Story
Apollo's birthday is September 10th 2020. He is kennel trained, house trained, and neutered. All of his shots are up to date as well as flea and tick and heartworm prevention. He loves to play fetch, especially with our 2 year old son. He gets along with our other dogs well, but he has gotten into a couple fights with our other male dog over toys/attention. He does very well with our female dog, though, and has never had any issues with her. We are needing to rehome Apollo because we have 2 kids under 2.5 years and just don't have the time to give Apollo the attention he deserves. He will come with a harness and leash, food bowl, and his large kennel.

Story
This is a courtesy post for an individual this is what she wrote please reach out to Stacy for additional informed Now this is my new plea I have a dog I saved from euthanasia. She was a street stray. I planned on keeping her. I can’t. She is great with cats, children and dogs 30 pounds and up. Just NO small dogs. Honestly Izzy is a great dog, just not with little dogs. It’s weird that she is good with cats. Anyways, she has got to go asap. If you know of anyone please have them contact me. She is spayed, utd on shots, microchipped and on heartworm prevention. She is one year old. I am pretty desperate. 580-890-7216

Story
Meet Batman! Are you looking for your next little adventure partner? Are you more on the active side and searching for a nice portland smaller-medium size wonder pup to share life with? This lil super hero might just be for you! This adorable and charming pup is one of 25 incredibly lucky dogs making their way to the Pacific Northwest this week, all thanks to the amazing efforts of our rescue partners in Norman, Oklahoma—and the lifesaving connections and transport provided by our friends and partners at Dog Is My Copilot. Many of these dogs may have an unknown past (owner surrenders or strays), but what we do know is that their future is now looking brighter than ever! They're on the lookout for a warm-hearted temporary foster or forever home where they can settle in, decompress, and begin this exciting new chapter. Like all rescue dogs, they each will need time, patience, and plenty of love as they adjust to their new surroundings—following the 3-3-3 rule (3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to settle in, and 3 months to feel at home) is key to their success. This wonderful pup and their travel buddies will receive or have already received a full wellness exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter prior to adoption. We’re eager to learn more about their personalities once they arrive in their foster homes—stay tuned for updates! If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a deserving pup, apply online today through our website to become pre-approved ahead of time. This gives you the chance to reserve a pup like this one ahead of time or be among the first to schedule a meet-and-greet and begin a flexible in-home adoption trial. Will you be their lucky hero? steps to adopting (OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS ARE IN SEPARATE TEMPORARY FOSTER HOMES BETWEEN BEND/CENTRAL OREGON AND THE GREATER PORTLAND AREA. THEREFORE, MEET AND GREETS ARE NOT DONE AT OUR FACILITY. TO LEARN MORE, PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR ADOPTION APPLICATION ONLINE AND OUR ADOPTION PROGRAM MANAGER WILL REACH OUT TO YOU WITH FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MEET YOUR NEW PUP!) The first step to adopting a dog from SDH is to complete the adoption application. First click on the "OUR DOGS tab up above, and then click on the orange colored "Fill out an Adoption Application here" button to start the process). Once submitted, please expect 3-5 business days or sooner for processing and to hear back from us. Once you are pre-approved, your adoption application will remain on file with us for 1 year and it can go towards multiple adoptions within that 1 year time frame before it expires. To finalize an adoption you must sign the adoption contract and pay the full adoption fee of $550. The adoption fee helps cover our costs. On average, per dog, it costs SDH between $500-$700 for vetting/medical/sterilization, transport and other rescue related expenses. All dogs are rescued and do not transport to SDH until they are healthy and ready to be adopted. All dogs are examined by a veterinarian before they fly, which includes sterilization whenever possible, given standard vaccines and rabies (if age appropriate). Most dogs are sterilized before they come into our program, however if this is not the case we will spay/neuter them once they arrive at our cost. Upon their arrival, all dogs are seen for a wellness exam by SDH's medical team. Once the adoption is finalized, any further medical care or treatment will not be covered by SDH, unless discussed prior with our medical team. All known issues are disclosed to the best of our ability prior to finalizing the adoption.
