You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in adopting, read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application on the Mo-Kan website.  A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.(Sending an "Inquiry" via Petfinder does not constitute an application.)   Copper is a 5 year old, high energy 48 pound purebred border collie who recently lost the loving home he had since puppyhood. This gorgeous blue merle boy came into rescue and hasn’t looked back. His sweet sister, Charlie, is in a separate Mo-Kan foster home. Copper loves people of all ages, especially children. He is not good with cats. Copper was used to being an outdoor dog and is learning that there are different rules indoors. He is very puppylike: perpetually happy, curious, and runs everywhere instead of walking. Copper responds best to gentle touch and calmly delivered commands. He is a blank slate, and eager to please! He is crate trained and runs in preemptively to get a treat, which he takes treats very gently. “Copper, come!” appears to be his favorite command. He thinks he is a lap dog and is learning to sit for affection instead of jumping up for it. Copper walks moderately well on a leash and is learning to stay to one side of his person. He enjoys outings to our local dog park for the people who pet him as much as the dogs he runs with. He is very skilled at reading and reacting appropriately to new dog friends and takes their feedback well. Copper would do best in a home with a consistent routine. Having been an outdoor dog after his first year of life, he is re-learning potty training. He is crated during the workday with a mid-day dogsitter break while his foster is at work and keeps his kennel clean. He loves being outside, running in a yard and wrestling with his 55 pound housemate, so a fenced yard and a dog companion are preferred. Copper is not good with cats and is hyper focused on chickens. A home without cats or caged small pets is a must. If he sounds like a great addition to your family, complete an adoption application on the Mo-Kan website. Copper is being fostered in the Kansas City area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 4, 2026, 9:58 am

He is a beautiful 4 yr old smooth coat, black and white Border Collie, about 50 lbs. After living with a family since a puppy, life changes brought him into Rescue. Sasuke absolutely adores his humans and wants to be wherever they are. He is a curious, sweet boy that loves meeting and interacting with people. He  has lived with small children in his previous home. Foster Dad had holiday parties, Sasuke was one of the official greeters. He eagerly hops in the car and travels well, up for any adventure. Sasuke loves all toys, squeaky stuffie, Gameboy, is the current favorite. He enjoys playing ball or frisbee in the yard, or picking up the largest stick for you to throw again and again. Sasuke really loves his foster brother and sister, playing endless chase games in the yard, and seriously on “watch patrol” trio if needed in the house. He likes all dogs that he has met, very social. He lived with a cat in his previous home. Sasuke I has a lot of energy and would enjoy an active person or loving family. He loves walks, may be a good running companion, hiking, camping, just being active with his people. He knows “sit, down, give, shake”, and has excellent recall. Sasuke does have a good “off” switch after daily play or adventure. He will happily join you on the couch, or bed for a cuddle, and snuggle, or curled up as a foot warmer. Does Sasuke sound like the perfect addition to your family? Complete an application to adopt, meet Sasuke @ MoKanBCRescue.org He is up to date on all vaccines, on Heartworm, flea and tick prevention, and neutered. He is crate trained and house broken.  Sasuke is being fostered in the Kansas City area.Click here to watch a video of Sasuke.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 12, 2026, 2:26 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Courtesy PostCourtesy Post.  See contact info at the end of bio. This is Sadee — a beautiful 3/4 Border Collie, 1/4 Heeler mix who will turn 4 this November. She's a larger Border Collie with a big heart and endless energy. Sadee is: -Spayed & up-to-date on all vaccinations -House-trained and well-behaved when home alone -Extremely loyal, affectionate, and loves to be with her people -A frisbee fanatic — playing fetch is her absolute favorite thing -Gives lots of kisses She thrives in a home where she gets plenty of attention, mental stimulation, and physical activity. She's not a dog who wants to be left in the backyard — she wants to be your sidekick, your adventure buddy, your couch companion after a good play session. Important Notes: Sadee does not do well with young children. She has shown some aggression toward our daughter, and with the idea of growing our family, we can’t give her the close supervision and energy outlet she needs. Ideal Home: -No small children -No other pets (or slow introductions if you’re experienced) -Someone active who can keep up with her energy -Located near Wichita, Kansas — willing to travel a reasonable distance for the right home Sadee is a wonderful dog who just needs the right environment to thrive. If you think you could be her person, please reach out. We want to ensure she goes to a home where she’s truly understood and loved. Please message us for more info or to set up a meet & greet. Serious inquiries only.   Contact Haley at 316-323-7970 Click here to watch a video of Sadee (Courtesy Post).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 19, 2026, 3:36 pm

