meet Roux, a 9-month-old, 22-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix who decided the golf course in Independence, Iowa was her personal playground. She spent several days perfecting her zoomies on the fairway before the owner finally called Brett from the Corgi Rehab Sanctuary. Brett showed up expecting a Corgi… but surprise! Roux is definitely not a Corgi — so she joined us instead. Roux is a happy, playful girl who loves toys, fetch, and a good game of tug-of-war. When playtime is over, she’ll happily curl up in your lap for a nap (because being this cute is exhausting). She’s house and kennel trained, food motivated and learning her basic commands like a pro. Roux will need a physically fenced yard to safely practice her championship-level zoomies. One more thing — no cats, please. Roux thinks they’re part of the game, and the cats strongly disagree. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, smart, snuggly teammate, Roux is ready to trade the golf course for your backyard! Roux is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you would like to meet Roux, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Roux you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Indoor homes only.  Adoption fee $300.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Marsh & Coral are not currently up for adoption at our shelter - instead we are helping their owner, Dawn, by listing them as Courtesy Listings in hopes we can help find someone that will welcome this duo in to their home! Please read their bio below as further details have been provided by their current owner.  Dawn's contact info is down below for anyone potentially interested.... "Marsh and Corals story begins on Nov 25, 2025 on a gravel road on a cold Nov day .. Outside of Conesville, IA , down from our farm .. by the Marsh area .. That’s how this 1 year old beautiful Red Heeler Mix got his name Marsh and his side kick  .. Who we named Coral after a Coral fossil that was found in our area .. Coral is also 1 year old and is a Tan Heeler mix .. she’s all legs and full of energy and love  .. Marsh loves to give hugs and snuggles and loves to herd Coral when he gets the chance .. he’s very protective over Coral but loves to steal her food … Marsh is a sweet heart and loves attention and doesn't mind pushing Coral away from me to get the attention first .. Marsh has a 1/3 blue right eye that’s very beautiful even though he likes to be above Coral the boss, he’s very, very much protected and loves her very much.. Marsh and Coral are both housebroken. Marsh and Coral both just had their shots and spay/neuter surgeries on Dec 23 ,2025 .. and are still healing but both doing great .. we have both dogs in our home and both dogs have not had an issue with going in the home.. And they both love children and listen really well and do well on a leash … I’m not sure if they are siblings but with both heeler mix and both a year old confirmed by the vet that did their surgeries I think there’s a possibility, they could be siblings .. Even though we found them on Nov 25 we were not able to get them to the farm until Nov 28 due to them being scared and wanting to stay in that location .. a few times we couldn’t find them .. we searched for them on the four wheeler, hoping to find them before the snowstorm came in with no luck .. the night  before the snow storm hit I came back into the same location again by this time they were ready to follow us at the three days on their own in the cold .. I got out of my vehicle when I walked with the dogs up the hill and the barking in the cold as my husband drove ahead of us slowly because we could not convince Marsh  to get in the vehicle ..where Coral wanted in the truck .. he’s a thinker and she just does it .. both dogs were hungry and underweight .. Coral being the worst shape .. Marsh had a collar strapped around his chest and leg .. We love both of these beautiful dogs. And it’s been a pleasure having them with us on the farm and watching them thrive …as much a we love them ..we cant keep them, due to our own 2 dogs ..  now hoping that they will get a forever home. They both have been through a lot together. We are hoping for a Christmas miracle for these two beautiful babies." Story
Meet Jade, a 7-month-old female Red Heeler/Shepherd mix who is as beautiful as she is sweet. From her striking red coat and spotted chest to her perfectly symmetrical face, Jade is a true stunner inside and out. She and her siblings were found abandoned in Texas and brought north for a second chance at the life she deserves—and she’s ready to make the most of it. Jade is a gentle, thoughtful pup. While she’s not as shy as her sister Jacey, she can be a bit timid around new people and unfamiliar dogs at first, which is completely understandable given her start in life. Give her a little time to observe and get comfortable, and she blossoms quickly into a loving, affectionate companion. She’s shown interest in playing with other dogs and prefers to sit back and watch before jumping in, as she’s still learning proper play etiquette. She’s also just beginning to figure out toys. While not required, a home with a confident, friendly dog would be ideal to help show her the ropes. This girl absolutely adores people and soaks up affection whenever it’s offered. Jade is a total velcro dog—happy to nap in your lap or curl up as close to you as possible for cuddles. She does well with other dogs, cats, and kids, and she’s already potty-trained and crate-trained. Jade would thrive in a loving home willing to offer a little patience and guidance as she continues to build confidence. With the right support, she’s sure to blossom into the happy, playful, and devoted companion she’s meant to be—ready to finally enjoy all the wonderful things life as a dog has to offer.

Story
Luna is a loyal, affectionate 5 year old dog who forms strong bonds with her people. She loves calm companionship, relaxing at home, and being close to her humans once she feels safe and settled. Luna does best in a quiet, structured home and needs to be the only pet. She is house-trained and thrives on routine. She would be a great fit for an experienced dog owner who understands sensitive dogs and can provide consistency and clear boundaries. During storms or loud noises, Luna experiences anxiety and does best with a calm environment and supportive management, such as a safe space and prescribed medication when needed. With the right setup, she is able to settle and rest. We are committed to finding Luna a peaceful, single-pet home where she can feel secure, understood, and deeply loved.
