**MEET ME AT OUR 7/28 ADOPTION EVENT IN WAKEFIELD**Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: YesGood with kids: Yes, dog-savvy childrenCrate trained: Yes House Trained: Working on it Hi, I’m Ferdinand McBroom. If you want to tell me how adorable I am, I'm all ears.Life started out a bit rough for me and my brother, Socks, left abandoned on the streets to fend for ourselves when we were just tiny pups. But hey, that's all in the past now – I might come off as super shy at first, but trust me, there's a whole lot of heart and brains in this Border Collie/ lab mix package. I just need a bit of time to feel safe and secure.I think I'd do best in a family that's patient and understanding, especially with my initial bashfulness. Kids are great, as long as they're old enough to know how to approach a shy guy like me. Oh, and it would be totally awesome if my brother could come too. I get along with everyone, and it's nice to have a buddy to hang out with, but certainly not necessary. I’m totally capable of entertaining myself. All the pups in my foster home can vouch for my charming personality and unwavering loyalty. Cats are cool, too. I love a good challenge and am grateful I got the smarts because I will need all the training – potty, leash, basic manners– just like any typical puppy. I am progressing quickly with all the above but will need a consistent routine and encouragement and treats. PLEASE don’t forget the treats!! I am familiar with the crate and am happy to spend time there for day naps and through the night. I have overheard my fosters say I am a possible “flight risk” because I am so timid and new surroundings are a bit scary at first, but I promise once I warm up, I will never leave your side. So, if you're up for a pup who's sweet, smart, and all heart, look no further. Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application.July 26, 2024, 1:55 am

Story
This is Hazel and she is an energetic and sweet puppy. Our other dog is not doing well with her which is why we're looking to rehome her =(. She can sit and usually comes when called but still needs professional training (usually around 6 months). She's a border collie/golden doodle mix, but she is more "border collie" in the sense that she has more energy. Her breed is known for being very smart with the right training. She's very sweet and our kids love her- it's just an unfortunate situation. Looking to place her in a home with a person/family that can give her the love and yard she needs. She's programmed to herd so, a farm-type situation would be good. Also if you have other pets, it's important to know that she does have the instinct to herd.

Good with dogs,
Story
. . .          who is ready for an active home for a lifetime of adventuring. She traveled from LA to MA and continues to learn how to dog. She LOVES kids, other dogs, and will be ok with a dog-savvy cat. She makes friends wherever she goes and is developing her very own fan club. She will LOVE a fenced yard and an active home as she is the PERFECT adventure partner or sidekick. She is a working dog lover's dream.  Rescue story––She came in a stray to a high volume kill shelter and she is one lucky pup! We tagged her after seeing her sweet disposition and spent some time in a Louisiana foster home readying to travel north. Her southern foster mom says––"June Bug is working on the basics like sit and down. She is an older puppy and because she is learning manners, is best with older kids and will likely LOVE a resident dog that likes to play too." JUNE BUG IS PART OF OUR NEW "SHELTER DOG SUCCESS PROGRAM"! Her adoption comes with training! 50% of the adoption fee is transferred to a  dedicated trainer who zooms with you 1st (to prep you for her pick-up), followed by two additional zooms, as needed, with text support in-between!  Each zoom is an hour long and at the end of your program, your trainer will make a recommendation on best next steps for your training plan. It's important to us that our adult dogs have this second chance and this new program sets them and your household up for success too!  Preference is given to adopters willing to pre-adopt (commit to) a puppy or dog before arrival. Pups not adopted are available to meet in their MA foster homes after your application is approved. Should this pup receive an adoption commitment prior to your application being processed, we will share with you the other arriving pups that may be a match for you, some of which are not yet posted online. THIS PUP IS STILL AVAILABLE IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS LISTING––we pull listings down after receiving 2 - 3 viable applications to minimize adopter disappointment. Please do not email, simply submit an application link here www.rescueinc.dog/adopt and we do respond to every application within 48 hours.  Read through our adoption process and other adoption FAQs here www.rescueinc.dog/FAQs All of our pups come with the following:  Spayed or Neutered Age appropriate vaccinations + dewormed + 4DX test (if older than 6 months) Dosed with flea/tick + heartworm preventatives New martingale collar with 6' lead + temp ID tag 30 days free insurance to be activated within 24 hours of your wellness visit with your veterinarian Microchip with free registration Sample of food your pup has been eating  Ages listed can be approximate and breed mixes are a best guess based on physical characteristics.   Approved Massachusetts Rescue #0048 // Registered 501c3 EIN #84-3954548  ##1849431##
