Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Duke! I am a charming, happy, Cattle Dog mix.  I love to go for walks  or runs  (and I am really good at it!). I also love car rides, stuffed animals, and playing in a fenced-in backyard. I am completely house trained,  crate trained ,  and am very intelligent. I know what sit, lay down , and stay mean, but I could use some more training to work on those commands and anything else you want to teach me.  I love to run and play; I have a whole lot of energy, but I also love to cuddle, give kisses and be loved by my human companion .  Basically, I just like to be doing what my people are.   I am very cautious of new people. I really prefer to come check you out first, and I really rather you don’t pet me until I know you will treat me with kindness.  I may  have to meet you a couple times before  I know I can trust you .   I can’t tell my friends at Last Hope what happened to me before I came to stay with them, but all they know is that it takes me a while to trust people and be comfortable in situations.  Because of this, I should not be in a home with young kids or teens.  My dream home would be with an adult family who is familiar with my kind of challenges and who has a physically fenced in yard. I also want 1 other playful dog around my size (50 pounds+) or bigger  to play with (I can play a little rough so they need to be tough like me) and a family who is very patient with me while I adjust to new people in my life.  I am a very loyal companion and I just want to please my humans!   Once I know I can trust you, I just want to be around you and will be your shadow as you go through your day.  I have also had my DNA tested! I am officially an Australian Cattle Dog/Harrier mix!    Last Hope requires that all pets be kept as indoor pets, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes reference and vet checks and a home visit. The adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 20, 2023, 7:44 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear is a very handsome blue heeler, looking for an experienced dog owner to have a GREAT life with! Bear is super smart, and he loves to play with other dogs around his size. He requires a home with a playful and submissive canine companion near his size, he especially responds well to female dogs.  Bear is kennel trained as well as potty trained.  He loves to go for long walks and explore, he will make a superb companion for a very lucky owner! Bear does have stranger danger/reactive fears, he came to Last Hope very untrusting of people.  He has done great working with a firm and consistent handler, and will require this is his forever home but will likely always be initially reactive to strangers. Our volunteers have worked with him and found him to be a very friendly and affectionate dog, although he still requires slow and controlled introductions with strangers and will need an owner that appreciates his breed and unique needs.  No children, no cats and preferably a homeowner with a physical fenced in yard.  Bear's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, current vaccinations, and microchip.  last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, current on preventatives and vaccinations, and be altered.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 20, 2023, 7:44 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Oscar is a nearly 2 year old dog came to Last Hope shy and timid, but he has really flourished and loves being with his people.  He is always giving you hugs and kisses.  He loves playing with other dogs but has not been around any cats.  Oscar always wants to be by your side, whether in your bed, on the couch, or lying in the same room.  He is very playful (ball and rope) but is still getting used to quick movements and loud noises.  He is getting used to car rides and will jump in the car on his own.  Once he is in the car, he is a little anxious, but that will pass.  He loves Scooter's pup cups. Oscar is on dry dog food and is not food-driven.  You can put a bowl of food down, and he may not eat it right away.  Same with treats; he may eat them right away or hide them for a later snack. Oscar will go in an open kennel, but we have had good success leaving him out while we are gone for a few hours at a time. When meeting Oscar, he may seem shy at first but will warm up to you quickly. He is trained to use an underground containment system for the yard.  He is currently learning to go on walks (leash training). He loves to be outside and loves his baby pool. Oscar is very smart and will pick up anything you try to teach him very easily.  Once you meet Oscar, he will capture your heart. Oscar's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations, preventatives and heartworm testing.  Oscar is seeking an indoor only home.  If you are interested in meeting Oscar, please submit an adoption application for consideration through our website (adopthope.org).  Last Hope does require that adopters with a history of owning companion animals show that they have kept them as indoor pets only, altered and kept current on annual vaccinations and preventatives.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 20, 2023, 7:44 pm

Story
Freja is a very sweet dog who is looking for a new home with no chickens! She has been a overall good outdoor/indoor dog and walks well on a leash, but she does not always do well with small farm animals. She is potty trained, friendly, and very energetic. She loves to cuddle and get pets, but we have not seen a huge interest in toys yet in our environment. If you're looking for an outdoor or indoor/outdoor dog, then Freja could be the perfect fit for you!! Ask about her today.