Chou Chou is a 5 year old tri-color Border Collie with a loving & playful personality. He’s extremely smart, focused, and high energy. Playtime is his absolute favorite part of the day. Is there anything better? Not according to Chou Chou!  Balls, discs, sticks, anything is game. He’s even proficient at carrying two toys at once! Someone with breed experience that can keep up with his energy would be ideal. When toys are out of the question, he is a big love bug. He enjoys giving hugs, receiving belly rubs, and serving as a foot warmer. He loves all people but is best suited for a home where he is the only dog. Chou Chou would do best in a home with older or dog savvy children. Chou Chou is potty trained, crate trained, and enjoys car rides. He gets so excited to jump in for a ride! He’s a good eater and is learning to work for treats. He has exhibited resource guarding over his food once. Chou Chou enjoys walks but is working to improve his leash manners. Chou Chou is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He is ready to find an active, breed-savvy home to call his own. Chou Chou is being fostered in the Waynesville, MO area.Click here to watch a video of Chou Chou.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 6, 2026, 11:16 am

One of her favorite pastimes is enthusiastically emptying the toy box, and she’s quite the talker, always ready to share her thoughts. A true social butterfly, Bunny loves all people and gets along well with other dogs. She hasn’t been cat tested yet. An adventurer at heart, Bunny enjoys car rides, pup cups, splashing in water, and going exploring. With her intelligence, athleticism, and drive, she would be an excellent candidate for agility or other dog sports and truly thrives when she has a job to do. Bunny has had basic obedience training and is crate trained, house trained, a good eater, and has a decent recall. Like most brilliant Border Collies, she will need continued obedience training, plenty of daily exercise, and consistent mental stimulation to stay happy and balanced—brain work is a must!  Bunny will need a companion dog to play and work with. She is highly motivated by food, toys, praise, and affection. Because of her exuberant energy level, Bunny would do best in a home with older children only. Bunny is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and ready to find an active, dog-savvy home that will embrace her energy, intelligence, and loving nature. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who’s always up for fun and adventure, Bunny may be your perfect match! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Courtesy PostCourtesy Post.  See contact info at the end of bio. Pepper is a 2.5-year-old Border Collie with a sweet, goofy demeanor. She  was abandoned after not making the cut as a working dog on a cattle farm  (apparently, she preferred playing with the herd). She was found very  underweight with several short-term health conditions, suggesting a  significant amount of time away from care. She now has a clean bill of  health.   Pepper is big for a female Border Collie, with sturdy arms, big paws,  and a hard head. She’s an inch taller and two inches longer than her  foster brothers, who are both 50-pound male Border Collies. When she was  found, she was a 3 on the body condition chart at 54 pounds. She’s now  very healthy at 65 pounds. Through the process of trying to find her  owner, her breeder was found and claims Pepper is an ABCA Border Collie  with an Irish working dog pedigree. Though she shows signs of that  herding speed and explosiveness, she seems to need less occupation than  her 10+ year-old foster brothers.  Despite coming from a farm, Pepper is housebroken, kennel trained, and  good on a leash. In a short amount of time, she’s learned the routine  of her foster parents’ dogs, catching on to schedules and everyday  commands and fitting in well much of the time. With some initial  boundary setting, she’s respectful of what furniture is pet approved.  Pepper has improved greatly on appeasement behaviors, but will still  lick hands, whimper, or vocalize like a husky when she’s excited.  She’ll let out a groan of disapproval otherwise. Pepper is very  friendly with everyone she meets and is gentle with her foster  family’s toddler. While she likes to play outside, go on walks and car  rides, and run with her foster brothers in the backyard, she’s always  the first dog to chill out on her own and is very content hanging out  near the couch, on a dog bed, or on the patio. Pepper is still a puppy  and loves keeping herself busy with chew toys… she’ll find her own  if pet-friendly chew toys aren’t around. Pepper should not be off  leash.  Unfortunately, she butts heads with her foster brothers pretty often.  Pepper is not aggressive or an instigator, but she is ignorant to her  foster brothers’ signals and space. Often absentmindedly getting  between them and their favorite toys, beds, bowls, etc., they’ll growl  or snip, which has caused outbursts. She’s also working on the “let  go” portion of fetch & play, triggering some territorial disputes over  toys. Other times she’ll be submissive and allow herself to be herded  by her brothers. Her foster parents are working on the situation but  haven’t had a lot of success (three hard heads). All that said, Pepper  does not like to be left out and is most comfortable being where her  brothers or the people are. During her first few days, she had signs of  separation anxiety like whining in her crate, looking to get around/over  a fence if her parents were on opposite side of it, and barking if she  wasn’t doing the same activity as her brothers. This improved greatly  after about 2-3 days of learning a new routine, so we suspect she has  some worries about abandonment.  Pepper wants a family with a yard to play in and sidewalks to get  exercise on. We believe she’d do great with any age of people. As far  as pet companions, the right balance would need to be struck. Pepper  would do great around other cheerfully unconcerned dogs who aren’t  territorial. We believe she’d do better with a friend but could adjust  to the single-dog role after catching on to her new family’s routine.  If interested in applying for Pepper please email Jon at   hill.jont@gmail.com Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 2, 2026, 11:20 am
